Scouty Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 2 pts. Igorlando - 220 - Anastasia Astoria International Hotel 1 pt. private_lego - 232 - Winny Pooh Some very nice entries. These two really popped out for me.
Sandy Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Wow, as a non-fan of LDD, I have to say I'm impressed with these creations, really! It does make a difference to see the digital and the real brick version side by side, because in my heart the real bricks always win. But I'd like to award all of my 3 points to 212 Star (Justice) Base Dock, based on the fact that it evades the "inferior digital version, superior real brick version"-effect that I get from the other entries. This entry shows one side made with the LDD, and the other side with real bricks, bringing true value to both versions, as it would not be same without seeing both of the images. So that's why it caught my interest, even though there are better designs among the other entries. Originality wins over technical quality, in my eyes.
Professor Flitwick Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Two points go to gotoAndLego - 205 - Modular Bridge & Watchtower for its ingenious design! One point goes to joelego - 201 - Rex Helmet for it's original idea!
prateek Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Phoenix Corp. Fireball by vynsan - 1 point I like this one because it looks so clean, and fits in really well with the Sci-Fi theme. Bugatti x 2 by Lego911 - 1 point I cars Winny Pooh by private_lego - 1 point What an original idea! And private_lego pulled it off so well
Captain Becker Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 First i saw captaintuddle`s entry and thinked at i vote for him, but then i saw Igorlando`s entry, i just couldnt belive my eyes. I thinked at that isnt possible to do in LDD. All 3 points: Theme: Town Designer: Igorlando EntryID: 220 Name: Anastasia Astoria International Hotel (I hope at i could do something like that in LDD) Captain Becker
Erdbeereis Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Some outstanding entries here! I loved seeing the MOCs in LDD, and then seeing them with real bricks, it really gives you a new perspective. I give 2 points to Lgorlando and his lovely hotel. And 1 point to private_lego and his Winny Pooh. I've never seen a MOC like this before, and for that you certainly deserve a point.
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 These are great entries! And so it was even hard to vote. Nevertheless here's the result: private_lego - 1 vote Igorlando - 1 vote captaintuddle - 1 vote Good luck! Klaus-Dieter

CorneliusMurdock Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 My three votes go to private_lego. It must have taken quite a while to perfect the unusual concept. My two-year-old saw it and wants one now.
LuxorV Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 First of all, I'd like to say all the entries show great creativity and I wish I had more points to give. Then a big thank you to Superkalle for planning and organizing this superb contest, the first of its kind here on EB! Now to the votes: 1 point to Designer: gotoAndLego EntryID: 205 Name: Modular Bridge & Watchtower Colour changes apart (I probably like the actual bricks' scheme the best ), a very nice and inspiring creation 1 point to Designer: sparkart EntryID: 210 Name: Exo-suit from District 9 Very good rendition of the Jeep and Suit, which looks really sturdy in actual bricks, too, a feat not always easy to accomplish 1 point to Designer: captaintuddle EntryID: 219 Name: Modular Bank I'd love to have a bank like that, and I can see it fit most table town displays Honorable mention Designer: vynsane EntryID: 214 Name: Phoenix Corp. Fireball Do you know where I can buy one of these IRL? You know, I'm tired of my commuter train!
Randal Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 As I stated in my vote for the all LDD contest, I invite any LDD naysayers to click on the link in my sig. I spend every day working at making LDD images look better than the original screen shots. You can do a lot to add depth and proper shading to them, as well as making transparent pieces look more like they should. (If you are sensitive to subject matter, you might want to pass over some of my entries. most of them are in good taste though, and I let my kids read most of them... I'm thinking of going through them and putting asterisks in the titles of the ones that are more mature in content.) On to my votes. I based my votes on ones that I would love to have the LXF files to so that I could look them over or maybe even use in Brick (with proper credit and linkage given, of course). My system of voting is 2 points to my favorite, 1 point to my second favorite and an honorable mention to my third favorite. (I'd love to be able to award 3, 2 and 1 points to the top three, but it's not my system.) Designer: Igorlando EntryID: 220 Name: Anastasia Astoria International Hotel (This is a great modular building and looks as good or possibly even better than the ones with official set names.) 2 points. Designer: vynsane EntryID: 214 Name: Phoenix Corp. Fireball (This piece looks both well thought out and fun. Not only is it a hover car, but it looks like it's been modified into a hot rod.) 1 point Designer: slacker int EntryID: 209 Name: Blacktron 3 Accipiter Attack Fighter (While a bit overbuilt, this is on a parallel to the direction in which I'd like to see Space Lego going. I'd like to see modern SP III style re-imagining of established classic themes, even the old ships that had transparent studded plates as their canopies.) Honorable Mention
JopieK Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Well I think Igorlando deserves 2pts (very difficult to make that in LDD) private_lego has a very nice MOC so 1pt
Renthicya Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Anastasia Astoria International Hotel by Igorlando - 2 points Winny Pooh by private_lego - 1 points Awesome!
Zerobricks Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Vinny pooh (232) gets 2 points! And a point for diner (217)!
