Hi everyone, I wanted a cinema that was modular scale to entertain my minifigs, so I modified the Town Plan cinema into a corner modular cinema. Retained the features I really liked in the original such as the 'cinema' sign and the frontage.

The cinema has full interiors including a snack/popcorn corner on the ground floor, and the cinema hall on the 2nd floor.

Thanks for viewing.

Comments and suggestions welcome...

WOW!!!

Very good modular building, the whole building has a nice feel to it, it fits perfectly in the modular theme.

It's a very cool take on the town plan cinema.

I really love the creation!

Keep creatin'

Very nice modular cinema metalgearsolid. :classic:

You've done well in re-designing the building from town plan into modular scale and it fits in nicely with your street.

Well Done!

This is very cool, the red carpet is very cool. The little popcorn/food stand is really cool, did you use life lites for that?

This is a very cool building, i've been trying to build a cinema but nothing good has come out of mine. keep up the good work!

Very nice use of the Town Plan cinema to build a modular cinema :classic: I think the cinema hall looks a bit small compared to the overall building size, but I can see the difficulty in making it larger.

Wow! This is really nice! I love corner buildings because they are very challenging. You did a great job with this rendition of the theatre with a lot of good connections points and nice bonus features like the stairs and double ticket booths. The interior is my favorite (nice use of the Yetti)

Well done indeed! I've been thinking of making a cinema for my town for a long time, and this has just inspired me even further. I love the designs on the front, the color scheme, and the alignment of the stairway is just excellent. Well done again!

Thanks MGS. Not sure, if I should called you by your name. This is a nice looking cinema and I like how you made them fit together into the LEGO official modular sets. I enjoyed it very much and this is now blogged in,

See it on Classic-Town.net

And since you are a lady, I hope you like your new bling bling.

Thanks alot for all the kind comments!

Btw it's yellow cos I wanted something cheery for my street (and also I do have loads of yellow bricks  ). For my next few buildings I intend to colorise my street (red, blue, etc) so hopefully the yellow doesn't look too out of place next to the earthly official modular series.

The little popcorn/food stand is really cool, did you use life lites for that?

Life lites refers to specialty lights for lego (I'm not familiar with the term)? Unfortunately this building is not lighted. :cry_sad:

CarrollFilms & Fires-storm: I did some research on cinema MOCs before I started on this. Maybe you can have a look for reference and more inspiration? Hope you finish your cinemas soon and to share it with us. :classic:Link to cinema research

Yeah... I tried to do a tiered seating at first, but it was simply too heavy to support. I could also expand the L-shape to make it bigger but roof and floor plates was a major constraint on the building size. It's a bit of anti-climax for such a big building to have only 6 seats huh?

Haha, yeah new bling bling indeed. Thanks!

I bet they are nice and comfortable though, and that the tickets are expensive

Wow, very nicely done Madam! default_thumbup.gif Your modified cinema is way way much better than the one in Town Plan - bigger, better details and interiors, nice color scheme. I simply love the popcorn stand - very realistic indeed.

Great 'modularization' of the Town Plan cinema. I do agree with Captain Green Hair that the original tan looks better than yellow. But, the longer I look at it, the better it looks and - as you also say - using basic colors brightens up your city streets. I like the use of the Adventurers' monster in the second floor hallway, nice detail.

(seen on Classic-Town)

Very nice! That's the best reconversion of the LEGO Cinema I've seen! The facade is beautiful and the interior full of details! Great job!

My only critic is that I would have made the screen room much isolated (and much larger, but that imply a larger building)

Anyway! I'm a conformist! (as some say  )

This looks really great! It's true to the original, colorful and cheerful, probably the best mod I have seen to the Town Plan cinema!

I think it's far more attractive than the Grand Emporium sitting on the opposite street.

I am really interested in your modular winter toy shop. Do you mind posting more photos of that please? Thanks.

Let me see if I can find time to take some photos tomorrow. If not give me another week or so cos I can only take reasonable pics in decent daylight condition (I'm using an 'point&shoot' cam!). :sweet:

Wow, thanks! I love the GE so it's a great compliment. TBH I think it is not as good of course, but still great to hear!

I am curious though? Why's the concession stand on the outside like that?

Oh, I designed it so my lego-lings can buy popcorn & drinks without having to go into the cinema. There are so few food places in my Lego town you see... every bit helps! I think this shot shows layout better. It's designed to have 2 service staff operating during peak periods (one for the outside counter and one for cinema patrons) hence the 2 cash registers.

Hi Vader11, managed to take some pics today so I've created a new thread for the white building here: Link

As usual more pics are available on my blog, including the previous brown version that I've torn down. Hope you like it! :sweet:
