Geki Brick Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks for the pics! The cube storage box looks like there's clear flaps on the outside to display your cards. The hexagonal storage box looks like it can double as a spinjutsu arena. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Ooh, activity books. Last time I checked, all of the minifigures included with those books aren't Chinese. I might pick up another blue ninja if I find one of these books. Watches, games and a minifig clock, amongst all the other merchandise? Wow, they must really have high hopes for this line. One thing which has been annoying me is that getting multiples of the white ninja is hard, especially in a small set. The ice dragon contains a DX figure and the spinners are out of the option, so I hope they add another white ninja into a set in the next wave. Quote
squidman85 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I bought Skeleton Chopper yesterday and it's seems that skeletons in spinners and in sets are the same chinese plastic. It there any set with Frakjaw, except Turbo Shredder? Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I bought Skeleton Chopper yesterday and it's seems that skeletons in spinners and in sets are the same chinese plastic. It there any set with Frakjaw, except Turbo Shredder? They're not. I think they are different plastic to the human minifigures but there is a difference from spinners and sets. Quote
squidman85 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 They're not. I think they are different plastic to the human minifigures but there is a difference from spinners and sets. Their head, body, armor and legs made from chinese plastic. Not sure about the arms. Quote
The_Box Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 It there any set with Frakjaw, except Turbo Shredder? Frakjaw is also in the starter set but he doesn't come with the straw hat. Along the lines with the chinese plastic, I don't see how the skellies are made of said inferior plastic. I have 2 from spinners (Chopov & Krazi) and 2 from actual sets (Bonezai and Frakjaw) and all of them seem very durable to me. The only difference I can tell from the spinners and the sets is that the skellies arms are different. The sets have arms that can hold weapons verically while the spinners have arms that hold weapons horizonitally, which is better for the spinner anyway. Quote
squidman85 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Why does sensei Wu's(Wu its also chinese name, not japanese) brother Gramadon has that type of name? And why he is "lord"? Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Their head, body, armor and legs made from chinese plastic. Not sure about the arms. Wait, head included? That's strange, unless you're talking about the spinner sets. I don't really know how to distinguish Chinese plastic personally. Well, I guess if you're a skeleton fan that it won't matter whether you choose to buy the sets or the spinners. Quote

I agree I can't tell it apart unless it's the body or legs of a figure. I have the skeleton form the regular sets, and the heads/torsos look normal, only the legs and boots look like Chinese plastic. squidman85 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Well, not sure about head.It doest have any holes(even chinese heads have them). Quote
Geki Brick Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 What do you guys think these sets will be priced at? My guesses Earth dragon 20 Lightning dragon 20 Mountain Shrine 30 Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Guys, I get the starter set today and I must say... I am impresed about quality. My minifig was great. After examination I noticed no diferences between "chinese" and normal minifig. And If you are still curious how to play check out this: Or go to ninjago site, Great videos are waiting there. Quote
Oky Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 What do you guys think these sets will be priced at? My guesses Earth dragon 20 Lightning dragon 20 Mountain Shrine 30 If those are USD prices, then yes, the dragons will probably be $20 like the Ice one we have now, but I'm sure the shrine wont be more than $20 since it's a much smaller set than Skeleton Bowling. In fact, it looks like it's around the size of Skull Motorbike, so I'm hoping it will be $15, but we'll see. Quote

I first imagined it to be like what you said, but this guy does have a spinner included and the super popular/rare golden sword. Now with Lego, I think they will jack up prices because of those two proponents. It will still be the smallest structure set though (not counting the impulse). Only time will tell :P Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 What do you guys think these sets will be priced at? My guesses Earth dragon 20 Lightning dragon 20 Mountain Shrine 30 I'm guessing the Lighning dragon will cost more, mainly because Brickset says its supposed to be a battle, which could even include another dragon. Perhap Sensei Wu's? Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I just bought Nuckal's ATV at Walmart in Washington State it was $24.99. Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Well, not sure about head.It doest have any holes(even chinese heads have them). Ah, I see now. I've heard about the heads being filled in, and I don't think it's related to whether they are Chinese or not. I heard about it in relation to the Mandalorian battlepacks in the Star Wars line, and today I bought a heap of sets, none of which had filled-in heads. Quote

kingcjc Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Game has been announced. I created a thread Here. It's called LEGO Battles: Ninjago Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I like to think I would have noticed it if any of mine were like that... but now I think I'm gonna have to go check Yeah, I'm becoming paranoid about the filled-in heads. It could be quality-related, but it's not because of the head being Chinese or not, I think. If you look at Stegoceras' review here, three of his Clones came with these heads. The components aren't made in China, and I haven't got the same problem. I guess it just varies, maybe they're using a prototype mould or something that got mixed into various sets from different themes. Quote
TheMasterChief Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Hi guys! i had a lot of luck last week and got the Turbo Shredder and the motorcycle forgot then name though. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 so I've read several posts mentioning the purchasing of Ninjago sets, so where on earth are the reviews? lol I am made sad by the lack of pics. Quote
ka.lego Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Hi all. I have to admit that when I first saw the announcement of this theme and the promo / marketing info that followed, I was pretty skeptical. But over the last few weeks, I've been lucky enough to pick up the smaller/mid-sized sets—Ice Dragon, Skull Motorbike, Turbo Shredder—and was quickly won over. I think the "quirkiness" of mixing skeletons, ninjas, fantasy, and vehicles first turned me off, but now I realize it's the theme's biggest asset. Not to mention the continued expansion of our definition of "minifigure", given the cool new skeleton body. (Not partial to the ugly big-headed ones, personally.) so I've read several posts mentioning the purchasing of Ninjago sets, so where on earth are the reviews? lol I am made sad by the lack of pics. If you're looking for reviews, there are several online of varying quality. Weird.) Hope this helps. Quote
Prominence Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Have images of the "Lightning Dragon Battle" already showed up? If not, will it appear at Toyfair? Quote
