Hinckley Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 In the course of building my entry, I've been building it in LDD as well to keep track of piece count. Is it okay to put the lxf file in my entry post or should I hold off on that till after the contest? Hopefully, I can finish in a few more days and can start work on my Original Wizard entry. After the contest please. Thanks. Quote
The Cool Minifig Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) It should be only one building. But if a location is two buildings, I may let it pass on a case by case basis. If you are doing Tom Riddle's house, you may put the house and an outlying shed in the same creation. Or if there are two stores in Hogsmeade that are attached, but you can't build the entire town of Hogsmeade for your entry. Ok. This will be hard. I need to do some research on magical structures Oh yeah, Hinkley, I want to do Hogsmeade Railway Station and I want to put the Hogwarts Express pulling in. May I attach the engine to the tracks by the platform? Edited January 13, 2011 by The Cool Minifig Quote
Hinckley Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Ok. This will be hard. I need to do some research on magical structures Oh yeah, Hinkley, I want to do Hogsmeade Railway Station and I want to put the Hogwarts Express pulling in. May I attach the engine to the tracks by the platform? Are you building an original Hogwarts Express? If not, don't put the official set in the pictures. If so, is the whole thing under 1000 pieces? It is best to post your Hogsmeade MOC and then add pictures of it with the Hogwarts Express after the close of the contest or in your flickr photostream, but not posted in your entry thread. Cool? (Of course, once the contest concludes, you can add the pics of the station with the train to the thread you've already posted as opposed to starting a new one.) Quote
Sirius Black Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Well, i never imagined that the piece count would be such a difficult obstacle. I am about 2/3 done with my creation, and only have about 400 bricks left, but the part that is left is very difficult. I will be posting my wip model shortly, and hopefully will finish entirely by the end of the week. Quote
Gregorovich Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) I've done my entry, and have uploaded my photos to Brickshelf. But my problem is that I can't upload them to EB. It just comes up with the message "you can't use image extension on this board". Does anyone know how to fix this? Or would I be able to just post a link to my Brickshelf folder, but write my character's background on my post? Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Oops, wrong topic. hoiharry Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Hello, I like to enter the WINTER BREAK Contest, but when I try to upload my images it says: ''You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.'' What should I do? Quote
Oky Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 @ Gregorovich & hoiharry: You don't upload the pic to EB; you upload them to Brickshelf or Flickr or something and then deeplink them here. Click here to see how to do that. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 My entry is up. Critique is welcome. I plan on making some more people to go in it and then taking more pictures by this weekend some time. So any implementable suggestions would be preferred before then. Quote
Sirius Black Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 My entry is up, and the finished product is now uploaded. Enjoy! If you have any critiques/comments, i would appreciate them. Quote
eti Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I never even tried to count the number of parts I used in a MOC, so to stay on the safe side I decided to do something small. My entry is King's Cross. I haven't seen any of the other entries yet except for one that was posted on Lowlug. I am going to browse through them now. Quote
badboytje88 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Check out my entry: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50221&st=0&gopid=896520entry896520 Comments and critics are appreciated. Quote
Jalkow Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Yay! I made it in time! You can find my entry here! I'd love to hear what you think of it! I uploaded a little video too. I hope that's okay, Hinckley, I dropped two pictures for it? Quote

Dropped two pictures... huh? Have I met you? I used to participate in SANDLUG... Quote

Have I met you? I used to participate in SANDLUG... Thanks! I don't think I've met you though, I'm not familiar with SANDLUG, so probably not... The original post said that you should add five pictures, but my post has 3 and one video. That seemed fair, right? Quote

I don't make much sense lately. Quote
Matn Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Hinckley, in the Netherlands of course! Know your LUGs, but there are many of them. For those who haven't seen it yet: here's my little entry, the Gaunt House. Quote
lakers88 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hinckley, is using official Lego stickers good with the contest? Quote
Dix Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hinckley, is it allowed to remove the background from my photos in photoshop? I'm asking because one of the rules states: -No Photoshop enhancements outside of sharpening, brightening, color correction or other image adjustment. No added text or effects. Quote
Harrypotterfreak Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 This is random ,but brickipedia has a complete list of minifigs in the 3 new sets....just wanted to let y'all know. I found it disappointing.... Quote
Cara Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Hinckley, is it allowed to remove the background from my photos in photoshop? I'm asking because one of the rules states: -No Photoshop enhancements outside of sharpening, brightening, color correction or other image adjustment. No added text or effects. I would hope yours is OK Dix, I guess it depends if it comes under "effects", I also hope you get a definitive answer from Hinckley. In the mean time would think that rule is more to prevent people adding things in photoshop that they don't have in bricks, or changing the colours of bricks etc. My Question: "4.Contestants may submit a maximum number of 5 pictures per entry." By picture do you mean occurrance of a max 600x800 image? I ask because I was considering putting two smaller images into one picture. I didn't, but I am now wondering if I could have since I've seen it in another entry. (E.g. 3 single image pictures + 2 that each have two images within 1 picture) Thank you! Quote

maydayartist Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 No collages or split frames. Oh, ok that´s good to know. I have a double picture collage and will change it now. That was a good question, Cara. I was thinking about that on splitting the image, but after that I thought that only the size matters. Quote
Hinckley Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 size matters. Don't make me quote Yoda... Quote
Cara Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Last question from me. I have put links throughout my post to detailed images in a flickr album. Is this acceptable? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Last question from me. I have put links throughout my post to detailed images in a flickr album. Is this acceptable? Yes: 2.Entries should have a link to a picture folder (non-resized pics, close-ups and stuff like that for the rest of us to enjoy). Quote
