Dear all,

Mostly I read, it is the first time I post.

I own many RC and PF trains but my layout is boring without automatic switches, stop lights and lamps.

As I started collecting PF and RC trains I don't know a lot about 12 V trains and related accessories so my question is:

Can I use 12 V stop light, lamps, and switches for my RC/PF tracks?

If yes, what do I need to make them working?

Thank you all!

Why not? I have a working concept with Arduino / Atmel CPU. Search in the EB fora ;) You can have LED's for the signal and an IR led that sends a pulse to stop or enable a train.

Thanks for your answers.

I found them very useful. Do you have more links like that one? I would like to know also more about arduino atmel.

I want to make my layout as real as possible.
