Bob Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 "General Stanley!" Director Hoffman yells. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" "Arresting these people, back off." "General..." Captain Garrison started. "Don't you think we're overreacting just a tad?" "Shut up and do as you're told, Garrison." "Give me the gun." Hoffman barks. The two struggled, and in the struggle, Captain Garrison was pushed down. "Give me the gun you World War One relic!" Hoffman shouts. "Back off!" "You can't handle that weapon you washed up soldier!" "I can handle it better than you, you hair gel wasting buffoon!" Suddenly, a shot rang out, and Director Hoffman fell to the ground, dead. Everyone stood mortified. General Stanley raised his weapon incredulously to look at it, then he lowered it. However, the die was cast, and there was no turning back. "Arrest them." He says after a few moments. "Shoot them if they resist." The soldiers moved forward, one moved to Farmer Alan and James, who both resisted. "You shouldn't have resisted!" The soldier says. He fired, but the bullet stopped a few feet away from the two townies. "Wait! I have the results of the building contest!" The Congressman shouts. "Is now really the best time?" the soldier asks. "No time like the present." "Aren't you in jail?" James asks. "No, that's my character. I'm the host." "There's a difference?" Farmer Alan asks. "Shut up. The two winners are...Fugazi and CorneliusMurdock! They had the only two entries." "What do we win?" James asks. "Immunity. Now I have to go before I continue breaking the fourth wall." He disappears. "I wonder what that means for me." The soldier asks. The bullet does a 360 and comes back and hits the soldier in the chest, and he falls to the ground. "Oof!" he sputters, dying. Garrison kicks his former commander to the ground, meanwhile, Mayor Bradford builds up some courage. "Everyone get to the Lakota!" he shouts. "It's our only hope!" A few townspeople rush forward as the scuffle continues behind them. James uses his cargo handling knowledge to try and start the boat. It successfully turns on! "Get on, quick!" Everyone boards, including Captain Garrison, whom they let on reluctantly. Chief Fields kicks the ladder off the boat, and Officer Harrison gives the thumbs up to James, who pushes the throttle forward. The old lines securing the boat snap, as the cargo vessel jolts forward. General Stanley's loud yells are heard as only a whisper in the distance, as the boat leaves Alabatha. The townies are free, but only to an extent, as the spies are still among them... ---------- Characters: Government Workers Ian Bradford (Mayor) played by Walter Kovacs Will Ackerson (Town Councilman) played by iamded Tim Fields (Police Officer) played by CallMePie Louis Harrison (Police Officer) played by Brickme --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Working Class Dieter Schneider (Chef) played by Shadows Patrick Jefferson (Lawyer) Played by Professor Flitwick James Falzone (Dock Worker) played by CorneliusMurdock [/b] Alan Simmons (Farmer) played by Fugazi -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Dolores Jefferson (Housewife) played by Def Gloria Jefferson (Student) played by Admiral Ron Stevie Jefferson (Student) played by Legonater Ralph Jenkins (Retired Salesman) played by Cralegoboy Matt Liebenston (HUAC Investigator) Played by Dragonator ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Arrivals Captain Pete Garrison (National Guard Captain) Played by Lord Arjay Krista Halle (Farmer) Played by Peanuts Deceased Valerie Jenkins (Housewife) played by Sok117 Jackie Harding (Ted's Wife) Played by Captain Becker Simon Lloyd (Doctor) played by Burman Ted Harding (Captain of the Lakota) Played by Capt.JohnPaul Frankie Daly (Deckhand) Played by Captain Genero Maxwell Touns (Congressional Aide) Played by Mrlegoninja Julie “Princess” Parker (Nurse) played by The Crazy One Alan Cain (Judge) played by JCC1004 Voted Out Ryan Phelps (Police Chief) played by JimButcher Good luck! (Borrowed partly from Dragonator’s Mystery Manor) 1. There are 18 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. I am trusting you all not to drop out halfway through, as that is never any fun. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. 3. This game is meant to be fun, so enjoy yourselves! 4. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 5. Please try to avoid editing your posts, as it can lead to suspicion against you. Just consider what you want to say before you say it, and you'll be fine. 6. Please remember that this is the early 1950’s. No iPods, digital cameras, cell phones, printers, computers, fax machines, or otherwise. No events past the current date either, or else people will view you as insane. 7. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. You’ll always have the option of backtracking or researching the same place. 8. The host is usually always right. If you think I’ve made an error, then please discuss this in the discussion thread or feel free to PM me. 9. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 10. Remember that although a chapter has ended, that doesn’t mean that the day has concluded, and night actions can be used. 10b. There are also chapter actions. Those of you with chapter actions have the ability to use them at the end of each chapter. 11. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. 12. This is the 1950’s, the middle of the Cold War. You’re under constant worry of potential nuclear Armageddon, so act like it. The Communists are your enemies in this game, don’t forget that. Also, anytime historical facts from the 1950’s are brought in is a big plus.
Peanuts Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Wow, now that was a pell-mell. I wonder what we're supposed to do next? We can hardly investigate, being on the ship. Any ideas anyone?
Fugazi Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Eeeehaw! This is exciting! Step on the gas James, or whatever, let's get the hell out of here! Uh, where are we going guys? And is it a good moment to throw some commies overboard?
CMP Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I'd like to pretend to push Garrisson off the boat. Alright, now to serious business. They way I see it we're being forced to take action. There's no way we can have any more investigations, except here, but anyone pertaining to this boat is already dead, so it's near pointless. It's time for action. So here are our *confirmed* actions. Gloria Jefferson: Watcher Stevie Jefferson: Tracker Garrisson: Killer (unconfirmed role, killer can go both ways) Ralph Jenkins: Killer Dolores Jefferson: Slut/Investigator/Blocker Our *confirmed* allegiences. Gloria Jefferson: Backed up by Stevie Stevie Jefferson: Backed up by Gloria Me: Backed up ( ) by Dolores Will Ackerson: Backed up by Dolores If anyone has anything to add to the list, tell me. And here's my suspicion list. Garrisson: He's a killer Ralph Jenkins: Killer Krista Halle: Newcomer, CIA note says to be wary of them Dieter Shneider: WHERE THE HELL IS HE?????
Peanuts Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Krista Halle: Newcomer, CIA note says to be wary of them When were we told the note was a CIA note? But no complains about anything else you said.
CMP Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 When were we told the note was a CIA note? But no complains about anything else you said. I believed we asked Bob, and he said it was the handwriting of his CIA agent.
Professor Flitwick Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Goodness... gracious... me... I should exercise more... Krista Halle: Newcomer, CIA note says to be wary of them Not that any of us can truly know who that note specifically targeted, but I don't believe that it brings her into the firing line; she's been a citizen of Alabatha for three years. Hardly a 'newcomer'.
Sisco Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Well, that was fun. I'd like to know the ship's heading, and where we think we're going.
CMP Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 New Arrivals Captain Pete Garrison (National Guard Captain) Played by Lord Arjay Krista Halle (Farmer) Played by Peanuts
iamded Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Righto, we're on the boat again! Phwoar, what an occurrence that was. We could have been killed! Crazy, absolutely crazy. I'd like to locate the mayor and stick close to him, for the time being.
Brickdoctor Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 So... ...where do we go from here? Do we have to sail around and then back to Alabatha, to another city, or do we stay at sea? Can we investigate the boat? I'd like a list of all the rooms on the boat, and if any are locked. Matt Liebenston (HUAC Investigator) Played by Dragonator *ahem*
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Yeah, guys, I kinda need a heading or something. Right now I think we're just goin' forward. Stanley will catch up to us sooner or later. What do we do now? Is this the final chapter? Are we supposed to vote or something, or just have a lengthy discussion?
Admiral Ron Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Well, That was interesting, I suppose we need a heading. Alabatha is lost, perhaps somewhere in Western Europe?
Peanuts Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 One question, who of us knows how to navigate a ship? I could imagine James does, but is there someone else as well?
Professor Flitwick Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Yes, but the note doesn't specify if it is referring to people new to Alabtha (i.e Director Liebenston, The members of the Lakota, General Stanley and his men, etc), or whether it is what the host Congressman Bob/General Stanley classify as be new to the game crisis.
Bob Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 Well, that was fun. I'd like to know the ship's heading, and where we think we're going. There's a large clanking noise clearly heard from the bottom deck, as the Lakota stops, dead in the water. The Engine that Captain Harding spent hours fixing had broken, possibly for good this time. The Lakota is currently a mile away from Alabatha. Righto, we're on the boat again! Phwoar, what an occurrence that was. We could have been killed! Crazy, absolutely crazy. I'd like to locate the mayor and stick close to him, for the time being. Councilman Ackerson and the Mayor huddle close to each other. So... ...where do we go from here? Do we have to sail around and then back to Alabatha, to another city, or do we stay at sea? Can we investigate the boat? I'd like a list of all the rooms on the boat, and if any are locked. *ahem* Look here. Yeah, guys, I kinda need a heading or something. Right now I think we're just goin' forward. Stanley will catch up to us sooner or later. What do we do now? Is this the final chapter? Are we supposed to vote or something, or just have a lengthy discussion? I'm getting to that, hold your horses. With the boat dead in the water, everyone looks at each other confused. James and Farmer Alan leave the bridge for the main deck with everyone else, and sit down. It's quite cold out. "I think our best option is to hold a vote." Inspector Liebenston says. "One last vote, while we still can. Maybe if we root out the communists, we'll be able to impress Stanley when he catches up to us and he'll let us go." The others nod in affirmation. It will take 8 votes to reach a consensus on who to pick.
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I'm getting to that, hold your horses. I got to drive a boat and now I get horses? Awesome! I do think it's time to share some info. I've been able to lock people in their homes and prevent them from goin' out at night. 1st night- Blocked Dieter - no action 2nd night (after Chp 6) - Blocked Patrick - no action but I did see Gloria watchin' him as well and saw Dolores leavin' her bed. after Chp 8- Blocked a protector that was goin' to protect Matt. I'll give them a chance to say who they are. After Chap 9 - Blocked Matt- Wasn't doing anythin' but bein' shot. After Chp 10- Blocked Dolores - Wasn't performin' any action. After 11 - Blocked Ackerson - wasn't performin' any action. When I talked to Dolores, not letting on that I had blocked her, I asked if she had investigated anyone since we had last talked the day of the vote. She then said that General Stanley's telling everyone they could use night actions after chapter breaks didn't apply to her. That sounds like a lie to me to cover up the fact that she is not our investigator. I had been suspicious of her before, but this pushed her to the top of my suspect list.

That is quite interesting, i did not know that, Dolores, can you explain this? My suspicions are still at Captain Garrison, a killer, as well as a note that says beware of newcomers. I think he is our Commie.
Brickdoctor Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Look here. Oops. So, do we explore the ship, concentrate on voting out who we believe is a Commie, or both?
The Legonater Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 That was sweet! Any weapons on this boat? Hoist the main sails! Oh... wait. Back on task. So, we have a couple of possible culprits. Just to make sure, the two we locked up are on the ship, right?
Brickdoctor Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Just to make sure, the two we locked up are on the ship, right? I believe they never got locked up in the first place.Do any of the rooms on the ship have a lock that we have a key for and are of them suitable to serve as a brig?

That sounds like a lie to me to cover up the fact that she is not our investigator. I had been suspicious of her before, but this pushed her to the top of my suspect list. That is quite interesting, but there's one thing that I'm wondering about: You say Dolores used no night action that chapter ending. You asked her about her action, without telling her what you know, and she said she couldn't use it for that odd reason. Now I'm wondering: If she is really not an investigator, what is she then? She has a night action, and we are pretty sure she an block. Now she claimed her action was both blocking and investigating, and the host Stanley said such an action might exist. So if she's no investigator, but therefore a simple blocker, she had lied to us. If she lied, she is most likely scum. But if she is a scum blocker why didn't she use her night action that day? Just a small question that came to me and confuses me. The top of my suspicion list is still Garrison for obvious reason. I believe they never got locked up in the first place. Do any of the rooms on the ship have a lock that we have a key for and are of them suitable to serve as a brig? Haven't we already investiagted the ship?
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 That's a good question, Krista. I think it must be somethin' that could only be used a limited number of times. My first thought was convertin' but those we know she has targeted have claimed otherwise. The other possibility is that She's telling the truth about bein' limited to using it at nights. Maybe Stanley didn't have the authority to let her use her ability more often because she is not on the same side as the rest of us. Maybe the communists were exempted from Stanley's empowerment. Don't know why any townies would be singled out not to use their ability.
CMP Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I vote: Captain Garrisson/Lord Arjay. He's a killer, and Stevie seems very convinced Ralph is innocent, and his reasoning for doing it is fair. Oh, I'm a protector. I've been rather selfish this entire time, though. I've protected myself every night but for 2. Night/Chapter 3 I protected Harrison, and I didn't get my action in at one night. Oh, and I failed the most recent night, due to being violated by Dolores. But, she did confirm me as town, so I can't blame her.
Brickdoctor Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Haven't we already investiagted the ship? In the past, but someone could've come back after we last investigated, couldn't they? That's a good question, Krista. I think it must be somethin' that could only be used a limited number of times. My first thought was convertin' but those we know she has targeted have claimed otherwise. The other possibility is that She's telling the truth about bein' limited to using it at nights. Don't know why any townies would be singled out not to use their ability. If she is scum, there is also always the possibility that she is not using it all the time to throw is off. Or maybe she didn't get actions in on time slept through the night and got up too late to use her action.
