With the new 2.0 building system, it's remarkably easy to make and customize good looking action figures. I've noticed that the majority of the MOCs that follow the standard 2.0 build each have one or two unique details/techniques, but these are often forgotten because a there isn't much to discuss about every new standard 2.0 build.

So in order to gather these techniques into the a "library" of sorts and to keep the forum tidier, I've created this thread for sharing and discussing our 2.0 Hero MOCs/tablescraps. LDD Heroes and photos of Recon Team Heroes are welcome as well, but no CG Recon Team heroes please. :classic:

As a photo heavy thread, please try keep the resolution of photos at around 500x375.

To start things off, here's a recent Hero that I made, to test out Toa_of_Justice's Atlantis trident details in real life. It works quite well, provided that the beam hole where the trident is attached isn't above a ball or socket.

I really like that hero, but i got to know, how did you do the tubing in the torso?

The torso armour keeps the tubing in place, while a Hero shield attaches to the two friction pins to tidy up the back. :classic:

I really like the combo of blue and white, I'm glad I picked up those white cores they're great for things like this. I can't wait for the second wave, I really wanna get more of those white cores. Feedback appreciated.

Thanks for checking it out, have a nice day.

My gosh, thats brilliant, I love the colours! :classic:

I can imagine how amazing it would be if you had like about 20 of them and someone just goes on a massacre and takes them all down.

I've merged your MOC into this official thread, because it qualifies nicely for being in here.

I like the combination of colours as well, and the helmet suits perfectly. I have a feeling that the shin shells would look better if they were attached to the sides of the legs, to break up the flat surface formed by them and the thigh shells. If you have a trans-orange Lightsaber blade, it would match better than the trans-blue blade.

How is the shield on the back attached? I can see a black piece behind the head that looks like part of a different method of attachment than I would have done.

Thanks for the feedback, the agori head is attached with a "Leg with Ball Joint and Ball Socket, Short" and the back plate is simply attached with a Pin Connector Perpendicular 3L with 4 Pins, nothing complicated.

I noticed that my thread was gone, I see what you're getting at and a general topic for this seems like a great idea, but in another way, it does not. Having one thread that doesn't show the title of the custom heros and will lose the chances of people seeing them, thus resulting in inactivity on the forum. I imagine it would be a bit sketchy to have to visit this thread everytime you want to see a new hero, as having their own topics in the forum they'd be easier to spot.

There was a bit to many LDD/HRT creations popping up for a while resulting in a bit of spam, but that was it. I see that this thread is made to make it easier to share but I don't really think it would work in the long run. Either just forbid people from posting LDD renders or something anything really. Though you could create a topic discussing simple techniches with the new parts.

This is what Hero Factory has become, they made alot of it very simple so there isn't that much variety, but that's not our or eurobricks fault. When Bionicle was here you didn't see a Toa thread, so why start with this now? This forum is already filled with alot of basic heros with little configurations, I don't see the problem in this as what I said earlier, this is what Hero Factory is.

So please, let us have our own threads with our own heros, if an overflow occours, then people can have their own threads filled with libarys of their own heros. Just please not this.

But again you're the moderator, and I'm just a member.

Thanks. :classic: It looks like the head connection works well, and could be useful for other Hero/BIONICLE heads that don't fit properly on 2.0 torsos as well.

I agree that this topic may make it slightly harder for individual MOCs to get attention, but hopefully the people who enjoy seeing Hero-2.0-mods will come back to this topic frequently enough not miss any new Hero among other replies. This has been done before with art (although that change has since been adjusted), and I'll change this setup if it doesn't work out properly.

It's nobody's fault that Heroes can be built so easily with the new system, but as a result there isn't much you can say about each Hero-mod due to them mostly having only minor differences in armour placement and colours. In this topic each Hero remains easy to find rather than getting buried under other topics after only receiving a few views.

Most Toa MOCs have a fair amount of "custom" designs to them, but I would have put any Toa-mods using a Mata/Metru/Inika/Star design into a Toa thread or banned them completely because they don't look as slick as 2.0 Heroes.

I want to leave this topic as it is for now, but I will make changes in the future if I see a better way of organizing Hero-mods. As a moderator what I think will work the best for members will usually be what is done, but please complain in the Action Figure Forum Discussion topic or by PM if I'm actually completely off my Rockaer. :sweet:

I wasn't complaining, I was rather discussing and/or giving advice on the topic rather than calling it out. I love this forum, the level of system and control is incredibly great and is most likely why this board is so succesful.

How about we have our own topics and and posted them in here aswell? Then this would work as a libary/source, then there would be new topics so people could easily spot the new heros and there will be a libary that you can look for them? I think that would be great.:cry_happy:

Also I still see alot of Heros around here that still isn't in this libary. :look:

Great job, Have you got a chance to see Rocka 2.0 on http://herofactory.wikia.com ?

You version is surprising close. Also what program do you use to make those pictures. I would love to have on my computer to practice MOCing

Thnx and yes i have seen the pic. I made it in LDD but the extended version where you can choose what color the pieces are.

Looking at the video, his mask looks more like the one used by Breez. Other than that it looks pretty acurate. Well done.

In that view I admit it does look like breez but After looking at the comics head shot I decided Nex's would be better but I'm guessing he probably has a different mask than the others.

Yeah, the comic seems to completely improvise his helmet. In the video his helmet accessory is basically a fusion of two helmet accessories, with Surge 2.0's mouthpiece and Breez 2.0's visor. I'm very impressed with this, for a couple of reasons: since Surge and Breez don't have prominent roles in this story arc, there's less of a chance that Rocka will get confused with either character than if they had used, for example, Furno's helmet Also, the fact that they bothered to give Rocka a unique helmet accessory is impressive compared to characters like Thresher that just reuse already-rendered parts with no customization, or characters like Bulk and Stringer 2.0 who were simply rendered without any kind of helmet accessory.

There are also some differences that you may or may not want to change in the build. The Rocka 2.0 in the video has no cladding on his right arm, gold cladding rather than black on his upper legs, Interestingly, both of these things are also true of the Rocka 3.0 pictured here. I imagine some of these differences between the products and the renders in the TV episode may be a result of the TV episode using prototype models for reference-- something that also occurred with all the BIONICLE movies. It's up to you whether you'd like to make these changes in your model.

The last difference is that in the video Rocka uses gold hands rather than black ones. Since this change was not made to the 3.0 version linked above, chances are this was a deliberate change to make Rocka 2.0 more consistent with the design of the other heroes. They are also the four-fingered 1.0 hands rather than the five-fingered 2.0 hands, but since the older style of hands is not available on LDD and the newer style is never used in the TV episodes (even on characters who have five-fingered hands as sets), the color is all that really needs to be changed.

alright thanks and amazing observations here is the updated version and I took down the first plus I am hoping they will release either a bulk 2.0 stringer 2.0 or rocka 2.0 this winter as a store exclusive but the chances of that happening are slim to none because they were not shown at toy fairdefault_cry4.gif

and can some on tell me how to change i so can upload more than 100k of pictures cuz just one pic 82.6k

When I saw the video I knew that it was Rocka. About his headgear... It just for protection and communication. Because his mission in Quatros was a recon mission. His ice weapon is great but useless in that planet. The designers are very limitated when they have to create an unique character. Maybe they want to create a different hero or character but using what Lego gives them. In the 3.0 version Rocka's eyes are in the lion helmet like THE OTHER HEROES.

Improved, more bulky version of Mark Surge 2.0. I have this model in real life, but it's very difficult to make some pics. At least, for now. However, I has built him in LDD. This model is almost identical to it's real prototype.

After the corruption of the rookies Hero Factory had a shortage on heroes, so they started a new program: the "Duo System".

Every unit consists of two entities mentally linked together to increase their teamwork capabilities. Anthony Noble and Jonathan Fury are the first unit. But just as they starting their training, Deadeye started his rampage. Even though the staff was against it, the heroes wanted to tst their abilities against the furious mercenary.

- Noble is equiped with a dual light laser for sniping

- Fury is equiped with a fire grenade launcher

- both share the same strength and agility

Awesome MOCs! These heroes really have a sense of identity apart from the sets used to make them, which is a testament to both the part design of the 3.0 helmets and the creativity of the MOCs. One thing that bothers me is that Noble's launcher doesn't end up looking very powerful. You probably don't have the parts to do this, but if you ever get them I'd recommend replacing the 4M lightsaber blades with 6M bars.

I love how the two heroes look like color-swapped reflections of one another. I might have been bothered by Noble having the same color face as his helmet, but since Stormer 3.0's helmet is so "open" it works well. Great work overall on these two!

Oh by the way, did someone move this post into this topic?

I do not remember posting it in here....

Yeah, the staff prefer to consolidate all canister-sized heroes built with the new building system in this topic. But it personally doesn't bother me-- it gives me one place to regularly check for updates rather than a huge cluster of topics.

Thank you..... :sweet:

I originally planned to use the 6M bars, but their kinda hard to come by here in germany.

I don't know sets that unclude this part. :sceptic:
