TheBoyWonder Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 CJP, is there anywhere where I can purchase some nostrums? Quote
Sandy Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 So when is this thing coming out, exactly? Yesterday you said that it would be coming out tomorrow, which means it should be out today. :sweet: Your sense of logic is infallible. Quote

Wedge09 Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Ennon was a kingdom that got totally ravaged by the orcish invasion about 250 years prior to the events of the game. Fortaan was the capital of that kingdom, so that's where you'll find the most ruins. As for other ruins, you are free to make up them anywhere into the world. The Great Abra Desert and Babeleth Darklands are perfect spots for some wasteland-style ruins, for example. Sandy, Fortaan had any canals in the city, with maybe a waterfall? If no, any other ruined-city in Ennon had canals and waterfalls? Quote
Sandy Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 Sandy, Fortaan had any canals in the city, with maybe a waterfall? If no, any other ruined-city in Ennon had canals and waterfalls? Why are you asking me? I've never actually built anything for Fortaan, so who am I to say what is in the city and what is not. Remember that we have this "first come, first served" -philosophy when creating stuff for the game world. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 CJP, is there anywhere where I can purchase some nostrums? Nope. No buying Nostrums! I hate 'em! And in the hands of a rogue it's terrible! There will be a few drops of them, but they are out of stock in Laticum. Quote

Remember that we have this "first come, first served" -philosophy when creating stuff for the game world. I ask you because: first, you are the supreme entity of the Heroica and second, maybe you have put the city in a particular location/context/environment, es. Fortaan is located in an arid plain (=without canals and water), or Fortaan is at the top of a mountain (=there is only snow and ice), or Fortaan is in a tropical environment. If you say "first come, first served", then I will establish that Fortaan is in temperate environment with water and canals Quote

Well, if you look at the map in the Library, you can see that Fortaan is located in a valley between mountains. That's as far as I've thought about it. Quote

Sandy Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 The sign-ups for Cruel Angel's Thesis are now open! Go ahead and join, you won't be disappointed. Quote

Looking forward to your entry. I might include a sort of flashback to the fall of Fortaan in my upcoming quest so it's good that you establish some of its looks. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Whilst writing my previous post, I noticed something quite odd. All Metasimian heroes have spent some of their first quest locked-up. Byblos apparently spent the majority of his first and only quest in a jail cell, Thothwick spent most of his first quest in the dungeons of Wren, and Hoptet, on what was technically his first quest, started off imprisoned in the menagerie! Brickdoctor Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Ooh, I think Fortaan would look great with something akin to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in it. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Cruel angel's thesis looks amazing! Though I'm pretty nervous. I've never played mafia before. Quote

Pandora Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I really, REALLY hope the Test Questers will make a cameo appearance...and possibly come join the game proper. I'm not sure about the others, but I've signed up, and I don't expect to play as Nyx. That doesn't mean Nyx and the other Test Questers can't make an appearance, but surely if the Nephilim had won (do win ) then they (the Test Quest characters) wouldn't still be alive as Heroes of Heroica, which they are. It'd be nice for this to be a storytelling bridge between the past, the Test Quest and the current day, though. Quote

The C.A.T. takes place before the Test Quest (and it's actually a reason that the Dragonlord took the time off to visit the Memorial Stone in Waldurk Forest in the first place), so Nyx and the others have yet to join the organization at that point. All the player characters in C.A.T. are my own creations for the purpose of the game. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Is there any way to view the test quest? Or is that confidential? I'm curious to see what went down. Quote
Endgame Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I believe that a lot of the mechanics were signicanty different, so it isn't public so as to not cause confusion. Also, 79ers, preview to future: I am currently preparing 4 completely different battles, one of thme being the obligatory boss. However, there is only 2 more battles in the quest. The quest will probably conclude early-to-mid Semptember. Quote

JimBee Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 The Unlimited Quest will get an update as soon as I get home tonight! Quote
Sandy Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 Quest #74 has now been updated with an epilogue that features the last major NPC that has not made an appearance in any quest yet: the Masked Man, the armoured leader of the Guild of Invision. Now that everyone has been introduced, it's probably time to start cutting down the numbers with a more heavy hand. Quote
