Sandy Posted August 2, 2014 Author Posted August 2, 2014 I wonder...I know that the rule is that you have to play at least one quest before you host one, but if there's a bunch of level 1s looking for a quest...and my quest is basically kill a few enemies(which could really be set at any level, as per their nature), and pick up a nice pile of easy loot...Hmm... What's the rush? The reason that rule is in effect is because you need to familiarize yourself with how this game works first hand before you can even dream of hosting a successful quest. Just reading about it won't do. Just take your time and be patient. If you really want to host a quest, you will most likely get your chance - you just need to get your driver's license first. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Boomingham raises an eyebrow at the strange man, but smiles quietly. ... Boomingham wanders away, feeling a little ill at ease with his friend who is always able to cut to the hearts of matters, minds and men so quickly. Boomingham's reaction is awesome. Quote
Sandy Posted August 2, 2014 Author Posted August 2, 2014 OOC: Do we have any good synonyms for undead beside zombie? It's starting to get a bit repetitive. How about animated corpse, forsaken, ghast, ghoul, living dead, revenant or walking dead, for starters? Quote
Wedge09 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 How about animated corpse, forsaken, ghast, ghoul, living dead, revenant or walking dead, for starters? Walking Dead, the TV series, I cought the mention? Quote
Flipz Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 In none of you have ever seen or heard of a Gypsy Dart (better known as a Swiss Arrow) before, I highly recommend you --they're really cool. Quote
KotZ Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 In none of you have ever seen or heard of a Gypsy Dart (better known as a Swiss Arrow) before, I highly recommend you --they're really cool. I have a feeling that's going to come in handy for Diana. Quote
Endgame Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Joeshmoe, I hadn't realized that Jeaux a) never learned The Stealer's name and b) never saw him unmasked. Gotta say, you're excellent at remembering character interactions. Quote
Duvors Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Sandy, the links to Reclaiming Glory and Fathers and Sons in the Archives both lead to the wrong quests. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 "Cluck cluck! Cockadoodledoo!!! [i am here on an errand from Old Mac himself, so you better listen up. The Fields of Glory are undergoing a renovation - or as I'd rather call it, a reINnovation. That is why I have to inform they are temporarily closed from visitors. Please watch the Quest Board for information about the opening date. Thank you!]" Any general estimates on when it will re-open? Just curious, as I'm guessing it will re-open and fill long before 103# ends. Of course, we're about to start the long night watch, but it's the one night... Of course, I'm sure Lupendi has a long and devious scheme to keep us occupied... I still think there was something up that chimney. Whatever it was, though, it flue the coop. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Why did I have to give a U'kin the main exposition of the quest. Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Because the complicated speech pattern of the U'kin which is complicated has gotten you addicted to the complicated addicting speech pattern of the U'kin. Quote
Flipz Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Why did I have to give a U'kin the main exposition of the quest. I feel your pain. Also: Then I ask: How often do you train Winged Warriors? "It depends what you mean. We teach our hatchlings to shoot before they can fly, and there are more hatchlings to teach every day! Once they've learned to walk the paths of the sky, reading the wind and feeling the flow of air, nothing can hide from us--then they are truly Winged Warriors." "If you mean outsiders, however, it has been many moons. We heard rumors of a tragically short-lived ogre named Zpilf who had been trained in our ways, but we have not heard of him or our kinsman Fleyra for more than three cycles of seasons now. Perhaps Fleyra has taught others, in her time abroad, but we have not heard news of it. We offered another group of Heroes who came to help us training, but none have returned to claim it. In truth, I hope for the chance to teach others of our ways. Perhaps one day soon, more opportunities to aid us will arise." QM Note: The Winged Warrior Expert Class is only available from certain Rito-themed Quests. If you're interested in the class (as, I must confess, I am), by all means join me in clamoring for QMs to offer it. Hint. Hint. Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I actually plan to have a few Rito down the line! No class option, unfortunately, due to reasons. Quote
Cutcobra Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 QM Note: The morning dawns when the other party's battle is done. I want to keep these two competing quests fair, so they will advance in a synchronized manner as much as possible. "Fair." Seriously though, how is one hero against seven more experienced heroes fair? Quote
Flipz Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 "Fair." Seriously though, how is one hero against seven more experienced heroes fair? Because the one hero just refuses to cooperate with the rest of them at all? Look how much the pace of the Quest has improved since the split. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I feel your pain. Also: Hint. Hint. I am with you but, it might be some time for me to be come one. Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Seriously though, how is one hero against seven more experienced heroes fair? Unikitty just has to give Throlar this: Extra Extra Extra Large Pixy Stick: Gives the consumer 14 turns per round. Quote
Flipz Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I am with you but, it might be some time for me to be come one. Naturally (you'd still have to reach Level 30 first, after all), but still. Clamor away so the other QMs have time to plan. Unikitty just has to give Throlar this: Extra Extra Extra Large Pixy Stick: Gives the consumer 14 turns per round. Which he then immediately sells to Guts. Quote
CMP Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I've brought it up before, but it's a real shame how Expert Class availability is so narrow. I'm taking the hint as a good sign that Winged Warrior will become available for a second time in the future, which is awesome. I'm determined to host at least three Quests that offer Marauder. Infiltrator will be offered when Strivvi is concluded I assume. How about Skirmisher, Harlot, and Regulator? Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Nah, because it spills and gets Lost Forever if Throlar gets KOed in his fight with the rest of 100. (For the record, DO NOT eat a giant Pixy Stick. I learned the hard way that eating too much sugar burns.) Edited August 3, 2014 by Endgame Quote

JimBee actually offered to let me hand WW out in 104, but I worried that the Quest reward + potential Shadeaux rep would be too much with Winged Warrior offered as well, so I turned it down. (I also wasn't sure if the party would take the option to see the Rito in the first place, but it looks like they did, so... ). I really want to see more Skirmishers, actually, in part because Skirmisher is supposed to be by nature part of a larger force, and it's just plain weird being a solo Skirmisher in Heroica. Quote
Cutcobra Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Because the one hero just refuses to cooperate with the rest of them at all? Look how much the pace of the Quest has improved since the split. Maybe it's just roleplaying. I don't think Lord Duvors was purposefully slowing the quest down by having his character make other decisions. I really hope someone like Elphaba joins his side or something to give him a fair chance at beating the other heroes. Quote

Flare Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Dammit why did you have to close the Unlimited Quest Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Hey, I'm actually quite looking forward to the overhaul. Quote
