gylman Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Some of you SW people and space fans might find this bricklink store worthwhile. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=sith35 I don't know the seller, nor have I done business with them, but feedback seems good, and when I saw the items I immediately thought of some of the EB SW fans. Enjoy.

Enjoy. hm... i think the helmets are pretty cool, but you can see on the pictures that they still need some more work once you've bought them: they still have parts of the plastic skeleton attached to them. you're gonna have to remove those, the only problem is that that particular spot on your weapon isn't painted :-X
Jipay Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Welcome to the fabulous world of modelism :-D Actually if well removed, the stuff should be from the orginal plastic color. Use a modelist knife. This is usually not an issue for non AFOLs as the models are repainted X-O
sith35 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Hello everyone, I browse your forums a few times a week. Just never felt the call to register. I saw this post and felt it was a good time to say hello. hm... i think the helmets are pretty cool, but you can see on the pictures that they still need some more work once you've bought them: they still have parts of the plastic skeleton attached to them. you're gonna have to remove those, the only problem is that that particular spot on your weapon isn't painted All of our pieces are factory molded. They arrive to us on the sprue. We do our best to make sure they are clean before they are shipped out. By the sounds of it, better pictures are needed to be put up. And gylman, thanks for posting this. Chris.
gylman Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 LOL. That will be 2.9% of all future sales to EB members.... :-P Early retiredment, here I come! Kidding. I'm not a space guy myself, but I thought a few of the guys here might enjoy putting some of these into their MOCs. Cheers. Gyl

And gylman, thanks for posting this. Chris. adding pics of the parts from other angles would be great, so we can have a good idea of the entire part. now that i'm working on this shield contest at mcn, i'm kinda thinking of building an army of crusaders next year, so i'll probably be buying some stuff in a few month's time... i'd most defintely be painting the parts though... still, i've got two questions: how strong is the handle of these shields? Sometimes things like that seem quite fragile how easy is it to add stickers/decals to this plastic? I seem to remember that plastic not always 'hold' these things... are you guys customising these parts yourself as well, like painting, adding stickers,...?

I seem to remember that plastic not always 'hold' these things... are you guys customising these parts yourself as well, like painting, adding stickers,...? Here is a pic of the shield and the handle. It is a two piece item. The peg will fit snug, but after repeated removal it will become loose. We suggest to use a very small drop of plastic safe hobby glue/super glue. But at first decide for youself if you want it left handed or right handed. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/sith35/B...ink/shield1.jpg Now when it comes to paint. There are a few things. The easiest is to prep the piece. Basically just mild dish soap and water. Give it a wash and the paint will stick better. You can always prime the piece first. I know games workshop has a plastic safe spray paint that works great for priming. Also I have heard about a new spary by krylon I believe called plasticoat. I have not used it yet, but I plan on it. It is designed to stick to plastics that have problem bonding with paint. As far as decals go. I have not done too much at all with decals. So I am not going to try and answer that question for you. But, my best guess would be if a decal is having a hard time sticking to the surface. I would prep it with dish soap and water. Dry it well and give it a try. Chris.

Starwars4J Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I actually have not only a full set of the chrome blasters, but the great helm, armor, and more. His quality is SUPERB. I actually made a poll here for EBers to vote for LA's Gream Helm vs. Armothe's Gream helm. Sith35 sells LA items now, for those who don't know. The armor is a bit of a pain, and the shields aren't my favorite, but I love his great helm, and all items are sturdy and well-made. As for the chrome guns? I love them! If only chroming wasn't so expensive I'd buy more to outfit my entire army!
