Beard-five BoB!

So yea...would it be inappropriate for me to start collecting things like that, and make a topic or should I make some puppy-eyes to a Mod and/or other (ranking) member?

Made a topic for sigfigs here, hope you guys like it :)

I haven't seen puppy eyes yet. But that's something for book II. Than all members have to sign up (again) in the guild they want to be in. And than it's easier to collect all the sigfigs.

Is mine one of them? I think both characters have the same hair and a brown moustache/beard, but nothing much else similar. My character looks a lot like Besdarc Menteno though.

He does, but he's waering a hood most of the time. But he's more a personal sigfig than one I'm using in Mitgardia a lot: Elon Chorian is:

those trees are just fantastic, as is everything else! And, I see red two by one plates, really cool!

As for myself, while waiting for the arrival of some bricks to finish module three, I started the construction of modules 4 and 5 of Thorshaven!

Wow! Is it modular? It looks really hard to move! Can't wait to see the final version.

Fellow heroes, we need your help:

While you are all waiting anxiously for book two, the community story build is on its way. We have three intertwining plot-lines that you can find here: Collecting the Pieces, Retracing our Steps, and Family Heirloom. You can join as many as you have time to participate in. Help bring Dugal back from the dead and tour all or Historica, It should be fun!

Cool build, it looks amazing! All your builds are highly detailed, and this one is no exception. Awesome doors, like the detail-shields on it. I also like that the fortress is build on rocks. Some more pics would be nice though.

Regulator duties here... I would appreciate it if you guys didn't quote pictures unless you are quoting a picture to ask a question about it. It makes the forum harder to read, especially on a mobile device, if the same picture shows up in 6 posts in a row!

The picture is quite lovely though. I like the dark red and dark brown combo up top. One thing I would ask Ecc though- because SNOT doesn't perfectly cover the gaps, you can see the light bluish gray shining through... maybe try using black underneath the dark brown to cover it up a bit more?

I have the same problem, but normally castle builders just have way more light bluish grey/dark bluish grey 1x1's with studs on the side and in real life it doesn't look as "bad" as it does on the pics .

Do you like that all the minifigs are different or is it better when some look the same that it gives more an army look? I never can decide which way to go :look:.

I like them more uniform personally, at least certain ranks. I do think the lowest rank can be totally random, so maybe a little mash-up would work well.

Yeah, me neither. I do like a bit more uniformity though. I'd like to take a pic my army soon.

And that one too ofcourse!

Not sure, I like to make things modular but I don't think I have time to do that. And it is indeed really hard to move. Normally I build on baseplates so you have a one piece base. But it will be connected to other castles/villages from my lug so they decided to build it on plates...

That's great Ecc, I'm so happy I will see this live at Skaerbaek

Good to hear you'll be there again as well!

I already changed it, normally I use black in the first place and as Buurli said it doesn't look that bad in daylight. I didn't notice my mistake untill the flash from my camera revealed the color difference.

Yours is looking fine, especially because most medieval armies didn't look exactly the same. Although I like a standard uniform:

What we REALLY need is a dk brown travis brick... and the 1 x 1 plates to go with it!!

I like them. I don't think every army needs a uniform, and this does look like an eclectic group of irregulars. I tend to build armies of like uniforms, but sometimes you just have to let the chaos flow!

It fits my idea of how Mitgardia is (at least some parts of it) that its soldiers is more like a band of warriors using their own weapons and armor, united by common interest rather than drafted conscripts/hired soldiers with identical equipment provided by their leader.

I say go for the irregular look! :classic:

Nice army! I'm of a mixed opinion on the uniformity question I guess. I like my "regular" Mitgardian army figs to have the typical (Ecc's figs) uniform--a grey-colored helmet, grey/brown legs, green arms and a chain mail torso pattern. Which chain mail pattern, I don't really care as I figure individual soldiers would customize straps, belts, tunics, etc to suit their tastes. I like my "Norse" figs to be pretty random--but they MUST carry axes!

My army has finally some uniformity :) not because they all wear the same clothes, but because every group has for example the same weapon, shield and helmet :)

So the torsos (and sometimes the colours of the weapon, helmet or shield) is different, but it has a cool uniform look of a bunch of mercenary soldiers :)

Only every knight of my famous Alleenridders (who already have been blogged :D ) is unique and different than the other knights :)

I like the look of your army, nice and ragtaggy!

I know mine will be rather uniform(but that fits with the background story I have in my head)

Now all I need is my own spot for my lego...(just moved into a new home)
