ha a bear, when did this start? I was always sort of fixated on the wolf and thus thought the wolf pack members would make great Mitgardians. Anyway, the bear is fine with me, only problem is that there are no bear shields or torsos ...

But there are none in Mitgardia colours...

arrgh, not getting these sets whole, so it's gonna be the shields only

So Mitgardians, what do you think, shall we make a wall segment a requirement for all new members of Mitgardia?

I have two of the triangular red bear shields, which haven't found a use for years, so shoot me a PM with your adress .

To the wall segments: I don't think so... I haven't done one by myself . I think creating a Sigfig and writing a short story is enough for the start :sadnew:.

alright, maybe just a strong ecouragement then ... anyway, I think that we should also move beyound just the wall segments once they are all build up and choose something new for a community build

Great idea! A colonization of a mountain? A defensive build up? MAybe even something to give the dwarves some attention... a volcanoe forge?! The possibilties are endless... almost.

Maybe in the wall thread someone mentioned building the inside of Valholl, not just the walls. How about that?

Agreed that gives us more inspiration for builds, i'll update the map tomorrow with numbers inside the city!

Can I join?

Ofcourse, most welcome.

Just make a sigfig/character and start building!

I already do have a whole bunch of buildings in the inside though (including the thing hall), maybe you could include them in your map

I have a quick building question. I am trying (and failing miserably) to figure out a way to make a pillar that is 2.5 bricks wide (20mm) on each side. 19.2 or 20.8mm is the closest I can figure and won't work for my purposes. Any ideas? It may not be possible but I figured I should ask here before completely giving it up.

@legofin: yes, of course, you'll find the link to the map and the traveller's guide to Mitgardia on the first page!

@sb: I don't fully understand what you mean ...

@Strongbad: I'm guessing some sort of SNOT is the only way you're going to achieve a square pillar 2.5 bricks wide. Some pictures would help us see what you're trying to achieve :classic:

Does it have to look good or is stability a must be? Also, why does it need to be 20mm wide? Do you want to combine it with some not LEGO stuff?

I have an Idea... will post pics of it later, as soon as I'm @ Home

I can think of a technique involving two 1x2 jumper plates and one 2x2 jumper plate at the bottom and then either leaving it as a 4-part pillar or filling in most of the gaps with snotted tiles/plates (if they fit).

But doing an entirely flat-surfaced 2.5x2.5 stud pillar without any gaps sounds hard...

Went to my Lego store yesterday! Nothing good new in the PaB wall, but they had Series Ten, new Castle sets, Chima ultrabuilds and new Herofactory! I got the smallest Castle set. I also found out that they had dark red capes in the Minifig building station! I got 15 for $10! I also got the Iron Man promotion!

I got four Roman Commanders. I'll use them for the elite Cedrican warriors. :classic:

Thanks to all of you who have offered suggestions and asked for clarification of my problem. I'll try to explain what I am attempting and include a picture. I've been playing around with these in a mosaic. An almost square of four of them fits neatly into a space 2.5 studs wide and two studs high (20mm x 19.2mm) so a pillar that is 2.5 studs on each side would allow me to cover each side, making my pillar 4.5 studs wide after adding the triangles. On my gate, I simply went five studs wide and avoided the whole 2.5 problem but I was going to try and make narrow pillars using this same technique. It occurred to me today while thinking on this that it may be more feasible to make a pillar that is 19.2mm on each side and then make the height a multiple of 20 but I just got home from work and haven't tried anything yet.

Soccerkid, I can't wait to give that sucker a closer look. I'm happy to see an interest in dwarves around here. :classic:

Infernum, you are making me green with envy. :dsweet:

Whenever I finally make it to the Lego store next month, I am going to have some really tough decisions to make.

(snipped links to shields)

But there are none in Mitgardia colours...

The 'monkey' shield from kingdoms is in our colors and has always looked more like a bear to me anyhow.

Sounds like some great loot, too bad there weren't any good parts on the PaB though.
