So... I may have went overboard on building quick terrain and scenery for the battle....

I went upstairs four hours ago to build three quick tudor looking buildings... ended up building the Forum of Queenscross and the Tower of the Old Kings. Before I blow them up in the battle, I will make sure to get better pictures -- maybe I can use one for an emergency CH 6 build!

I get where you are coming from Ska. Though my current project, Visiting Herbologists, isn't on the scale of yours, it is eating into my time and focus for any Challenge VI builds. I may do something to have my characters engaged in the fight, but not actually enter the contest.

Visiting Herbologists is 48x64, and I am currently working on the landscape. I have come up with a few ways to make some interesting plants, but need to build the land up to make them work. I hope I have enough cheese slopes to make this vision in my head work.

@Ska That definitely looks better. I especially like the building in the front-right. Looks like your gonna have some fun.

There is actually a raised podium in the middle of the forum (that building)... I think the defiler may have found her hiding spot... haha.

Here's a quick build I did, do you guys think I should give it a topic? Probably not as it's so small.

And I have a free build coming soon (just need to write the story), and after that is Challenge VI (ditto).

Nice little micro build! I suppose it is showing one of our water-powered industrial facilities aiding in the war effort?

Thanks, yeah, some sort of waterwheel. It was actually pretty hard to keep the black stud from rolling off while I was trying to photograph it...

Here is a small vignette I put together yesterday, showing one of my side characters named Emad ibn Sohail al-Haboob riding into Petraea through one of the smaller city gates.

He is a wealthy and definitely untrustworthy merchant and a good friend and business partner of Sir Gideon. Emad has a very slow temper, but can be terrible when pushed to anger and go to extreme measures to punish those who have wronged him. This has earned him his nickname, meaning "the sudden sandstorm", a name he has adopted as his surname since it gives him useful respect in his business counterparts.

The hard life of a Kaliphlin merchant has made him quite used to the sword as well, even though he definitely prefers to pay others to do the fighting for him.

Looks nice Gideon, especially the wall over the doorway! The top of the rest of the wall looks somewhat odd (not normally what you would see on top of a wall) but good nevertheless.

Well, it wasn't supposed to be a wall but the edge of a roof of a building along the street.

Ah I see. Didn't get that the first time!

I didn't put too much time into this, I actually built it quickly for a mini-challenge over at Swebrick (supposedly showing a historical event, but I take every chance I get to build in Kaliphlin style nowadays).

I was sitting in front of the TV upstairs where I had a few bins of bricks from my recent MOCing (which I will post here soon as well) and didn't bother to go downstairs to pick up some dark red or other "roof tile" colored slopes

I changed the location of some buildings, which will result normally in a much nicer and more detailed city (once it is finally finished).

So the new lay-out of Mpya Stedor (the inner city  )

The white buildings are the gates, walls, towers, palace (in the upper right corner) and temple (in the middle)

I love the scale of your project!

However, the sketch seems a bit too orthogonal to me. If you plan to render it fully in bricks I think it would be even better to try some more irregular patterns.

On another note, I have posted a MOC for another of my small factions now. More pictures here.

(amazing tower)

It looks orthogonal, because every square on the plan is 8x8 studs. Normally in real life, it won't be that orthogonal :classic:

So, how's everyones Challenge 6 progress going? I am nearly done with most of mine, however the large battle scene that I had planned will have to be a smaller battle now. It turns out that I was hit by Identity theives and they hit my account pretty good before the bank shut it down. But, now I'm waiting to get the charges reversed and new cards for my bank account that work. Not sure if anyone else has had that happen, but that sucks! Anyway, I can't buy anything right now, so I won't have as many figs in the battle as I originally planned.

Kayne, that really sucks, I am sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking, do you know how they got you? I have had my credit cards stolen without ever finding out how they got the numbers, as far as i know I have not lost my SS#.

If you were around here (TX) I would loan you some figs!

Haven't figured out yet who or how it was done, the fraud department at my bank says they most likely will not find it out either. I checked everything else in my name and it all seems good for now. Since it was just our debit cards(we don't use credit) that were compromised, but not the bank account number I am assuming there was some sort of reader at a gas station or something that stored card numbers. Then I'm guessing whoever got it sold it online since there were charges in California, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Illinois all in the same night.

Yup, I have some of it back already, still waiting on the rest. But, we have no debit cards to use for a week or two. So.....no lego purchases unless I take out more cash. Just focusing on groceries and gas for now!

I know how you feel Kayne, I had something similar happen to me a few years ago. I was with Bank of America at that time, and was just checking my account online, when I noticed a suspicious nearly $50 charge. I called my bank's fraud report number, read off the item, and was told that the money would be refunded within two days. I had to go in to a close branch the next business day (I reported the fraud on a Saturday) to get a temporary debit card, and the company would mail me a new card in a few weeks.

I have since left Bank of America for a new bank (in response to rate hikes) that has now merged with another bank.

In response to the question about Challenge VI, I may not actually to enter. Visiting Herbologists has taken up more time than I anticipated.
