Here is an auction going on ebay that I am watching. I think this is a good looking recreation of Captain Jack Sparrow. It is currently going for $4.25 and I may bid on it.

POTC 2 was horrid!!!

Yes Davy Jones and crew looked cool from some perspective but I don't think I'd buy the minifigs as I am still in mourning for how bad the film was in comparison to the first movie!

I waited months and months to watch that movie because I was too busy travelling and when I finally bought the DVD and watched it I really considered taking it back to the store to get my money back! >:-(

Prepare the gallows or some othe incredivly painfull method of exacution. *Wink-wink, Nudge-nudge*

I would just like to ask everyone to not bid on Captain Jack Sparrow, as it could only make me pay that much more for it. *sweet*

1. I don't really like Lego customization that much

2. I really don't need a custom potc minifig, what am I going to do, 'play' with it?

3. If I were to buy a custom minifig it would not be from a, to a point, silly (please don't shoot me yet) fictitious series of films but some thing more serious I could use for MOCs, A Roman soldier, for example.

BTW, Is'nt 'maby' [sic] supposed to be spelled like m-a-y-b-e? Although I've seen that spelling before somewhere recently.........I thought there was only one way to spell it. (?)

You're very right, I can't agree more!

The films are okay to see, I do like them, but I'm not so interested in LEGO form, you are so right: What am I going to do, "play' with it?

Yes, It's supposed to be maybe... I noticed I made the maby mistake in one of my post recently...

I voted for I would need to see it, but now sinse I read oo7's post I wish I could delete my vote and vote for NO.

Heh. From "I'll only buy them if I see they're really good" to "Wow, Helden's post inspired me, I'll definitely buy them!" to "Yeah, that's dumb, why on earth would I buy an overpriced custom fig to play with?". X-D

Anyways, thanks for the Idolatrous commendation, guys. Excuse me while I go wallow in pride, complacence, and vainglory.

At the end of this auction, this jack sparrow custom sold for about 45 USD!

I was surprised when my bro told me.

So if one were to sell davy jones, they might sell real high like jack sparrow did.

Also, Vader is making a davy jones also,

so you may want to see how his is turning out so far.

I'd need to see them. As much as I love mutant pirates (and ANY Lego Pirates) the special molds might be a little restrictive in MOCs.

What am I going to do, "play' with it?

Yeah, pretty much. In fact, thats why you would buy a Lego set in the first place, for playing and or ammusment. So yes, you would play with it, not just by throwing it around and going 'boom!', but by just positioning them in your models. In fact, when you build, if you are happy with that model, you are playing in a sense.

Exactly, but the real question is- What do you do with official minifigs? If you don't use minifigs at all, that is a valid point. Or if you don't like monsters or POTC then it's understandable that you wouldn't want one.

Currently I wouldn't buy one, as I have made my own of sufficient quality to my liking :-P although I think your(Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's) hat is superior to mine or anything else thus far. ;-)

Well, even if you don't occasionly take your models and do a battle (Before the begining of both their reconstruction, Fort Victoria and the Sabre would routinely do battle for the Governor's entertainment), Surely you would use minifigs for display value.

Just a thought: I've seen the Toyfair pics of the 2007 Bionicle playsets, and the Toa Mahri and Baraaki minifigures might be great in a MOC as Davy and Co.

Placing a minifig on the baseplate is not building nor playing.
