Just saw this and noted of the interesting new images too! I am sure even though there are some re-hash of some designs but those re-hash designs are meant to integrate and complement with the existing ones and not replacing it. I always tend to think there ought to be a new design like a partner in crime.

...Also is anyone getting tired of seeing the Scientist's hairpiece? :sceptic: It's by far the most overused piece from the Lego minifigures line.

You're right, this hair is getting super overused! I liked it at first, but man. Your post inspired me to write a little song.

So here it is, a little parody of the

.

Now this is a story all about how

The scientist hair piece is overused now

And I’d liked to take a minute just sit right there

You see the piece is overused and LEGO’s aware

In series 1 it was born and raised

On the nurse figure was where it was those days

Brand new, brown, and looking all cool,

A popular piece, it made AFOLs drool,

When Series 3 came, it was used more than it should

Its release in orange was actually good

It was in one more series, people got scared

And people shouted “You know what’s overused? This hair!”

We begged and pleaded together day after day

Questioned ourselves, said “no way!”

The prelim got leaked for 5,

With the hair piece, that zoo keeper was not a buy!

First thought, “hey this is bad!”

But y'know, that figure's decent and still is bought

Is this the all the colors that will be available?

Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait there’s of a Dino set with that

Is this set the last time we will set this ponytail crap?

I don't think so

This is becoming a piece I can’t bare

Ugh- Hall, Palace, what’s with this hair?

Well, that special Series GB then came out

There were two in there- which was crazy, and made me want to shout

The skier for sure was not near a must get

I still got her

She’s a pretty common one from Series 8 from what I heard

Nobody wanted another, but it came here

As a reprint in a pack which was so weird

If anything, I agree 'Honorable’- I’m tired of that hair

It was in eight regular sets too, yeah not so rare

I pulled back when I heard it's in 11

I’m complaining ‘bout it now, I guess I’m a hater

Looking back at it

It makes me stare

Why the heck is LEGO so obsessed with this minifigure hair?

Wait, what? The Scientist hair is in black!? Forget what I just wrote. I didn't get Team GB.

Beautiful Rap, Just2Good! I agree, I'd like a different hairpiece, but that fig is still a must-buy for me... Likely in multiples. I hope we get a non-mad male scientist eventually too, but I'm more than pleased this one's a girl (and not called 'woman scientist' or something like that.) Lego needs more female characters! I'm particularly glad for some of the more 'intense' looking female heads this line has produced, beauties like the Viking Woman, Roller-Skater, and the Woman Warrior's heads.

Very nice rap, my friend. That piece is over used!

Beautiful Rap, Just2Good!

Thank y'all! It took me around an hour to write, but I had nothing better to do on this rainy Saturday Thursday down here in South Florida.

Is it wrong that I actually love that hairpiece?

I like it too. I might of over-dramatized the situation of AFOLs reaction to the piece.

I actually really like the Scientist figure myself, as long as they put black hair. Can't wait to see more!

It looks dark brown to me. I don't dislike the hairpiece (heck, any hair that works with a cape is fine by me), but I just feel like another hairpiece would have been nice. Filling out the colours of this one piece is fine though. I don't mind it. (What I'd really like is some white hair. There's not enough white and grey hair out there.)

I don't see the CM 6 skater girl's hair in the rap!

I like this hairpiece as well, and it was used always with different colors in the CM line so far. And for the lab girl, it is necessary to have it in a polytail, you cannot work with fluttering hair!

If I think about it, it was always used for sporting ladies and ones who wanted to prevent their hair to hang into something (body fluid/monkey food).

The funny thing is I never noticed the hair piece was over used...

But that's true about situations where you can't have free falling hair, this being one of them.

Mods, if I'm out of line, I freely apologize, but I'm beginning to think this thread would be much more enjoyable if a single reader didn't vote himself its de facto moderator / host and treat it like his own personal CM blog... Is it completely necessary to personally respond to every comment or observation?

I don't know if this is just the preferred method to stack up almost 600 posts in 3 months, or if there's a higher level of AFOL-related narcissism at play... But it's simply redundant and non-contributory to what is usually an enjoyable community experience. And I know I'm not the only one who's grown frustrated with it. Perhaps this reader might consider creating his own blog or web site as a more proper venue for such frequent and occasionally uninformed opinions?

There are tactful and dignified ways to tell someone they're annoying and humiliating them publicly like this is rude. You could have privately messaged him and asked him to slow down.

Perhaps I should use the report button on you for bullying? Sure, they're enthusiastic but that doesn't mean you need to talk about him like he doesn't exist. "A certain person" Not nice, dude. Have some respect for others, he clearly does by wanting to chat to others, you just want to shut him down. The polite thing to do would have been to ask him nicely not treat him like something the dog did inside. How old are you? 10? Poor guy's just trying to relate to others, you were out of line.

I knew I missed one. Darn it! That is my favorite too... the Twilight Sparkle hair!

Really good point with the Scientist hair. It all makes sense now! :oh3:

Yes, you should have used the report button instead of venting in thread. Whatever the reason it's always preferable to report any issues and let Moderators deal with them privately. The same goes for Mr. Elijah Timms. Please don't resort to mini-modding.

Maybe sometimes people need to learn a lesson on how to treat others. Happens far too often on this site. High and mighty attitudes from others. We come here to meet and chat with others with our shared tastes, not to be put in our place, how about focus your words towards those bullies and not me who is merely standing up to them.

I'm anything but a bully. I did cross the line with that whole 'narcissistic' bit, and for that, I apologize to 'BrickMario.'

In the future I will follow the directives laid out by site mods and welcome any friendly discussion among fellow enthusiasts, in PM if it's more appropriate. I'll say nothing more and apologize to readers for my role in the distraction created.

Thank you, we're all here coz we have something in common, no use tearing each other apart, aye!

On that note, any clue when a series 12 thread will be opened I want to put my guess list on!

Actually, I think I made one back when these lists were found, but it was locked up.

I think we both learned our lessons. Let's forget it ever happened, shall we?
