Thelegomaster Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Constraction Ninjas... There is something I am also surprised not to see. Maybe it will be some future thing, the reason for them in Chima is the "chi" after all, maybe some new power would result in giant Ninja? Maybe it doesn't have to be a new power, it could be like the DC/Marvel Ultra-Builds, but LEGO would more than likely go with giant ninja power... Quote
Corydoras Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Ninjas ar more or less associated with loose robes, scarfs and the like, a feel which (I guess) would be a bit hard to recreate with constraction/HF parts. Quote
legofreak86 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) I love the look of the "battle for ninjago city" From the brick show's video. I'm glad to see the overlord in a set and with his own body this time! Its good I think that jay, Lloyd and Zane all have new variants in that set as it makes the set more worth the price tag (£89.99 in the UK according to brickset) as for your money you get a very large detailed monastery, the spider mech thing a zip line, a gate, a glider and a decent sized tree. On top of that you get three new ninja variants, a new samurai X, three nindroids and the first ever Lego overlord!! I have only just started buying ninjago as I got my first ninjago set "the temple of light" on Tuesday but since I got Netflix I have watched from way of the ninja- art of the silent fist (had to watch rebooted online as is not on Netflix). As the Marvel/DC sets of the early months don't really interest me, I've switched to ninjago which seem more creative and less limited! Still got to catch up on the rest of the 2013 wave but then I'll move on to the 2014 stuff soon. I hope ninjago continues past 2014 as it is no mystery why its one of Lego's most successful themes! I haven't been so transfixed in getting all of the characters in a theme since the mask of light bionicle theme. Ninjago is a lot like bionicle story wise if you think about it. Overlord= Makuta evil obsessed with shadow. Golden Ninja=Takanuva toa of light,First spinjitsu master= Mata nui person who created world. Then the ninja have similar abilities and personas to the original toa team. Just something to ponder there. Edited March 7, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Is it just me or are dd the tree in the Battle for Ninjago City change...I pics from the nurenburg toy fair and te NYC toyfair look as if they show a totally different tree. Quote

Pretty sure it's just set up differently. The way the leaf sections are hinged allows for a little bit of movement, and some configurations are going to look better than others. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Look at the bases of the tree from both sets. The one from the NYCTF looks significantly smaller. Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Someone asked about ultrabuild ninjas? -Sci Oh hey you did it before me, I was just about to let people who go on this topic know that I have some Ninjago Knockoff and I have made a Review on them. Quote
Thelegomaster Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Someone asked about ultrabuild ninjas? -Sci those look sweet!!! Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 those look sweet!!! Indeed, sadly there was not a Green Ninja and a Black Ninja Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 So was reading Night of The Nindroids and in the front cover they had the image from the austialian Lego Magazine. The one with the Tower and the Dragon and such, but this one was slighty different. Cole, instead of having the flail, he had a double bladed techno blade. While Papercutz tends to lean away from the TV storyline, I just thought it was an interesting tid-bit. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 A new video game was announced today titled Lego Ninjago: Nindroids. You can find more information about this game, as well as discuss the game in this thread here. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Sorry for the double post (it's been several days since my previous one) While looking at the product catalog that has been circulating around the forums, I noticed that Battle for Ninjago City includes an extra pair of legs, meaning that the Overlord does directly connect to his mech, but he also has a pair of legs when he climbs out. http://www.jeditempl...lBook_LoRes.pdf"]Look at page 52[/url] Also for those of you who don't know: 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger-$39.99USD 70728 Battle for Ninjago City-$119.99USD Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I hope those legs get printed. It would not look nice otherwise. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) I hope those legs get printed. It would not look nice otherwise. Sorry for the broken link The legs appear to be the generic black pants without print. Edited March 31, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Shakar Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 If it's the same catalog we're talking about, it does feature many sets in their preliminary stage. I remember the silver 5M shells in the spider mech in the HF Queen Beast set being unprinted, whereas they're printed in the final set. Hopefully it's the same for the OL's legs. Quote
DuckBricks Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Episode 29 the Blackout is available in Korean on the LEGO Youtube channel, just an FYI Quote

DraikNova Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I hope we get a pre-possession Cyrus Borg fig. Apart from Nya's non-armor attire, which seems unlikely, that's one of the few character designs we've seen with no real life counterpart. Quote
Aanchir Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I hope we get a pre-possession Cyrus Borg fig. Apart from Nya's non-armor attire, which seems unlikely, that's one of the few character designs we've seen with no real life counterpart. A pre-possession Cyrus Borg figure would be cool, but I actually think Nya is more likely because she's been a main character throughout the entire run of the series. The only real mark against her is that she's a female character in a boy-oriented franchise, but it seems like the LEGO Group has become a bit more aware of the size of Ninjago's female audience during the theme's hiatus. Cyrus Borg is not only a brand-new secondary character, but he's also neither a ninja or a samurai, and in a theme that's primarily about ninja, that's a serious mark against him. Of course, it could be a new main character costume that catches us by surprise. Remember, we got our first glimpses of the Lloyd minifigure from the character encyclopedia long before he got that costume in the actual show. I don't think a new costume for Zane or Lloyd is likely simply because we've already got three Zane variants and two Lloyd variants this year, but perhaps we'll see a new costume for Sensei Wu after he's freed from the Overlord's control. Freddy Bricker Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Zane's dad(Professor Julian) is another option. That is of course, assuming he appears this season, and isn't he dead? I would personally love a Misako, but unfortunately find her very unlikely since, as stated in the past, not many kids et excited about old woman figures. Quote
Lyichir Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If I had to guess as to which character will be released with the new encyclopedia, I'd guess Lloyd, Kai, or possibly Zane. Zane is less likely due to already having three appearances in this year's sets, but a more golden-themed Lloyd or a second version of Kai would both be viable options. As nice as a more obscure character like Dareth, Cyrus Borg, or the other suggestions would be, book-exclusive figs are almost always primary characters, and those three ninja are the ones who most fit the bill. I'm still holding out hope that we might see a D2C Borg Tower set later in the year, possibly including a pre-Overlord Cyrus Borg or Nya in her new non-Samurai attire. Quote
