LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

I'm hoping it's an X-Wing with a (decent) hanger bay.

You can never have too many X-Wings, and it could have some great minifigures included.

I'm hoping for a new Rebel mechanic so I can make a new version of Bespin Luke.

As nice as a UCS or minifig scale X-Wing may sound to some, I really, really, really doubt there is any truth to this rumor. I mean, why would LEGO release another model of a ship that is still on the shelves (9493)? Sure, if it's a UCS, it's geared towards adult collectors who would probably eat it up, but still, from a business standpoint it just doesn't make sense. Why compete with your own products or create consumer confusion? It would be like if in the next wave LEGO released a System B-Wing while the just released UCS B-Wing is still sitting on the shelves. I really don't think we'll see a UCS X-Wing until the current System set has been retired for a few years.

Also, I REALLY doubt that this rumored set is the current X-Wing model with a fancy hanger and more minifigs tacked on. Could you imagine how upset the AFOLs/kids/parents who bought 9493 would be if LEGO did that?

Although I understand that some fans may be pissed off, this wouldn't be the first time LEGO had 2 sets of a particular vehicle out at the same time. The Motorized AT-AT (10178) and AT-AT (8129) were simultaneously on the shelves of retailers (TRU) and S@H the 2nd half of 2010. I can care less either way if this rumor turns out to be true.

The Red Leader X-wing could be similar to the 2012 one though and remember there was more than one X-wing in both Death Star attacks....kids want a choice of vehicles to go to battle with !

Maybe it will come with a crane to load/unload R2 units ?

The Motorized AT-AT (10178) and AT-AT (8129) were simultaneously on the shelves of retailers (TRU) and S@H the 2nd half of 2010. I can care less either way if this rumor turns out to be true.

It's got nothing to do with the fans, it's about maximising sales. Few parents would buy both types of X-Wing for young Jimmybricks, so you'd end up with the cost of developing two sets and the sales of one, especially considering one is half the price of the other. No, the two sets need to offer something drastically different, or to appeal to very different markets. For example, right now you can buy either a £10 mini B-Wing or a £170 UCS B-Wing.

Or we could finally get a set based on Bespin with Bespin Luke after roughly ten years of nothing (or Slave Ones if you are generous).

BARCs (and Speederbikes, too) are much smaller than X-Wings and come as extras with bigger models. This is a widely different situation than with the X-Wings, if it is minifig scaled.

I believe that was unintentional. On S@H the motorized one was taken from the site a few months before the release of 8129 and the retailers probably couldn´t sell all of the old ones before the release of the new version.

I thought for they included the red and white 1x1 plates for the choice aspect in the 2012 version.

I'd be in for another x-wing. Put some different droids, Wedge, Biggs, and some hanger equipment in the set. Of course, I still haven't bought the last X-wing yet, but it's getting high on my list.

These are all made from pieces in my inventory no official instructions were used however official inventories were used.

Some pieces may be out of place (The gauntlet has 2 white 1x2 plates I couldn't seem to find a use for, MHC has multiple ways to get the same shape for innards)

The teeth are used for landing gear I think that is a first for a mini ship isn't it?

Also alot of ppl were knocking the MHC it is alot better when actually built I was even thinking what are they thinking but once you add the legs it evens out pretty nicely

I just wish lego would have done the 1x1 round tiles on the Gauntlet I am sure they could find a use for them in some set (if they didn't make them at the time) they used the tiles in the ARC is the funny thing

The Motorized AT-AT (10178) was available at S@H through Dec 2010. I know because I had been holding out on 10178 and finally purchased it right before Christmas when S@H had that massive 50% off sale that year. The 8129 AT-AT became available in Summer 2010. I agree with you though, this was probably unintentional.

I've only seen them on Barnes and Noble with a ship date of March. Stores here have been offloading their series 1 & 2. I suspect they will be coming very soon. Anyone else seen this?

10xxx would suggest UCS, but 99 euro isn't much different from the current X-Wing RRP, so perhaps a playset with support staff and loading gantry etc?

The Tantive IV had a 10xxx number.

I would be happy with a more expensive but accurate System-scale X-Wing.

I previously mentioned that I had phoned TRU and was told the Winter wave would be in stock around Feb time... As I also guessed, it appears it is now in TRU (UK) earlier than told, as I have just got my first Sith troopers v Clones BP from them (Portsmouth store). They also had everything else from the Winter wave there too, however at no reduced prices.

I might have to grab that microsnowspeeder+Hoth set hmmm, i really love the Snowspeeder as a ship but don't own one yet since the only one that really does it justice seems to be the UCS version which is OOP and too expensive now :( hoping for another someday!
