Hi.

I was wondering whether base plates can be decorated, for example, the runway base plate in the lego city airport, as in just painting the smooth part grey for concrete and the rest green for grass?

Thanks :)

Hi Lozza9, why don't you introduce yourself first?! Welcome to Eurobricks b.t.w.

What are your interests in LEGO?!

Of course base plates could be decorated... but there are more than one options of course. You could put decals or stickers on them. The problem with paint on such a parts is that it will come off easily... maybe if you airbrush it it isn't that problematic (since you would have a very thin layer), but it requires special equipment and a solid hand!

Here is an old and long-dead topic on it:

Same problem was stated there as you can see!

Sorry :) I did not realise that I had to introduce myself. My name is Laurie, I live in England and I love to create using Lego. I am currently working on a Lego City in Lego Digital Designer :)

Thanks for your reply JopieK. I read the topic you posted but I meant for Lego Digital Designer, not in real life, sorry :(. I forgot to add LDD in the title and tags, I was up late last night and had had a long day haha.
