Try moving into a new house in the middle of a challenge (especially my first one)! I have lots of ideas for the challenge and other freebuilds, but no tangible visual other than my brainstorm sketches. It is hard to get the pieces moving in the right direction when they are bulk packaged in boxes and my only building area has been otherwise occupied! It looks like I will not be completing my move in until after January 1st, so my challenge ideas may end up freebuilds after the deadline :sceptic: .

My main restriction when I have space to build is only finding the time to move my ideas from my head to the physical brick.

I might have too many challenges going on across too many platforms/communities. There's just a lot going in the AFOL community right now. Struggle for Klegon is doing their first global challenge. Lands of Roawia is having one. There's this one, which is primary to me (and the only one I've done a build for) as well as other assorted stuff I wish I had time for, like more CCC or the Chibi Vehicle challenge.

Besides all that, building Vegrsala took a lot out of me! There's also the busy time of year we're in and I got some news about my company closing their Canadian operations so soon I will have to be looking for a new job, too. Lots of crap going on. Most of my free time goes to Dragon Age: Inquisition on top of it!

Sorry if I'm oversharing here. Haha.

Well, I started this, so I guess I have to take it just as well. Anyway, maybe it's this lack of sunshine all of us here in the northern hemisphere suffer from. And as true Mitgardians we just get drunk and push through. Found a place to buy mead today ...

Mead, eh? I suppose we won't be hearing from you the rest of the night...

But yeah, I feel like I'm in a bit of a building funk myself... excited about building for the challenges, but I'm actually struggling to come with some ideas! The holidays are always such a distracting time, hard to focus on anything when your wife continually asks you to put up decorations and visit with... ugh... family.

But, I plan to jump into those LEGOs tonight and just start piecing bricks together. Maybe that'll get some creative juices flowing... actually, I wonder if I can find mead in Arkansas?

Now you're talking. That stuff is really hard to find in the states... been thinking about trying to make some myself. Apparently it's easier than beer and I know some guys at work that do beer in their backyards. :drunk:

As for me, I've got a CCC/GoH free build from Turkey Day vacation that I need to find motivation to photograph this weekend, one larger, almost half done, CCC build that needs some motivation to finish, a couple small AoM builds laid out but just barely started, and exactly 2 figs complete for the GoH minifig thing. Then I need to hit the Challenge III MOCs... :wall:

I am sure that would help get the creative juices flowing... . On a side note, how did the car-cleaning go? Did you find most of the pieces? Too bad such a nice build was destroyed under such circumstances.

The holidays are part of my delay in building as well. I enjoy being home with my family, but, since I moved out a couple years ago, this means being away from my main LEGO MOCing parts for two whole weeks while I am home. I hope I survive  . At least I have a tub of random parts from garage sales for my younger siblings to build with. We should get some quality time together and I might also get some creative bursts!

I wonder if I can find mead in Arkansas?

I can get it in Texas in the bigger liquor stores (Goody Goody, Specs, etc.) but only one or two brands/varieties... so I've really got no idea what is "good" mead vs "bad" mead. But, Arkansas is a bit er, different so who knows what they stock across the boarder

Probably just Moonshine

Mead is easy enough to make -- definitely easier than beer -- but it needs to age at least a year before it's palatable. (If you try it, I recommend using Wyeast Sweet Mead yeast.)

I have builder's block on my challenge build. It's about 75% done, but I'm stuck. I think I'm going to work on a free build I've been wanting to start instead tonight.

The mead was really good and my wife liked it too. We actually drank it warmed up and no, suprisingly I don't have a headache today ...

When we were in Ireland to get married, my wife and I bought a bottle of mead from Bunratty Castle and drank it in our hostel in Cork. Good times. Good stuff!

Well, it was going to be taken apart soon anyways, but I had not anticipated this method! I think I got most of the parts, I know there's a hundred or two 1x1 dark bley round plates still rolling around in there though... My vehicle is still being put back together!

Sorry to hear about the moving troubles. Since I've got into this hobby, I dread even the thought of having to move!

I'm thankful for that every time I cross the stateline! Though, living in a state where 50 percent or more of the counties are dry has its downsides.

Probably just Moonshine

Yes, it comes out of the taps here!

On my way to expand my mead mini series ...

ME: Next time I'm in the US I should consider seeing the South although it's quite a ways from Seattle where I once lived

Welcome to the best guild within the GoH universe Sam, glad you finally made it!

Two questions though, did you paint the helmet? And did you take it from a killed Varlyrian sell sword? (good job on that it'd be kinda cool to see how you performed the job that got you promoted to captain  )

Stian Vitr extends a warm welcome to the best Guild to Samuel Marron!

On a side note, I finally have most of my LEGO collection moved into my house and again have a building area :sweet: . More builds to follow soon...

Yes... I love this helmet, but they don't do it in silver.

And did you take it from a killed Varlyrian sell sword? (good job on that it'd be kinda cool to see how you performed the job that got you promoted to captain  )

That is exactly what happened!

How did you know? Samuel never brags about this.

And thanks for saving me some work !

A pleasure.

Nice to see you decided to join! While they're lying to you about which guild is best, Mitgardia is at least in the top 5. Looking forward to seeing your builds.
