Thanks so much guys for the warm welcome back! :classic: Btw, i've been racking my brains trying to remember if i ever posted my Sultan's Gate build here... i have the niggling feeling i just posted it on Flickr and then forgot about posting in the guilds, whoops. So question: would you guys consider it too late to post here now as a free-build? It's over a year ago since i built it... :look::blush:

As Mike said, it's never too late! :classic:

Welcome back! Of course its not too late, though I think you have established the new record for a late competition entry. It is one of my favourite Kaliphlin builds of all time and would make one impressive free build - even if it is an old MOC, I am sure the new arrivals to the guilds would love to see it! Anyway, here is the link to the topic:

Now to get onto posting the Mitgardia moc... :classic:

Simon has had to pull out of the Kaliphlin team, and has been replaced by Gabe.

While I would've loved to see Simon build for Kaliphlin again, I'm very much looking forward to seeing Gabe's build (and the rest of the team's of course!)

I reckon we all would have loved to see another Kaliphlin build from our former leader, but it sounds like he's pretty busy with Brickworld stuff (*so jealous!*). I just hope i don't let the side down, there isn't much time left in the comp! :oh:

Sorry for the double post.

Any thoughts on this palm tree design anyone? 27789387261_b5d6491957.jpg

I am pretty sure it is a new design, at least I have never come across it anywhere else before.

The leaf design looks more like either a cedar or pine tree.

Yeah, I'm not sure it quite hits the palm on the head, but I think it has potential. And I really like the dashes of olive you've got going there.

Yes, it does a bit, would using some of the new olive flower stems instead of the green ones make it look more like a palm tree do you think?

Thanks, I will keep work working on it and will try some different colours instead of the green.

Nice builds LittleJohn and Brickcurve! The palm tree design looks interesting, I don't think I've seen that before either. Possibly its limiting factor might be scale... It looks a bit too small to be effective at minifig scale, especially when other designs work so well. But it looks good on that little island! :)

I don't know wther it would fit as a palm but it's a Nice tree anyway!

Thanks. It looks more realistic from a different angle. I don't really have the time to take extra shots of it though- I will probably use the technique in a MOC sometime in the future.

I think it could fit great as a Kaliphlin lore. The floating islands seem like a Klaiphlin/desert type dream. Plus it looks great!

I think it would be cool as a separate dimension!
