AussieJimbo Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) I've built various additional goods wagons to supplement the standard ones from the old green and later red cargo train sets. Here they are, starting with my Big J Oranges fruit van. I found the image for the stickers on a website for fruit box label collectors. Standardised version of the Toy Story wagon. And a shot of the full rake in a just big enough balloon loop on my "last chance before the trains go into storage" layout. Click pics for larger shots. :classic: Edited November 30, 2013 by AussieJimbo Quote
galacticslave Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I like the look of the engine. Are there any more pictures of it? Quote
AussieJimbo Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Cheers, that's my yellow version of the Maersk SD-40 loco. More pics of it here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=53745 :classic: Edited November 30, 2013 by AussieJimbo Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 It is great to see lots of different takes on the same box wagon. I have quite a few, but they only three (Four with the green one from the official set.) different types and all look rather similar. I am just as keen however on seeing a longish train of different color/length/shape box cars as I am at seeing one pull a whole load of the same. Different ones someone seem more old fashioned and branch line to me which is god for a smallish LEGO Trains layout. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Wow those wagons are amazing! I like your huge collection! Quote
JopieK Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 nice job indeed! this shows that a train with relatively simple box cars can be very attractive indeed! Quote

I agree, lots of identical wagons can look cool too but as you point out, on a old fashioned branch line you'll get a mixed up consist, which I think is more interesting. You can always have fun sorting them out in your switching yard. Wow those wagons are amazing! Thanks, JopieK. I'm open to suggestions for what the various wagons could be carrying. I was thinking perhaps honey in the yellow and brown stripped one and maybe milk for the light blue and white. :classic: Edited December 1, 2013 by AussieJimbo Quote
JopieK Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I have a chiquita and a coca cola wagon. For the white and blue, milk would be reasonable of course :) Quote
AussieJimbo Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 I have a chiquita wagon. That's bananas. ;-) :classic: Quote

zephyr1934 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Nice to see a long train with various freight cars. Even small mods like this can go a long way. Quote
