Blakstone Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This is fourteenth week of Middle-Earth Madness. Osgiliath is victorious for a third week, but can it continue it's reign? If you had to pick only one Dream set, which would it be? Ruins of Osgiliath OR Mûmakil Stampede Just like last week, these are dream sets so there is no hard or fast rule on what has to be included in either. Imagine you had a chance to greenlight just one LEGO Lord of the Rings set based on a simple description. Which one would you want? Summary from previous weeks: Week 13 - Ruins of Osgiliath beats Bridge of Khazad-Dum 12 to 8 Week 12 - Ruins of Osgiliath defeats Edoras 19 to 12 Week 11 - Ruins of Osgiliath defeats Minas Morgul 25 to 7 Week 10 - Minas Morgul flattens Fangorn Forest 29 to 1 Week 9 - Minas Morgul smashes the Gray Havens 30 to 5 Week 8 - Minas Morgul routes the Modor Battle Pack 25 to 16 Week 7 - Modor Battle Pack defeats Amon Hen 27 to 7 Week 6 - Modor Battle Pack defeats Lothlórien 24 to 14 Week 5 - Lothlórien defeats Prancing Pony 23 to 13 Week 4 - Lothlórien crashes Mount Doom 35 to 5 Week 3 - Mount Doom defeats the Rohan Battle Pack 14 to 11 Week 2 - Rohan Battle Pack defeats the Watcher in the Water 14 to 7 Week 1 - Rohan Battle Pack defeats The Green Dragon 23 to 4. Have a Dream Set to nominate? Do so in this thread. I still have a few sets to go. [Moderators, can you convert this thread into a poll please?] Quote
deskp Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Osgiliath! Mumakil isn't gonna offer you any gondorians, proapbly not the witch king.. just more Rohan on the good side I'd imagine. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Agree with deskp, you will get Rohan soldiers as the good guy faction rather than Gondor soldiers. My vote would also be Osgiliath. Quote
Hammerhand Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Actually.... in the Mumakil set, it could be the Gondor Ranger attack, and thus include Gondor rangers, and maybe Gondor soldiers, even though they weren't explicitly in that scene. That way we'd get, Mumakil, Haradrim and Gondor, all in the same set. That's my vote. Quote
LegoPanda Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 mumakil sounds a bit more interesting than osgiliath Quote
SirBlake Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'm going to pick mumakil this week, but it's going to be trumped in the first match up that includes Mina's tirith wall section and Gondor soldiers. Quote
Mr. Cube Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 LEGO sets are not based on the movie scenes accurately, so there could be some gondorians...I vote for Mumakil. Quote
qiadris Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 As much as I like Osgiliath, Mûmakil would be AWESOME for Kaliphlin. Plus what is this nonsense of getting Rohan? Ofc we get Gondor rangers +1 Mûmakil Quote
deskp Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Plus what is this nonsense of getting Rohan? Ofc we get Gondor rangers Gondorin ranges has nothing to do with the stampede. its rohan vs mumakil.. Osgiliath could get you, Faramir, gondorian rangers, gondorian soldiers, armored orcs and Gothmog Quote
Bugbot2008 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone, new member here, just joined :) I’ve been following this series with great interest from the outside and wanted to contribute! I think I would vote for Osgiliath as this line up currently stands because of the opportunity for more important unique characters (Faramir etc) as has been said by many others so far... However, a thought has occurred to me after thinking about the LEGO Movie line set 70813 that a Mûmakil could be a part of a broader “Mordor Cavalry” set, which could have a brick built Mûmakil but also include all the contents of the Witch-king vs Eowyn set we all want. That way we can get a molded fell beast in a set with enough ‘bricks’ alongside to justify the large molded creature and minifigure count etc. I'll keep my vote for Osgiliath at the moment, sorry if I distracted too much... (As a side note this is my LDD MOC of a Mûmakil design: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/367145 ) Happy to be part of this community! Edited October 28, 2014 by Bugbot2008 Quote
