I would love do see a bank with armored security truck and a skyscraper

I totally agree with you, chriz!

A bank with armored security truck is absolutely needed and a skyscraper would be great, too.

Btw: Welcome to EB, chriz! :classic:

Central Park Zoo:

Includes several structures

not on one base plate but multipule little ones. (like city corner)

Gate/Entrance, food area/picnic, 3 animal exhibits: Elephant, Lion and Crocodile

The exhibits could be made like the Pig Pen was, with gate/fence and inside, water plants and printed food dish

Figures are Ticket seller, Zoo keeper, Food Seller and 1-2 Civilians (one of them female or little kid)

A zoo would surely be an awesome set, Macoco!

And I even do not understand why TLG brought back Fire and Airport this year plus very supposably the Trains theme although there could be done such many awesome civilian sets which partly would be appealing to JFOLs, too, e. g. esp. a zoo.

The big plus of a zoo from TLG's point of view is even that there are many exotic animal molds already produced (e. g. elephant), partly even in today's sets (e. g. crocodile) and partly in future sets (e. g. camel). Plus one new mold for a tiger or lion would surely not be that a problem.

And zoo could even be a whole new theme (like Farm) in order to get many different sets in all price classes, in order to get many different exotic animals, in order to get some zoo service vehicles and some nice civilian minifigs plus a new torso for a zoo worker.

To expand on the zoo theme, I could see the following smaller sets as expansions:

1. Tropical Aviary (large birdcage with parrots in two colors and one or two brick-built birds); includes popcorn stand with seller

2. Polar Lake with two polar bears, some fish and observation deck; includes ice-cream stand with seller

3. African Grassland with zebra (repainted horse), buffalo (black cow with larger horns), and wild dogs (repainted dogs); includes small jeep with a tour guide in safari gear

4. Monkey Kingdom with brick-built trees, nets, car tires, several monkeys (in different colors), lots of bananas and other assorted fruits

These are awesome ideas which surely would make perfect additions for a big zoo set, Sammael!

Zabra and bison would be very cool.

Btw: Please make sure that you checked this topic about which three Lego City sets you'd like the most, too!

In light of Jamie Berard's recent interview in Captain Zuloo's Behind The Helm, Ep. 12, I really do believe that discussing potential new exclusive sets and possible additions to the Modular Sets line would be much more rewarding, seeing as those are precisely the products which are aimed at AFOLs and as such are most influenced by our wishes and desires. So I believe it would be very useful if you guys added your suggestions as to what Modular Sets you would like to see released in the future.

Thanks! :classic:

Yes everything you said is true and a zoo is quite simple to do, using exsisiting animals and parts.

Also true is that they seem to think Airport and Fire are the only things kids like or rescue type themes.

I think they would like a zoo and it would be highly popular! Also it would make a cool sub theme like you mentioned about farm with multiple expansion sets!

Oh great ideas!!! :sweet:

All your animals already exists in LEGO form and would just need some color alterations. The zebra idea I especially like as a repainted horse! Clever

The African grassland idea is really cool and I like the safari jeep idea.

I had forgot LEGO had made a crocodile part when I gave the exhibit ideas, but then remembered it after thinking about the outback theme.

Some other animals that could be done but do not exists currently are a Hippopotamus, Giraffe, Gazelle, Lion, Tiger, and Rhinoceros.

The single mold animals LEGO has made are really nice and not blocky as you would think such as the Cow, Pig and Taun Taun (SW)

I would buy a dozen!

Also add some gold coins to the ATM, LEGO doesn't often give us money in City sets. Therefore we need an easy source

A little lever where money comes out would be cool too, something like the stove in the City Corner Pizza restaurant perhaps?

It's not a slot machine!

Though the City range could do with a nice range of impulse sets - 'civvies' are quite hard to come by nowadays

I would say more civilian strctures like the 7641 or 8403 sets (something like my own City MOCs ) and of course, a taxi set! :cry_happy:

Ice Cream Truck!

More civilian houses!

What about a modular skyscraper. The basic set could be $70.00 and have a ground floor, 1 middle floor and a top floor. Then for $19.99 you could buy a floor to add, so you can make it small or as tall as you want. :classic: Add-on floors would not have a interior, but office furniture add-on packs could be $10.00

I too thought a zoo is a no brainer in the future, I thought this the other day after I saw the ostrich in one of the new sets, they could even have a repile area, snakes, scorpions, spiders, crocs, frogs, plenty for an aquatic area, sharks, dolphins, octopus, ray, swordfish, even the land side of things would be covered with the horse, elephant, ostrich, monkeys, polar bears, no brainer, all they need is a giraff and a hippo

I think a Circus theme would sell GREAT. Different sets with circus performers like a strongman, acrobat, ringmaster, trapeze artist, clown, band etc.

Plus animals like elephants, lions, horses etc

And of course things like a big top and maybe even a circus train.

The downside is that many parts of the world are banning circus animals (and many animal welfare groups are fighting circuses with animals) so releasing a circus theme may not be the best idea...

You know we have been bouncing ideas about in this forum for a while now and maybe an idea would be a book - yes a book, an ideas book but attached to it is a parts set, so if it a hair salon or hardware store you have the basic elements to build something with just a little of ones own input !

Maybe we should all pool our best MOC's and MOD's in the city forum and do our own book of ideas, well it's just a thought.

I'm a conformist! everyone ! :sweet:

What about famous buildings from different countries. Like from New York,Rome,Spain,Etc. . Many afols would buy it. Maybe a Park with a band in it. The band could be the kind that sounds like um-pa-pa-pa um-pa-pa-pa [sound brick].

Maybe it's time again for a bigger Mac !

We probably won't get CITY restaurants for a while (thanks 7641!)

But I'd like to see a 50s American-style diner. I'd rather see it Exclusive style instead of CITY style, with the level of detail like on Town Plan and the Winter Toy Shop, which is below Exclusive modular level...

A grounded american railroad coach as a diner? (can't find any pictures of any atm

I would like to get a new Safari set, it was really a lot of fun to play with this:

6672-large.jpg

It could include some of the new animals, like ostrich or camel. Would love it.

A must is a nice landrower, but also a plane or a little scene or tree would be nice.

2nd, we need a new little civilian boat, like a sailing yacht or something. Perhaps as part of a small harbour.

Anything that seems relaxing, civilian, holiday and summer - I am in.

Actually, i'm in for a barber shop. Even minifigs need to do

Oh, and what about a genuine record shop? Or an Apple store??...

For sure one of those will appear in my street soon! :)

yeay! one of my favorite topics lives on! :classic:

Apple Store set huh? Siegfried would love that

I think a safari set would be great, possibly could work with a zoo theme where they give live tours :oh:
