Disco86 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 After a night full of booze Markus Montari and Paul Brickstorm are waiting in the empire recruitment office. Still not really sober they wait to be next. Hey Markus, do you know what we are doin here ? Last night, when we have been drunk, we decided to join the army. I think that was a good idea, like all ideas you have after midnight. It is so boring here on Nar Shaddaa. And honestly earning some credits is always a good thing. Yoyo fellas, some credits are always good... windmills ? here ? bugs ! Well, cant be that wrong to join them... Have you read it ? drinking water ! Full of plague ! Full of Plague... need to call them... but no number... NO NUMBER !!! After some serious time waiting they finally reached the recruitment officer. Name ? Brickstorm, Paul Brickstorm Homeplanet ? Nar Shaddaa Special interest or abilities ? None You are hired, move on ! In a room nearby they got their armor and a blaster with some warm words of welcome. You are not in Kansas anymore, this is the Empire ! Yes, Sir ! I am not a sir, I am your Staff Sergant ! Yes, Staff Sergant !!! Now take a gun, and get outta here ! Quote
Nom Carver Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Thats it? the imperial army used to have at least four weeks of training before giving its troops a real gun, no wonder why our kill/death ratio is so low, I hope you guys had some shooting experience before this . Talking seriously, I love the fact that you and Marcus are actively featuring eachother in your builds and that you put quite an effort on them, I like those interiors in both of your builds. Quote
TWP Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Good MOC! Funny story too! It's really nice you and Markus combine the story! But... Did Markus do a quick uniform switch there? Quote
VK-318 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Yes, the cooperative story is a great idea! I wish you luck! Quote
emilstorm Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Nice little story :) and judging on the stormtroopers' fighting skills in episode 4-6 this is probably how it's done :) Quote
Lobot Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Great design, story and execution. Welcome to the Empire! Quote
Disco86 Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for your warm welcome in the EB Star Wars section ! Dont forget that this is just the beginning of a story, our heroes will have to practice with weapons soon. They are not going directly to battlefield, like some of you think Quote
Csacsa234 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 "You're not in Kansas anymore" Really funny story and good and I like your build as much as the photography and lighting, it really gives the feeling of some training facility. Quote
Disco86 Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for your comments ! "You're not in Kansas anymore" Just had to do that "Avatar" quote, even if Kansas is not really a part of Star Wars Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Nice! So many details all around those walls, I really like the pipes. It'd be nice to see the whole MOC in one image ... Quote
BEAVeR Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Just had to do that "Avatar" quote, even if Kansas is not really a part of Star Wars I hope you quoted a quote, because in Avatar, they're referencing to the Wizard of Oz classic. Well, that was a long time ago. And Oz probably is in a galaxy far far away... But closer to home, we have this terrific build of yours. It's amazing how well it complement Markus' build, and I'm quite curious how you coordinate this. Because this idea of cooperative building is really awesome, especially if I see what you guys can achieve with it, spitting out MOCs at an insane rate and with an insane quality. I'm in awe. Concerning this build, I have to say I'm a big fan of the vents, the grills and that door (although that doorstep does seem rather dangerous for tiny minifig legs). And those pipes that are just visible are really teasing. And then you have these little details like the holograms on the desk. Imperial and Impressive! If I see it correctly, I notice you built two almost mirrored halves. This gives some nice continuitiy, but on the other hand, it seems like a bit of a waste of time and opportunity. You could have differentiated more between the rooms to emphasize their functions. There could be some comfy waiting chairs in the waiting room for instance, and some kind of storage for trooper uniform in the drilling chamber. you could make the waiting room look very comfy and inviting, while making the training room way more Spartan style... But I can only comment, and I don't think I'll ever see a way to really make those ideas more concrete. I'll leave the building to the most talented builders here, and can only offer my help with some comments that hopefully make some sense. Because after seeing such an amount of great MOCs, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever be happy again with what I come up with. Congratulations with that Quote
Disco86 Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Thanks fellows, a lot of great feedback you are giving here. I am very pleased :) Nice! So many details all around those walls, I really like the pipes. It'd be nice to see the whole MOC in one image ... Sorry, but you will never see a whole moc-image here. I have decied to go with this intra-moc-style when building for SoNE. Mostly it is just built for one angle and won't look so good from far away. You really got some good points here ! Quote
