That'd have to be me. You've just lost one point in the Jipay user ranking system :-D -
MOC Forum Regulator, Restructurement of EB
Jipay replied to Jipay's topic in Forum Information and Help
There is a reason why pirates are not included. This reason is not discrimination. The pirate forum is part of of the forum, but still has its own status, being fully taken care of by Mitser Phes, having its own mods, sub forums and everything. This exists because there is no other big place on the net to discuss lego piracy. -
Lego2000 has been granted the title of "Regulator" for the MOC forum by the Administration Council. His complete mission will be described in a later post by Hobbes (Giga Admin), but it basically consists of managing the forum, organizing it, and making sure that everything goes to the right place. In order to do so, he will have the standard Regulator powers (already in use in the pirate forum). As he is still fairly new to the forum management world, he will be helped in his task by the Giga Admin team.

European or American, who is the better builder?
Jipay replied to morris's topic in General LEGO Discussion
it does ! sometimes when i'm building, I see a brick, and it triggers my imagination. My brain goes wild and imagine all the things I could with it, and then I'm puting in an MOC soimethign I wouldn't have think about at the begining ! *sweet* -
There'll be one sooner than you think
-
yeah I'm the guilty person responsible for that
-
TLC should pay more attention to the design of their sets instead of paying com rep that will tell people how to write lego... BTW I'm adding the choice mister Tiber

European or American, who is the better builder?

Yeah seems like it's getting off hand, my comment obviously triggered some defense mechanism while it was only intended as an inoffensive joke about people not moving as much as they used to. I don't see the connection with the taxes either. So back on the topic, I have to agree and disagree with the restictive parts forcing to be creative. There are some things that wouldn't just render as nice with basic bricks. On the other hand, we clearly have too many different bricks right now. It's hard to think about them all when you imagine how to build something *sad* -

And on the other hand, it seems that loosing the possibility of pionniring around created problems in the US that don't appear as much in Europe :-P Back on judging, it should never be allowed in sports. Just look at what happens in every ice skating contest. -
Has anyone ever seen this before ???
Jipay replied to Brick Miner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
As stated, displays existed before. And bricklink can't keep track of all the displays as some of them are unique for each country. Some other displays are specificaly done for one single shop. So that leaves a lot options ! *sweet* -

I think he means people who are building MOCs and then join the virtual club of elistist builders who are looking down at everything which isn't entirely snot built. In my opinion the debate should be closed though. I'm obviously the best builder :-D -
Please never say again we had a child together ! That's a fantasy I'm not willing to share ! X-D And yes imperialscout, Shaggie is a really important person. He's member number 2 afterall lol. Or was since we used another type of forum in the early days, but we switched to invision next, and couldn't save the database. but I think it was ok as there was only me and him who had to register again :D At that time the forum kept crashing every two days, it was really funny (but I remember that back then we didn't consider this as a funny thing ^^)
-
I'm laughing at the "it needs more details" comment. Really. I barely see how more details could be put into such a small MOC. Really nice, as always, you never fail to impress me ! :-)
-
You forgot Shaggie, who was the first working with me on EB. He's now the founder of polug. I think he deserves a little advertising as it was great working with him on creating the website, I sometimes miss the days when it was only the twoi of us planning everything :) Still I love the current admin team ! They're just the best and make EB what it is. So thank you Yoda, Vad, Sam, Apo, BM, and Phes. Wouldn't just be the same without you

I'm not sure that this should actually be the spirit. I hope you're not planing on creating polls all over the place. Some tried. Unfortunatly they won't be able to testify :-/
-
to prevent young kids from spamming the place * hint**hint*, members can't make polls until they reached a certain rank.
-
of course !

"Save the Band" is finally OVER
Jipay replied to Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's topic in LEGO Action Figures
If I were you, I'd think of a better way to spend my time. Like trying to get a life or something. Nothing interesting in Southampton this afternoon ? -
Well I dunno about your place Norro, but here small toy shops are long gone.
-
Well the problem is that products get on sales cause they didn't match the selling expectations. So it's not a viable solution for the future of a company.
-
May I remind you that TLC's dream marketing team made the studies that prooved all the worst selling lego themes would sell well ? They might likely also put an arbitrary price tag on the sets based on studies. They might also make bigger boxes, half empty with 100% AIR, doubling the space requiered for transportation, dramatically increasing the related costs.
-
you can't blame the taxes, the difference between Canadian prices and US prices prooves it, as stated by gylman. And Christian Treczoks' comment about business masters are mainly right. The guys usually can't do basic maths. They always refer to non logical stuff to explain things in a way that pleases them. I think this guy also got a point, the real thing is not "why is it more epensive", it's more "what can I do to make it less expensive". One of the logical area of improvment would be logistics, obvioulsy. This is where everyone mainly agree : TLC's logistics absolutely sucks. In a world where some company deliver products in less than 48 hours, TLC is at shame.
