That certainly depends. If the wings result in too much overhang, then your entry will be disqualified. A few studs is no problem though. Read the first post once more and you'll find instructions on how to post your entry here in "Watto's Junkyard" Yes

I'm fairly sure noone laughs at those of us that bought the Chrome C3P0 for a load of dollars. We still have no official statement on how many of these have been made. I've just heard in the vicinity of 30000, but that's actually not that many considering how large this planet is
-
Yes, all you need is to stick with the horisontal limitation of 16x16, 32x32 or 48x48 studs as stated and clarified in the rules in the first post. I don't see why you couldn't make a vignette / diorama with two or more levels in it.
-
Wow... That's fast.
-
What are these:
-
Ahem!
-
With more than 30000 being made, then I am sure we'll see this fig at several future events and happenings much like the one in Sweden.
-
Of course, that sounds like a very reasonable idea. I wouldn't put too much stress on "epic" if I was to build something. I might consider building the Robot Chicken scene where Leia and Luke ends up in bed together. "This is sooo wrong!!" But since this is a contest, then it's also a question of what people would vote for or not.
-
Exactly. You misunderstood it Raphy. It's your member join date and not the date for entering the contest.
-
If you want to, then go ahead and ultra scale I'll leave the "twisting" to you Yes, the rule only state that you have to do a Star Wars scene... And I can't see why a spin on a movie scene wouldn't be a scene, if EU and TFU are considered "in" then so is this. Remember there's 3 categories and 3 prizes in each category plus a few special things we're still cooking. So there should be plenty of prizes to win. And no, we weren't inspired by ACPin's rush of dioramas - good as they are. The idea was to allow you guys ro recreate Star Wars scenes and do it your way. Which means no limit on parts, scale or vertical size. The only limitations are as stated in the rules. No clone parts. 3 categorial sizes to enter in. Must be Star Wars themed. and that's about it. So "Free Your Mind" and get down to some serious MOC'ing. I'd love to see a mini-scaled space battle on a 48x48 baseplate or a midi-scale Gungan Sub fleeing from a giant fish mouth. Stuff like that and the usual minifig-scaled dioramas. Only your imagination is the limitation in this contest.
-
What the hell? Not original You guys have been pestering me about building all sorts of things and now I ask you to put it on a baseplate and you still moan?!
-
Yes the entry has to be 16x16, 32x32 or 48x48. Unless you're making a SNOT baseplates in which case a little "overhang" is allowed since the brick to plate ratio is 5:6 and it is therefore a little difficult to hit exactly 16, 32 or 48 studs in width. Perhaps in a future vig contest we might consider a no baseplate size rule, but not this time though.
-
Anything goes - as long as it is Star Wars. Even the ever spoken about "Death of Ashoka" can be entered. And yes all scales are allowed. Build micro, build mini, build midi, build system, build UCS or build out of scale - it's all good.
-
Nope. Entries are to be posted here in "Watto's Junkyard" - have a look around this sub-forum and you'll get the idea. Plus there's info in the first post on what to put in your entry's "subtitle" when posting it.
-
That's good to hear. Remeber that if you need feedback and stuff like that on your entry, then all entries are considered WIP (WorkInProgress) until the deadline where the entry will be "locked".
-
Thanks whung. I've updated the first post with new pic and link to instructions.

Nope. All Star Wars is welcome. Eventhough it says "Epic Scenes", then it's still allowed to do other scenes. For example from Expanded Universe and stuff like that. The trouble might be that it (the entry) is liable to fewer votes, the less 'epic' it is. No worries. Only you can do it exactly like you would And similar scene entries are allowed.
-
Wow. Great work - a shame you did that for another contest
-
Indeed it would. I might consider doing that, if I was to MOD this thing into something bigger.

Please include a link to off-site folder with more pics or higher resolution pictures (optional). Max picture resolution is 800x600. 'Real' entries only - no digital entries. If entry uses 'SNOT', then it's allowed to be a little wider than the category states. Please include one pic with a baseplate for measurement. A "limited" amount of overhang is allowed - no UCS scale Death Star on a 16x16 Vignette though Not a must, but it might be an idea to include a link to a video clip of the scene depicted in one's entry. Contest ends on 30th of June 2010 at 2100 CET. Entries posted after the deadline are disqualified. Entries that doesn't live up to the rules after the deadline are disqualified. All entries will be indexed - this does not mean they are qualified or 'good' enough. All entries will be looked over and requirements to comply with the rules will be posted in the entry's topic. All entries are considered WIP's (work in progress). An entry can be changed as many times as the poster wishes before the deadline. All entries are to be posted as individual topics in 'Watto's Junkyard' with the following in the topic's subtitle: "Epic Scenes followed by category Small or Medium or Large" When the deadline has been reached a vote topic for the qualified entries will be made. More on the vote rules when that time comes. Comments and suggestions on entries are more than welcome. What are the prizes? Well there's at least on EB stormie up for each category's winner. And we'll dig in and see what we can find for 2nd and 3rd place. We've got quite a stash of polybags and stuff like that lined up. Plus the main thing is to be able to say "I won" We promise prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all three categories. Only 1st prize winners will also win the "Star Wars Contest Winner"-tag. Check the EB Stormie here

No worries. It'll stay until it's outpaged and then I'll move it to the MCW as usual. Great work by the way.
