Are they dark metallic and silver?
(131 & 148 according to LEGO's own colur chart)
I really can't spot where the silver differs from previous silver colours.

So I guess the 150 handed out at the Canadian Toy Fair were just a premature release of it
We're getting 3 times as many as when the Chrome Gold C3P0 was released, so I'm not concerned.

To my knowledge the new wave (summer) is due to be released in June.
Noone knows why so early in France - perhaps some kind of test on sale and popoularity by TLG?
I had the same feeling about the Republic Attacj Shuttle, but that one turned out pretty well, when I finally bought and build it. So I'll pass on judging this as quickly.

The difference would be that the 2 depicted models are just 2 out of 8 models in total that can be build using the parts in the book/set.

As mentioned earlier this book will be available through Amazon.
Wether or not it'll be in regular stores or LEGO stores I have no idea.
Not alternate - there's 8 different models to build from the parts included in the book.
Just like previous releases (Castle & Pirate)
Why wouldn't it be real?
We've known for a long time that a Brickmaster book would be released through Amazon.
