Thanks for sharing CopMike. I'll definately try the 1x2 brick and 1x1 round brick technique. Do you have any idea how they made the top of the oil tanks? I need to discover/invent/whatever a way to build a top floor on a cylindrical tower. I'm not sure wether it's going to be my yellow version or a smaller one using the dimesions of your well.

This is already going fast. So far I've added Teddy's tutorial on Angled Walls, VBBN's tutorial on SNOT roads and a link for the Unofficial Advanced Building Techniques Manual. It's great to share and learn this way

Thanks Teddy. You're the man. I'll have to find me a load of bricks and start learning to use this SNIR (Studs Not In A Row) technique. Thanks for this very good tutorial. I'll add it to the Adv. Building Tech topic

I'll start off by asking a question and then share some pics of what I've tried out so far. Q: When building a round wall (as the yellow one in the pic below) is there a fixed amount needed for me to be able to build on top of it. At first I used 15 1x3 bricks and 15 1x1 round bricks. This made it very difficult to built on top of. Now I've expanded it to 16 bricks of each and it's nearly 21 studs wide. Nearly . Has anyone got any experience in building round towers or has anyone seen any, that I can look at to get ideas and be inspired? Now the pics of my birth in the advanced techniques world

Wow nice tutorial. Mind if I add this to my recent topic on Advanced Building Techniques?

So would a lot of people. Now people this is NOT the thread to indirectly ask to be contacted. Please go to the BST forum or eBay or Bricklink or whatever, if you want one of these. If they're too expensive, then download the instructions and build it for free. Within long someone will definately have copied the sticker sheet and made a printable version. Kazaam! Problem solved without a box though, but a whole lot cheaper Rest assured that green burps will be seen in other sets. I find it very doubtful that TLG would make a green one only for this set.

I like the texture added to the walls. It gives it all a more realistic look.

Orc Castle. Picture it in your mind. A ruined human castle now occupied by orcs. The defiled sanctuary now houses the Evil Orc Hag and her minions roam freely in the night. How could that possibly go wrong? Elves NO! Orcs YES!

Recently I was introduced to the fantastic "Unofficial Advanced Building Techniques Manual" And it got me started. (This topic it was)Something in the way I think and build LEGO has slightly changed. I've tried to use some of the techniques and I'm sure I've seen more than a few of them used by other members. Are you lost at what I'm speaking about? Then click >here< My thought was that we could share ideas and techniques in this topic. That way we'll have it all in one spot Index of useful topics on construction and building techniques: ~VBBN~'s tutorial on SNOT roads click >here< The Unofficial Advanced Building Techniques Manual click >here< Tedddy's tutorial on Angled Walls click >here< James Mathis Train Snot Tutorial click >here< LEGO Builder's Guide Grids click >here< Jamie Berard's Lesson on Stressing the Brick click >here< Holger Matthes' World Of Bricks Site click >here< Foot to brick conversion click >here< Carbohydrate's topic on SNOT studies click >here< Athos' topic on roof building techniques >here< Feel free to post more links to topics, manuals and stuff like that and I'll add them here

Yes that might be an idea. I just thought that it might be useful to be able to fight inwards if the Gate was rammed. Thanks for the idea and I'll give it some serious consideration

Ideas for 10193 Medieval Market Village add-ons
KimT replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Why would we want a hayfork? when we've already got this: (And yes I know it's a pitchfork) -
I bought me 2 of these: For the yellow bricks and black roof. The rest went into my Bricklink store. (They were half price and sadly the last ones in the store)

I am fairly sure the above picture is the same thing. So now we'll have a hairpiece with a hole in it Because elves are...well....boring compared to orcs, dwarves and multimoraled humans. Who'd want an unbribeable all the way good faction?
-
My guess is that you're talking about these 3 torsos: Why do you think there's been a change? Are we even sure the old one is gone for good? Maybe they're just giving us different torsos like they've done in several Castle themes before this one. We've seen colorchange on arms, torsos and legs before. Now they're skilled enough to give us differently printed torsos instead. Personally I like all 3 of them. The Dwarves use Viking torsos, noone bugs about that But getting 3 different torsos for the Crownies does

Cool. And now I'll shove this into the topic where it belongs

I've just finished renewing the wall and corner designs, plus I've done the first version of a stable: The Stables The Stable holds up to 4 horses and has a small roofed building on top for the guards to relax, when not patrolling. The Corner ver2 A black roof has ben added (still need a few pieces), the floor has been light-greyed and some minor improvements in design and structure has been done. The Wall ver2 The wall is now "solid", the floor has been light-greyed and a few constructional errors have been corrected. Comments and ideas are more than welcome.
-
Yeah I know. When I started this new module build, I initially had the plates go all the way across the top of the wall. Now they are only 4 studs wide again and replacing them with light grey plates has been considered. Reading what you written has made my mind up. Light grey it is

Awesome army gladiator I hope to have one that size someday.

All castle sets are worth the money Personally I do not buy more than one set if it has skellies. I do not like the skeleton faction. As for the rest, when I see them and if they are on sale. Then they go into the shopping bag to join the evergrowing army of mine.
-
YES!!!!11 No pesky elves mean we might be getting the mermen/mermaids. And by the looks of that Orcish Queen/Witchdoctor, I hope the Orc/troll side will grow immensly. Also we need more dwarves ' I'll add the Orcish Queen picture to the first post. Does anyone have a great cleaned picture of the human princess?

Is it me or is the same house building technique used as the one in 3739 Blacksmith Shop? If so, then my guess is that we will be seeing a lot of MOCs using that technique within long. Just like the modular rise that came with the great Green Grocer, Market Street and something something

Do not be sorry. I will add a comment in the first post on the clickability of the pics

Thanks again for giving us another review. It is always good to have a 2nd opinion on a set I find this set below average or maybe even poor. I dislike EU/FU or whatever it is called The Rogue Shadow has an acceptable design, but this is poor in my opinion. I bought this one on sale and if I had not been a collector, I would never buy it. Why? Simply because it is big, bulky and crappy Why would a Tie crawl? Give us a "real" tank instead of this Hopefully someone disagrees with my opinion on this set....maybe not and that could be why it is almost always on serious sale here.

Great review This is one of my all time favourite Star Wars sets. I have not fully decided wether I like this new version or the old one the best. I guess I will have to wait until I get this baby myself to decide. Thanks for sharing your pics and comments on this set. I have indexed it. No indexlogo for you, since you have added the max amount of pics allowed in one post

I've added links to Voodoo Hand's LDD Micro Scale Topic and Rayman's RGS sticker topic. Isn't it nice having all the great stuff linked in one topic?
