Showdown at Maryx Minor (updated version)
KimT replied to RepublicForces's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Yes I could. What title are you aiming at having instead? -
Don't be sorry, you're not. Not everyone is a native speaker of English. It even puzzles some of TLG's own employees why the sabres have bubbles. Apparently it's not difficult to avoid them. Odd indeed

I'd really like to comment on contest entries, the topic on Stormtrooper torsos and stuff like that. But today everything's "dead"... flickr - unavailable yahoo - same hotmail - same brickshelf - same and so goes for a whole bunch of sites - perhaps my internetprovider is suffering an attack on their servers?
-
Why thank you Yeah they've won, but there's still the match against Japan. On the paper not a big problem - but knowing our usual luck with this game, they'll probably make it too damn exicting. Thank the maker I am not a soccer fan...

Seconded. I still play Civ3 now and then. Sadly Civ4 never caught me and I rediscovered Alpha Centauri (Alien X-Fire) instead. They've even made an upgrade so that it worked on my WinXP Hopefully we'll see a new version of that game too eventually. I can't wait for Civ5 - it looks awesome from the screenshots we've seen so far.

Oh dear! Yeah that should be doable. He'd have to switch to light-bluish-gray then instead of sticking with old light-gray. Yup, I'm sure we'll see plenty of MOD's for the shuttle. Especially from the geeks in the Technic Forum.

Nope sorry - it doesn't have that Chinese touch or look. It feels just like it should. Plus LEGO isn't moving factories to China - it opened one factory there to support production. It also has factories in: Mexico, Denmark, Czech Republic and Hungary - at least I recall them having factories there. So your insinuation that TLG is outsourcing everything to China and the quality getting inferior is far fetched at best. TLG has send supervisors to their factories to ensure that everything is produced by the company guidelines and whatever messup they've previously had with the Chinese production line should be fixed now. As for the workers being exploited, I doubt TLG would allow anything like that. Yes they've opened a factory in China because workers are cheaper there, but it's not like The Temple of Doom.

So "fantastically" much better than your previous design.
-
Your entry has to be on a base of either 16x16, 32x32 or 48x48 studs. How you build/design that base is up to you.
-
Good one Ar Sparfel

You did notice that this is from 2005 before you posted that, didn't you? It's quite impossible to change now and with the bricks available back then, this is a very good solution in my opinion. A lot has happened in those 5 years...
-
No, the 48x48 studs is just the measurement. A lot of members haven't used regular baseplates in their entries - so of course you can build a base from either baseplates, plates or bricks even.
-
Erhm... are you guys aware that we host our own gallery here on Eurobricks? Pics of the shuttle - high res are there as well. No need to look all over the net. 2010 Star Wars Picture & Rumor Gallery Hopefully they'll upload the instructions to LEGO's cache soon and we'll learn what pieces they've used.

Review of Custom Chinese Armors & Weapons
KimT replied to KimT's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I feel the same about trans colours. Except that the trans-jade (or other trans) weapons might prove useful for wizards or summoned creatures from other planes. But I certainly prefer the realistic colours. The chromed parts are of very high quality and a chrome armor and weapons looks awesome. Perhaps I should do a few combo pics with chrome and non-chrome parts together? I can do that along with the poseable picture I promised yesterday. I'll see if I can find some time to do it today. I have to go purchase a new tent and run some errands for the wife. -
Showdown at Maryx Minor (updated version)
KimT replied to RepublicForces's topic in Watto's Junkyard
So are you going to update this or not? -
So where's that medium entry?
-
What makes you think people didn't see it? They were just waiting for you to ask for positive feedback on it Nah seriously, this is a nice entry and I wish you the best of luck with it.
-
Nice work You could still add a lot more to the base itself. Good luck.
-
This is still one of my favorites, despite all the awesome small category entries. Best of luck. Any medium or large category entries coming from you as well Darth Lion?
-
(stunned and numb with awe) ... ..... Wow, absolutely amazing work. Remember to update the first post with new pics and info since the first post is considered the "entry". Best of luck - not that you need it
-
Nice entry Admiral Ron. Personally I'd whoop this with a load of tiles to make it smooth and shiny, but that's just what I prefer. Nice Thrawn fig Good luck.

Artistic freedom Nope, clone brands is stuff from companies like cobi, blocko, megablocks and so on. Arealight, Fine Clonier, Brickarms, Little Arms, BrickTW and so on are considered customized parts. Indeed. Perhaps the Emperor had a premature load of new blasters handed out short before the execution of his plan (order66). Best of luck and make sure you enjoy Brickworld.
