    To me at least, the forced perspective type thing works best when the forced part is a bit out of focus since the general shape is more important than the detail in that situation. You're right, this way can be interesting too, I would just be interested in seeing how it looked.

    Did you try making the photo the "opposite" as in the foreground in focus and the tomb out of focus? I think that could look really cool. Good job on your first MOC!

    The staff actually does mind. Bumping to keep something on the first page is not something we should be actively doing or encouraging. This is a new topic and the updates are welcome, but doing it merely to keep something on the first page is not allowed.

    Flickr can be tricky. Here is a tutorial on how to get flickr images into a post. I DID fix the photos in the entry topic.

    Okay. I do have an objection to where this thread is going. This thread is about what you found, through legal means, at a pick-a-brick wall. It is not about how to make sure you get the best bang for your buck by using sneaky tactics to fool employees into not following their store rules. Whatever the store rule is, it is, and don't discuss deceptive ways to get around that. This is also an official mod decision that no more will be posted relating to tricking or fooling store employees of any sort.

    The legs might not be a new mold, but the body is. If the film didn't exist, I wouldn't care, but I just don't find it a good representation. If I am paying 130, I would prefer more pieces, less big molding, especially if the molding doesn't look like the subject.

    I don't think there is a big consipiracy here. Big molded pieces drive up the cost. I had the exact same feeling about Jaba's Palace. 717 pieces, big molded Jabba, $120, This set 866 pieces, big molded Smaug $130. Seems to be pretty much in line. No conspiracy on when the line will end or anything.

    But at least the ninjago dragons could be customized more. My issue is how little Smaug's body looks like Smaug. In the film he was more slender and snake like. Here is mostly looks like the castle dragon with a little facelift.
