Parts you have an unaccountable fondness for?
Siegfried replied to Svelte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I love... ...too! The shape is just beautiful. What else? Yeah, it's just a connector, but I love the texture! I just love the shape, and I'm surprised it didn't get used outiside of RoboRiders. Such an under appreciated part, perfect for snub nosed ships! -
You aren't a lawyer by any chance? I went to a bit of effort so you could at least play along, it's not like I really expected you to pay up. Note to self; DarthSion is on my Party Pooper list. I agree for the most part. I'm a not a fan of Bale (and that's being nice) and while I think Ledger performed well, the Joker was wrong. Why? Because he wasn't funny, he was just sick. (I'm playing Arkham Asylum at the moment and the Joker is perfect there. ) Also, the movie was filled with to much rubbish, especially that mobile phone trick. What bothered me the most was that music, Musica ricercata. Strewth that was annoying.

Good point. *I look for the legs. Are they up the scaffold?*

Red Moon Confirmation & Discussion thread
Siegfried replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hinck is using Technic, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. -
*Is that ring and key that Jack had in that mess?*

Oh my, that reminds me of my Atlantis adventure.
-
Luckily no.

I understand the concept, I just don't agree with it. But I still like the movies; even 3. (I've never seen 4 and I probably won't as I don't like Bale or the director.)

Strewth! I can't believe this topic is still active... It's simple. Age brings maturity, and that is a fact. Some people mature fast... others don't. Some people never grow up, they just grow old. (Maturity also isn't a yes or no thing. Some people are mature about most things, but for example when sex is mentioned they act like a 10 year old. But I digress...) Thus the younger the member the more likely that they are immature. It's that simple. So no, SirNadroj is not and never was exceptionally immature on EB, and thus he never got in trouble. Incidentally, you're looking into what I have said too much. That quote... ...is not saying that lying is immature. It's just saying that lying when you join is a bad way to start. I apologise for the ambiguity. That's their choice. If you join a site that has for years been a site intended for an adult audience and you clearly say in public that you're a kid then what else should you expect? Bingo!

tomacwhite has done a review of what is hopefully the set that brings pneumatics back to LEGO Technic! Full review here in the Technic, Mindstorms & Model Team forum.

Have you seen Batman and Robin? Eyes Wide Shut? Battlefield Earth? There's a list here if you need help!

I'm experienced at that kind of thing, but a broken arm is a quite serious matter. Maybe we should get some professional help? In any case, I'll re-set (think of St Jamie!) and splint it if we can find something suitable. *I look around for some wood or metal to for a splint. Assuming the arm is broken, is the bone protruding? * I like your spriit! I can't resist things like that either. I live for excitement!

You're safe now and your hairs not too mussed up either. Careful where you put your hands though...

I'm here! Sorry, a girl has to look her best and one can't look as good as I do without regular maintenance. In any case... *I carefully climb up the scaffold...* Are you planning on becoming pregnant soon? Do you have a Kegel exerciser?

What were you expecting, a gauntlet to the face? Ignoring the fact that time travel theories are for the most part just unproven ideas, that's the problem with Terminator. It isn't consistent with any idea of time travel so the story, in short, is rubbish. I try to just watch them with my brain off. (Personally I think if time travel is possible making changes must be impossible. Why? Because we're all still around... ) Yeah, I always watch movies in the native version. I love Anime and I never use the dub. The problem is that this often isn't good enough as sometimes it's clear that one thing is said and the sub-titles don't reflect. Example? Advent Children. In one scene you can hear Barret say "xxxx Cloud", which I assume is "Go Cloud!". But the subtitles say "Alley Ooop"...

So are you going to pay up or what?

Actually I think the movies were brought down by the effects. As you said... ...which while I think it's kind of true, you also have actors like Natalie Portman (who normally is good) doing bad performances as well. I blame the sets... or lack of! There's a show saying of "It'll be right on the night" and generally it's true. From my own experiences being in costume and on stage really help you feel in character. But these poor guys were working with blue screens and CG-stand-ins for the most part; it's no wonder they weren't at their best. IMHO out of the main cast only Ewan McGregor handled that stuff well. (On a side note when Ricardo Montalban was performing as Khan in Trek II he didn't do the lines at the same time as William Shatner. There's this great interview of him describing the difficulty to be such an extreme character when Kirks lines were being read out by a soft spoken woman! )

Well it's the wrong Walrus, but thanks just the same. (I'll use it for at least a week. ) Even so, the more I think about it, the more I think this topic is a fun killer. The problem with topics like this is it actually encourages us to not give the tags as otherwise people will try to repeat the trick. For example, when I read Izzy's idea I thought "Cool! That would be so appropriate!"... but I can't do it now. Thus to prevent me crying more, I'm closing this.

Since there's a steam train on the bridge, it's actually Shonash Ravine. It doesn't become "Eastwood" until he gets back to the future. In any case, it's a gorgeous bridge and scene. I'll take a better look at it later. Errr... please don't do that. I'll move it to town instead.

Thanks! Good point. I've added that to the list. (I've been waiting for someone to say that unicorns don't fly... ) Sadly? I was so grumpy when they started turning up in Sydney.... and even more when they spread. Seeing them close made me smile...

I'd love a tag of me on a unicorn flying next to a beautiful rainbow on a sunny spring day. gylman

Two small incidents, and Empire was in the 80s... Indeed... and I probably should drop this. But I will say one more thing; George himself (most of the time) denies that the sequel trilogy was planned. The whole story has six episodes.... If I ever went beyond that, it would be something that was made up. I really don't have any notion other than 'Gee, it would be interesting to do Luke Skywalker later on.' It wouldn't be part of the main story, but a sequel to this thing. I get asked all the time, 'What happens after Return of the Jedi?,' and there really is no answer for that. The movies were the story of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, and when Luke saves the galaxy and redeems his father, that's where that story ends. ...but then there's this famous quote; As the saga of the Skywalkers and Jedi Knights unfolded, I began to see it as a tale that could take at least nine films to tell - three trilogies. I'll shut up now.

Red Moon Confirmation & Discussion thread
Siegfried replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I suspect "I" can't reply, so I wont! But my reasons are simple; I just don't think it's in character for her to play tourist. An apparition of her father is in the Great Hall, she thinks people are fighting in the great hall... Why would she stay outside? Yeah, Hinck may kill me in revenge for being a pain in the butt, but at least I'll die in character! -
SPOILERS BELOW! Indeed it is Georges story. But Splinter of the Mind's Eye is special in that it was written as a possible movie sequel after Alan Dean Foster wrote the A New Hope movie novel. It was the only other Star Wars story at the time and thus (unlike the EU of today) it was 100% approved by George. He gave very little input into the story line aside from making alterations to keep the possible budget down. If he had a full story planned he would not have done this, instead he would have been more strict with what went on... especially in regard to the growing Luke-Leia romance. (The Zahn books are not a major part of my reasoning, they are just mentioned to highlight that he had a similar idea to me.) Also remember that the novels are just conversion of the script with embellishment. Thus major points will be unchanged. Also things like the "I haven't gone by the name Obi-wan, though, since before you were born" line and Obi-Wan + Owen being brothers are on screen. Ultimately though there is zero proof that George had a plan, and loads of pointers that he didn't.
-
SPOILERS BELOW! I doubt that. If he did he wouldn't have had the scenes with Luke and Leia, nor would have have changed his mind at the last minute about killing Lando, and Splinter of the Mind's Eye would have never been approved. Remember also that in first release there was no "Episode IV" or "A New Hope" mentioned. I can go on about this for a while if you want, but it's pretty darn clear to me that George made the whole thing up as he went along. The prequals themselves bear little resemblance to what was implied in the originals, and I have an (unfinished) rant about that here.
