  1. Get banned for creating a duplicate account?
  2. Actually you don't understand. We don't host images for members. That is why you can only upload a very small amount.
  3. Nope, VOID is out of luck as his entry is void. (It'd be funny if we had a member called "Void"...) Yep, that's what I said. It was true then, but it's not now. The calendar has been updated with Day 24 winners...
  4. I don't really think there are any winners or losers here. I do like how there are many different opinions here, even among people who agree in parts. For example unlike Def, I largely liked the Bane/Knightfall series... although I sometimes do wonder why Batman was so stupid to play into Banes hand. I'd really love to seen it done in a movie form, live action or otherwise, but it'd really be a fan movie as it would have to assume too much. But thanks all for your opinions... seriously. It's great to know that there are many people passionate about Batman on EB!
  5. Well I don't agree with them! Problem 1: How can you install software remotely on so many phones of different carriers and makes without permission? Answer? You can't. Problem 2: How can you get everyone's phone communicating via cell towers at once? You can't. Problem 3: How can he get access to that kind of data? He could via the FBI/CIA taps that every exchange in the USA has. But he'd need physical access or permission... and the systems aren't designed to tap everyone. Problem 4: Can phones output a high enough pitch and then accurately receive it omni-directionally with direction data? I don't think so, but I'll be generous and say yes! Problem 5: How could he turn that echo into usable data? It's possible, but I doubt it would be very clear. You'd need to use accelerometers to pre-process the data and send it on. Problem 6: What happens when all the phones go flat because somehow he managed to pull off problem 1-5 and had everyones phone running all the time? I'll let you answer that one since you've seen the DVD. I don't have a problem with the plane sequence though.
  6. You're either betraying your age here or you were humming really loud at the time. Loads of people complained about it, even I did and I'm a huge Arnold fan. He did an OK job in the end, but ultimately it suited the absurdity of the whole movie. As for Heath (who's death is nothing to do with the conversation) his acting was wonderful in the role of a psychotic disfigured person, but it sure was not the Joker. Jack Nicholson's version was off base, but Heaths was way way off base. Well I've only watched it once (remembering that I don't like the movie), and your request is unreasonable, but I'll give it a try. * Implausible plot. For example no criminal is dumb enough to work with someone who clearly kills all of his gang. * Boring, implausible and dragged out scene on the boats. * Music is horrible. * Bale mumbles really badly. * Absurd plot. There's not enough connection between Batman and Joker for any such motivation. Dent by himself would be a more obvious target. Now it's your turn; please, name a few structured points, without basing them on comparison to other Batman stuff, about why it is good. I hope not; it's not meant for 12 year olds.
  7. Wow. Very nice... and much bigger than I expected. I hopeful must buy for me!
  8. To be honest I disliked the first so much I haven't found the courage to watch anymore! That is pretty funny. I'm with the anti-Bay fans on this one. It's very true. For example I liked Spiderman 2... but I know very little about Spiderman. Chances are I'd feel different if I was a fan. "Bane" looks nothing like Bane, and speaks with the wrong accent. This implies a very different background. The only reason why I know he's supposed to be Bane is because of the promo stuff. That is also generally true. Fan service movies, such as Final Fantasy Advent Children, are not targeting the general public. Very true. Yeah I've heard about that. I personally have no actor preference, if anything I'd rather an unknown. As for a director I'll be delusional and say Ridley Scott.
  9. For anyone near one, Costco have sales; Alien Mothership 7065 $40 (List $100) Hogwarts 4867 $50 (List $100) Republic Frigate 7964 $100 (List $200)
  10. The problem is that the Nolan movies are just as unbelievable as the rest. That portable microwave heating thing, phone-system-radar and the Bat-pod are the best examples of that. The funny thing is I did recently buy the Blu-ray set of the first four. Here's what I thought; 1. Batman. Good, but it's too dominated by Joker, the plot is all over the place, and it's a bit slow in parts. 2. Batman Returns. Aside from a few scenes (such as the hijacking of the Penguins speech) it's very good still. I think this is still the best live action Batman movie. 3. Batman Forever. Terrible. The music, the Riddler, the neon, the nipples... it was a struggle to get to the end. 4. Batman and Robin. I got to the scene where the ice-skates poped out of Batman and Robins shoes and I could watch no more. I might try another time. It's pretty bad. I do think Batman Begins is probably the second best Batman movie, but considering the age of the first, and the deliberate excessive campiness of the Joel ones, it's not a fair comparison.
  11. ...fixed! There were two name changes. Sorry about that. BTW, at this point in time I have no details from Santa "CopMike" Claus about tomorrow; he only wanted winners for the first 23 days. So expect something different tomorrow... or nothing!
  12. ...and that's all they will ever be. That was a small part of his training. In the movie it was clear he had lost his way. Not very Batman. He is far more driven than that, often to the point of stupidity, for example Knightfall. Indeed, but he wasn't funny! For example in the Killing Joke when he shoots Barbara he starts making book jokes and says that her value is reduced due to a damaged spine. Sick+funny=Joker. Sick by itself is just missing the point. No major problem with Scarecrow. Too cool, too cute, but I suppose that brings in the women. I like Scarecrow to be a bit of a looser in his "real" persona, but I can accept small variances like that. I do have a problem with what Nolan sees as realistic though. For example once he included the Batpod he lost me 100% on that angle. But in what way was he Ra's? Just by trying to destroy Gotham? I didn't even mention Gordon, but you're missing my point. Fox is virtually told that Wayne is Batman. That's my problem. It's as dumb as letting Vicky in the cave in movie 1. Do you mean "The Long Halloween"? In any case I stand by my point. Too short a life. Gee man, are you trying to cause trouble? "Read more"? How about "Get over yourself"? This is all just opinions. Down? Is that a feather joke? But you're wrong, there already is a good Batman movie; Mask of the Phantasm. I also thought Sin City was good. Sure movie Batman is different, just like the 70s TV Batman is different, and the original Batman is different (who used a gun and killed). But to me it's like saying M%g^ Bl*ks and LEGO are the same just because they fit together. To me Nolan doesn't understand Batman, and I suppose that means I'm saying that you don't either. I personally liked Batman Begins as a movie, but The Dark Knight I didn't like at all. Things like the Batpod and the mobile-phone-radar-system are just too laughingly stupid (in a 70s James Bond kind of way) for me to like in an action movie. If someone needs to create rubbish technoligy to resolve a story I think he needs to work on his story writing skills. (...and that's why a lot of Star Trek The Next Generation sux.) Well it's all just opinions, and when people are passionate about things they aren't always passionate in the same way. But that's half the fun.
  13. You can't. I'll fix this.
  14. I realise you're not replying to me, but I personally can tolerate (what I see as) small changes providing the character is unaltered. Most of the changes in the Rocksteady games are minor (but they did change Penguin too much IMHO) and thus I had no problem with the games. (In fact I quite like them... aside from the fact they kill too many characters.) But I'm struggling to see how this "Bane" even is Bane. His voice implies a different background for one. But Nolan has done this in every movie and for the most part his changes are beyond my tolerance; Batman: Past completely different. Instead of spending years logically training he stuffed around for years and then was taught how to be a ninja. Lucius Fox: Knows who Batman is! Ra's al Ghul: So way off I don't know where to start. Joker: Forgets to be funny. Two Face: Too short a life. Scarecrow: Too pretty, but I can tolerate him. Quite simply Nolan has no respect for the source material. One could say "why does it matter"... but it does. If he's going to use actual Characters then he should use them as they are. The people who don't know Batman wont know or care, and people like me will be happier.
  15. Very nice! The annoying thing about this model is that it's actually releasable... and that it won't be. I love how you got the rear right (unlike TLG) and have a gap near the engines. One question; is the big front escape module removable?
  16. I'm just stating an opinion. I'm actually glad that I haven't made a review that makes him unlikable just because I don't think much of him. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.
  17. Set Index: Evo 6200 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErG5is6E50c (I can't find a description yet, but I'll add it later.) Evo returns with his "1.0" mask! I'm aware that many don't like this new packaging system, but I do. I've got loads of canisters going back to the Slizers days, and I've got plenty. If using this pagaging will help TLG reduce prices, increase parts, or just make TLG more profitable I'm cool with that. On aspect of the canisters that has always worried me is how tamperable they are... and how one annoying child half opening a set will make it hard to sell, which results in higher prices for everyone. The Hero's packaging all have "zips" marked with the Hero Factory symbol. On the back is some function shots, highlighting the cuffs and the shooting function. One thing that appeals to me with this line is that the packages all feel so full. In fact to get them in there the bags are folded over; this photo shows how it was prior to emptying. I'm not sure how this is done via a machine as they would need to be shook to one side first to avoid damage. Emptied and unfolded! Revealed the bounty is. There's nothing hugely exciting in this set aside from the mask and chest piece I think it's not new or in others of this line. Instructions part list. Surprisingly decent parts variety. Now that the parts are out we can see the poackage a bit better. (No, I'm not careful like LuxorV... ) First part is the mask... which I must admit I find disappointing. The cover mask looks deeper/embossed and generally more interesting. It could just be a combination of being yellow and my photography, so I might try again a bit later. But certain details, like the holes on the "nose" aren't ever close to the picture. Inside it's nothing special. The cuffs! Even though they don't look as good as the ones in the videos, they are still pretty cool. I quite like the new "cuff" part, and I've always liked the chain. I'm looking forward to using the cuff part in system MOCs! The torso is an interesting print. It looks all techy. The new gun part looks good in gun-metal! TLG must have been having complaints about the apparant lack of clarity with what panel to use. In sets with different panels of the same colour the number... ...is referred to in the instructions. Seems a bit much to me, but the target audience is 6, so I suppose it makes sense. The building commences with the skeleton. Evo is pretty standard here, so I made him do pushups. Finished and ready. It's a shame that the black 2 axel is rare now as it ruins the clean look of the gun. Sparies.... oh... spare. It's the price of the lack of small parts I suppose. I think he looks best from this side, but the mask to me is a letdown. It all just blends visually, much like Waspix did. It's tempting to dirty it up, or ink the edges. It'd look a lot better then. Old image. From the back... er... yeah, no improvement here. Interestingly if you look at the promo video you'll see that he looks a lot more buffed up there (no surprise), but if you look at the video he's got the same foot trick as Rocka 6202. Was this the plan? Old Image. Speaking of plans, here's Evo's plan; cuff Toxic Reapa aka. Sludge... ...and in this reality he succeeds! Hurrah? Now they can combine! I think this is one of the better combiners. New photos! I'm trying to get some shadows... When my wife saw this one she thought they were cuddling. I said "no!"... but I'm starting to agree. Evo almost looks like he's leaning in rather than resisting. It's such a pose-fail that I had to include it regardless! Ratings Posability: Good. The gun arm restricts movement a bit, but that's the only issue. (To be honest most of the Hero Factory sets pose well so I probably should drop this criteria!) 8/10 Parts: Really only the custom parts are special, but this is also the only set with a gun-metal gun part. 6/10 Looks: Not too impressed, sorry to say. The packaging looks so much better. 4/10 Fudge: Too EVOlutionary. 3/10 Overall: Meh? Unless you really want that gun part I can't recommend this one. 5/10 Bonus Image: Evo with 2.0 armour. This review is part of a series. If you feel some aspect wasn't covered be sure to check my review for Black Phantom, Toxic Reapa and Rocka before asking about it! I might improve some of these photos if time permits... but if you have anything in mind please feel free to ask. Bonus closing thoughts This being my last review of this Hero Factory wave (until these come to my locality sometime next decade) I might as well include my overall thoughts on this line. In short; I really like what I see! With the exception of this set (and probably Surge, but I haven't got him) TLG are trying something different. Gone is the 6x good guys of the same size and a few bad guys that are slightly bigger that's been done too much for too long, instead we have what seems to be three different sizes with bad guys having the same variance. Gone is the canisters as well... although I suspect that I'm one of the few that likes this change. I do wish however that TLG took greater care in ensuring the rendered masks match the final version. Some, like Black Phantom and Toxic Reapa are beautiful, others like Evo are disappointing. The lack of a back is also a constant annoyance for me. But it's wonderful to see TLG make so many big changes in a short space of time (Bionicle -> Hero Factory -> Ball socket building -> No canisters) and I'm excited to think what'll happen next year!
  18. Very nice. Merry Christmas!
  19. Very cool; much more identifiable than mine. Even so, you've fallen into a common LEGO CAD issue; you've used rare parts.
  20. Mr Cobblepot I'm with you 100%. I thought the Dark Knight was bad, but this one is even worse. I may just have to miss this one completely and make a film with my Batman LEGO. It'd be less flashy, but it would be more true to the source...
  21. No, they are exactly the same as the ones on Waspix. My work here is done. Tomorrow. It's mostly done. I just had Christmas stuff to do today and yesterday.
  22. Yeah, I think you're right. For one, the eyes have been slightly enhanced That's my exact point. There should be at least one image of the set as any twit can set it up to look like. People should be able to see what they are actually buying. Thus a render post naturally is OK, but a photo would be better. I agree. Takanuva is pretty cool; I really need to buy or make him. ...so you're saying he has a big big behind? Too true! I should post my collection one day; I've even got the Zamor Spheres set! I will! I'll have to take some better photos. Since these sets came late to us these were really rushed reviews and I didn't have time to set up a big area for photos. Sorry, I don't have him.
  23. Well that was going to go in the Evo review but since you called him "Sludge" I'll add it here as well.
  24. Elderscroll / tj19941994 has refunded the money he took and he asked for his apologies to be posted so... He has been banned over this regrettable issue and we'll probably be changing somme trading rules.
