It can depend. Some, like the RA tags, are used as classification to show a rank, some are just used to show off skill at doing something such as the "MOC expert tags" Some for being active in a particular forum, good reviews, participating in activities, etc. A full explanation can be found here about midway through the post. Related to the topic at hand, I'm just now beginning my HoM entry. Nothing says competition like being last minute..

Most thoughts have been summed up that I'll agree with. Theres a good balance going on here with HF style and complexity, with the best part seeming to be the torso design. One question does come to mind, something that struck me immediately as I saw this; ...Is that Kraata a mohawk?

Well I'll be in Chicago from the 26-28th so I should be good on time, Would rather avoid shipping costs of S@H (I'd do a ton of separate transactions to get as many kits as possible so not free shipping for me)

How Long does it last? The lego store here in Michigan doesn't usually have a nice selection of Hero Factory so i'll need to hit up the one in Chicago when I go there on the 26th, hoping this promotion is still running then. And nice review I was looking forward to seeing how that black brain looked. (I mean It's not like black is a crazy concept but just how creepy it ended up looking.)

Thanks for the feedback everyone, Yes, the silver is the odd one out color wise here, and my next improvements on this guy will be to refine his color scheme. The main change with this version was to get rid of the horrid amount of red, yellow, orange, etc, from Tyrant. Getting him to all black, gunmetal, and silver was the first challenge. The Silver is difficult to remove completely because some vital parts are silver; The toes, claws, and that 8-long silver piece is vital as well. Speaking of which, I'd like to comment on that; His middle toe on both feet is the long silver 8 long armor piece found on drilldozer's torso. That piece is locked in place and all of his frontal weight rests on that connection, whilst the back rests on the two "thruster" pieces. Usually this caused some stability issues because posing his feet to an angle could cause him to slip out under his own weight. As WARHEAD noted, he is surprised this guy can support his own weight; That's the secret, Chaos actually can support himself; Tyrant was a pain in the megablocks to pose without him collapsing. With Chaos, he has en entire third support, bringing the amount of connection points for his leg to 3. As for the gaps, there are a few things to take into mind. Yes, I'm still at a lack of parts, trying to budget myself here because I'm getting a more pricey car that's going to kill me on insurance. At the same note, there is a secret thing that I'll be building into him that'll cover a lot of the gaps. Every update to him will be focused on gap filling and color refining; The main design of him at this point is about final. Also yes, the hammer will be redone later, but again I have very limited parts to work with; Once I get the parts that I'm trying to get, it should look a lot "meaner" and bulkier.

AKA, Tyrant 2.0 (tyrant 1.0 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=70810 ) Will be cracking out the DSLR later this week on a decent weather day but I'm modding it at the moment so I had to resort to a...less than ideal method, hopefully will be able to snap some better photos than the below average ones here(Over grainified...thanks phone camera.) Whatever, there is Chaos. Yes, I changed his name. Less fire this time, more color scheme consistency. Yes, I know he has two red bone pieces in his legs and an orange torso bit on his waist. No, I do not have replacements for those. Yes, I am buying ones in black. And he needed a weapon; What is more fitting than a big ***ing hammer? Anyways this is the most major changes I'll be making to Chaos for now, it's time for me to move on to a new project. PROJECT HALCYON. Sorry, no teaser leg shots this time around, but keep on eye out on the things I post and you may just see a teaser soon enough. I'll give some hints; -I like white. And trans blue. Don't you? -Building big was fun. -Chaos looks lonely up there. Good day VBBN

Final HF set= Furockormer XXXXXL Just an idea All jokes aside if they are continuing, I really, REALLY want a theme to the heroes that is a bit more inspiring than the Brains. Western theme, Space theme, Apocalyptic, SOMETHING. Granted many people may enjoy the concept of brain attack, but for me it's just not striking any "wow" factors and this whole year has just been a money saver.

Getting a Nidhiki vibe from this one, with the design of the four legs(with spikes as feet) and the body with arms as the upper half. I know some people may find it a harsh contrast but I really like the Dark red and Trans-neon Green panels, I've always appreciated that color combo.

Considering entering the B/A mainly because I like before and after scenerios, but I think the HoM would allow my extreme building preference to flourish a bit more. I'm also somewhat terrible at designing creatures, so I think staying away from the Alien aspect of it is a lot better of a choice. Can't enter the Chima contest unfortunately, have no Chima sets at all and I'm trying to hold off spending anything until I go to Chicago next month, their lego store is a bit bigger than the one we have here in Michigan. EDIT: Actually, scratch that, I suppose I can enter the Chima one, building a weapon wouldn't be too challenging by any means,

Just trying to cut down the mass of parts that I have. There are a few bits in there that are trash that I will take out(for example in the picture I see a piece that is split in half from a previous custom) unless yous want me to leave it there. Taking best offers plus shipping, let me know if interested. All parts come from a smoke-free home. Larger photo will be provided if requested.

Glad to see our area getting some love on the forums. And excellent prizes, having them signed is a very awesome idea.

Glad you guys like the new head, Here is a bit more of a closeup for those interested, I think this more "contained" look fits him better, like a being in black armor with fire raging inside of him, It still maintains the "monster" but doesn't just look like a jumble of parts. many recommendations people had given were to reduce the amount of jumble he has, to make him more unified, but giving him a more black-dominate scheme and more fluent shell pieces I think he will have a far superior look compared to what he is now. I will be redoing a massive portion of him; His arms needs to be totally redone(they were the last thing built so I was running out of parts), the legs will be a bit more compact and built, and his body has to be totally redone. (In fact right now he cant even keep his head on. The old head had two connection points horizontal from eachother, now the points need to be vertical)

Well thank you, THough since you went ahead and revived this topic I'll go ahead and give you guys a quick update, He has a new head, and soon all of his form will be styled based off of the head.

The 3-eyed aspect of it was always nice to me. Also I have decided which sets I'll be grabbing; -Surge -Evo -Rocka(Mocing purposes, will wait for a better sale I think) -Stormer Expect reviews as soon as I can mange to find them. Passing on Dragon Bolt as I want to wait for a black Friday sale to get multiple of him, and Rocka is not as appealing as he once was..

For the record, Reidak's prototype face rocked. Related to the point at hand, that cover looks horrible with Scarox in set form.

Not to fuel a fire, but as a friendly suggestion pocketmego, I would recommend you to take some pictures of the MOCs you build and post them in your first post. Youtube ideas are a different idea, but what many don't realize is that by just posting a link, many people are going to skip over your MOC. It's the same situation with people who post links to pictures instead of deeplinking the pictures in img tags, people just don't want to have to click on them and go through that process. It seems silly, but I think if you supplement your video with pictures you will get more feedback and satisfy more people. With that said the MOCs are simple with nothing groundbreaking, though I do like the silver takanuva, it could be my nostalgia bias coming in but thats a different story. I think his original white limbs would look better as in his current state he looks like Kopaka nuva with a different mask to be honest. The inika form is interesting, though I wonder what he would be like if you utilized armor from jaller/tarix to make him have a golden scheme. It's an idea anyway. -VBBN

Serj from System of a Down and David from Disturbed. Could it get any better?

I'm basically a filthy casual when it comes to star trek as I've always sided more with Star Wars, but this was a decent movie. While there may be some changes in the villain building and such that displease many hardcore fans, i think a sequel to the first movie in this new series it was excellent. most movie sequels rely on bigger fights, bigger enemies, bigger destruction, this one seemed to handle that a lot better than other ones, and I think that's a fantastic step in the right direction. While an all out war would have been nice (cough klingons) it was still well done in my opinion. Then again since I am not too knowledgeable on the subject, I'm sure many of the things I liked, others hated.

It looks much more solid, and I think you should try your hand at Speed Demon's bike, but I still think it is way oversized for Furno. Perhaps a Furno somewhat-Xl to ride it?
-
Starting with a leg picture eh? It's looks fairly decent so far. My quirks are mainly the fact that is seems a bit too flat, there is no depth to the width of the legs, and I also think a bit of angle to the toes could help. Also I'm not sure just how blue you want him to be, but if you are planning a lot of blue elsewhere in him you might want to even that out by replacing some of the silver if you can still make it look fluent.

Iron Man 3. Mixed feelings.

Not nessecarily bionicle in comparison, many examples of this have existed from transformers to old power armor toys to designs of Gundamn, but to relate to the only true instance we have see if this, I extend my thoughts to the Exo-toa. In regard to the 2008-2009 vehicles, they were giant floating guns with a half-assed figure slapped on top in 2008 and weapons-on-wheels in 2009, so I agree with those being far less integrated than this figure. Don't get me wrong, I still do enjoy the design of the figure, I like many others immediately have that jetwing prime feel from him, and for a bit less of a cost I am certain I will like the set even more in my hands. We just need a proper villain to fight, as others have said dragon bolt isn't really an ideal opponent for him. Both can fly, sure, but personally in my mind breez will be pulling out two swords and engaging into combat with our dragon bolt friend. -VBBN

Rocka lightyear is a very iffy figure for me. While he does look decent for parts, to me he is just an awkward design. Everyone always enjoys these designs, but what I really like is something like the Exo-Toa. It's not just a backpack smacked onto a figure, it's integrated and flows well with it. I've actually always felt this was in the regard to XL heroes, I think it should be a suit that they integrate with to become larger and more powerful, not a physically larger hero itself. That and I would need to change rocks as a pilot himself, I've never liked his personality and that enough is valid for me to want to change who pilots this. I'm still on the fence of being annoyed that rocka, like furno, has gotten yet another large set, but I think the major problems here is that it needs,,,something added to it. What that is that needs to be added, is an experiment of parts that I'll need to conduct -VBBN

Ideas for New Action Themes
VBBN replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I've always wanted a theme similar to Exo-Force to return (I know, big shocker) For one thing, I love Mechs, that's no surprise. The mechs that have come from lines like Power Miners, Ninjago, etc, to me haven't been as cool as the ones from Exo-Force. They lack that...feeling that EF gave. Maybe it was mix of the firepower and the asian theme that set them apart, but they had personality. Of course that is complimented by a rather extensive story for a theme, and the pilots, which were like a "super squad" (power rangers?) Which is another aspect i very much like. A group of brings who each specializes in their own thing, to me is an idea that I wish would be played out in more themes than just action figure themes. es, there are different characters in every line, but they don't truly take what they are best at and just knock it out of town. -
A decent selection, though I would recommend being ready to do some modifications to Bruizer and Scarox, their functions take a toll on the outcome of the set.
