About Me
I am an AFOL from Cologne, Germany and have joined here as "Captain Braunsfeld".
When the first pirate series appeared in the 90s I was fascinated. There was actually a brief interlude in my "dark ages" when I bought three of the sets (including the Armada Flagship - I really liked the Spanish Guys a lot).
Then other things were more important. After the birth of my sons the Star Wars series got me into Lego again.
2005 saw the final break-through as my wife and I realized that building with Lego would make a great hobby - and (also important) being adults we could afford much more sets and bricks as compared to ourselves as children.
I am building MOCs in several topic areas which makes it more difficult for me to specialise.
Castles are great, spaceships and houses too, the dwarves are fabulous - and I like Napoleonic soldiers and "pirate ships" (redcoats, bluecoats, etc.).
Historic accuracy is not the key focus. Playability is more important - and an element of fun, whenever possible.
What surprises me is the difference in "attraction" that a certain MOC is drawing. This is definitely not related to the hours invested into the MOC.
Here are my "top three" MOCS.
1) Lake Town House

2) British Mortars

3) HMS Lion

So these were very popular.
However, there are some MOCs, which I myself like very much and which also cost a lot of time to build:
a) Palace "Jaune Banane"

b) Fortress in the Snow (This had got some followers)

c) The "Prince Ian-Lucas"

Ok, some more recent "nonsense":
