  1. Very nicely done! Your story is great and you certainly succeeded on the modular building style.
  2. Thank you! Some amazing pieces already available. Most notably are from set 80101 and 80102. Here's what I've found so far (sorry, some of the pieces are not new, just ones I needed):
  3. Thanks CopMike! Does this mean if we never got our prize from 2017, that you'll be able to send it with our 2018 prize? I sent you a PM with my info on both prizes. Let me know if you need me to send it again.
  4. Our first episode is live!
  5. Where does your character lay his/her head at night? Do you crash in a berth on your starship? Do you have a luxury apartment? Maybe your species is more aquatic like the Mon Calamari and sleeps in the water or breathes a different atmosphere mix like the Kel'Dor and sleeps in an ammonium chamber. Or maybe you're part of an organized fighting force and you sleep in the barracks. Wherever you call home, show us your digs for this contest. The Rules: Portray your character or one of your supporting cast in his/her quarters/bunk. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Factions subforum, the title prefixed by, "[Factions Ep. I]" All entries must be entered using this form: Link to Submittal Form All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds, as long as they follow the above described goals. The Episode will run from Jan 17th to Feb 25th. As long as it is still Feb 25th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. Entries will be judged according to the following rules: Your build can earn up to 50 points. The amount of points you earn is also the amount of XP your character earns. IP will can be earned from entries for this contest if the build follows the normal IP rules. The faction that earns the highest cumulative XP will be the Winning Faction This episode/contest is open to all players of Factions, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to the start date of this episode. You can use creations for this contest in other forums or contests, but it should not have been displayed before the start date for this contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. Post pictures no larger than 1024x768, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. The Prizes: All the players on the winning faction will receive a PM with the location of the first holocron. You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges. Your faction will receive IP if your MOC is eligible for them.
  6. Interesting as Lando was never in "yellow" form. I wonder if he'll be the only skin toned figure.
  7. You can put multiple builds in one post and we will judge them all together. So if you had 4 builds worth roughly 5 points each, you might get up to 20 points. But I will warn you that it's hard to be subjective in that scenario. While they collectively might be worth 20 points, by presenting them together you might only get 15 points. A lot comes down to presentation at that point. I might suggest only combining 2 MOCs at a time in an entry. There is also nothing wrong with smaller MOCs! If you don't have a big collection, you can still post and participate. Sorry, not sure how I missed that question. Planets not currently accessible will be accessible later in the game. We have a particular mechanic ready to launch at a certain point. You'll just have to wait and see!
  8. So if I bought a Bomber from US Lego.com, how would I know which set I'd get? This is quite a problem for minifig collectors. No Walmart or Target near me has it in stock anymore.
  9. He was mutinied and shipwrecked.
  10. The biggest problem with BoBS, is that the leaders can't see that there is a problem. Again, this is not a slight towards all you putting in a bunch of time to try to make this work. But playing whack-a-mole with whatever problem you think is causing issues in the game will never work. The game was written to work a certain way by Ska. It was taken over by Bregir and others who tried to "fix" the game with patches. Now it's so buggy the only solution is to start over. But instead all we get is another patch. Welcome to BoBS 2.764. Alright, it was 6 last year. I stand corrected. Vol 3. Issue 2 Vol 3. Issue 3 Vol 3. Issue 4 Vol 3. Issue 5 Vol 3. Issue 6 Vol 3. Issue 7
  11. Wow. I have no desire to play (even in a small way) anymore. Too many rules. Too many rule changes. Every effort seems to be made to make it harder to earn DBs and harder to understand how to earn them. MCRAs only happen 4-5 times a year. To get no property DBs because the leadership in charge of the MCRA goes missing, links to forms are lost, or other RL delays is a harsh punishment. And on top of that you want everyone to pay an arm and a leg for forts. Fewer DBs, more expenses, and more rule changes = not a lot of fun. My opinions on the many changes in BoBS is well documented. But this is the nail in the coffin. I hope some consideration is made regarding my comments. I can't threaten to leave, because that's exactly what many in leadership want: fewer pirates. But what desire I had to see where BoBS goes is almost nil. Thank you to everyone who has honestly wanted to make this game a success and has worked hard to do so. Somewhere during this journey the way was lost. I doubt BoBS will ever find it again.
  12. A couple other examples of Lego changing figs is the Kanan figure in the Ghost set. He originally had a black wig and black printed facial hair. They changed mid production to brown after the show came out and they realized brown was a closer match. I also bought two copies of the Endor battle pack that had white printing on the stormtrooper's heads in one, and flesh printing in the other. A different kind of change are the Harry Potter wands. Two different molds for the wand holders. Buy one of the first batch production and you get one mold, buy a latter production run and get the newer mold. I even got both kinds in one set which means they were in the middle of switching over and needed to get rid of the old version still. This doesn't prove Finch will be in the bomber, in fact I think it disproves it since all the examples are of sets still in production and the bomber is out of production. But it does show Lego has pulled this move before.
  13. You're all set now!
  14. It says you've disabled downloading of the picture, so I can't grab the URL for you. But if you go to this link, and right click on the picture, you should be able to choose "copy picture location." Then paste that here for me.
  15. We absolutely reserve the right to give out 0XP scores. The scenario above would certainly warrant that. This game is about improving MOC skills, story building in the SW universe, and having fun! If you try to game the system you will not get far.
  16. Marceline uses those in the Dimensions pack.
  17. Previously Mick took his team to Faerie Junction next. An Imperial remnant had claimed this world as its own. But as there was no official statement from the New Republic on this particular fragment of its former enemy, CorSec was free to intervene in galactic affairs that may take place on the planet's surface. Intelligence gathered at Bothawui indicated unrest in one of the cities. Hoping for a chance to see if CorSec could do some good, Mick and his team landed just outside the city limits. After hearing a call for local Imperial security to get involved in an incident Mick took Kortan, a Kiffar, with him to investigate. Mick: "Kortan, we're here to help solve a security case if we can, but we also need to find out what this city's feelings towards the Empire are. However, we must be careful not to start an incident. Remember your training." Mick and Kortan approached the scene of what seemed to be a murder. Kortan: "Excuse my officers, may I lend my assistance?" Imperial Droid: "This is a matter for Imperial security, move along." Kortan: "My apologies, let me introduce myself. I am Kortan Vos, the famous CorSec investigator? What? You've never heard of me! Allow me to show my skills and you will soon join the chorus of those singing my praises." Imperial Officer: "No, that's quite alright. We have this under control. But you may observe the power of the Imperial forces at work. Perhaps you'll learn a thing or two." Mick was impressed. Kortan had skillfully planted them into the situation by appealing to the Imperial's bruised ego. His pupils were learning much from their training and it was making him proud.
  18. Lovely intro! I'm excited to see where your character's story goes.
  19. Commander Sinbad: Notorious pirate captain in charge of the Komodo Dragon II and other famous ships.
  20. Great rain effect and the build looks good too. The trees have nice volume to them. Did you buy a bunch of Tie Fighter sets or did you manage to get those helmets a different way? Don't forget to fill out this form to get your build judged.
  21. Thank you everyone! I have to credit @Ecclesiastes for the pine tree design.
  22. Great doodle! I find builds like this to be very helpful in getting my creative juices flowing. Don't forget to fill out this form to get your build judged.
  23. Ah, I didn't know about that Cathar people. I've played KOTOR, but not SWTOR. It's true the Mutant Turtles head fits better than the Chima heads, I've just always had a hard time overcoming the rat shape. The Cathar look like a cool race. I hope they show up in other SW media soon.
  24. No apologies needed! Your comments are actually very helpful. I was really into photography when I was in college but haven't used my DSLR as much in recent years. So my knowledge of how to best use aperture and ISO is very rusty. I'll give your suggestions a try and see what happens. For hosting? I'm hosting on Bricksafe.com.
  25. Target has most new Star Wars sets on sale right now. You have to check their website and have them price match themselves at the register to get the deal though.
