The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
MKJoshA replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I went to my local Lego store on Jan 1st to buy a box of Series 2. I was told I could only buy 40 packets, not a whole box. Bought the left and middle columns of the box. Turns out each section didn't have a complete set. I ended up with 1 full set, 1 extra Strange and Zan, and missing a FaF Alfred and a Jan. The first figure in the left column was Strange and the first two in the middle column were Strange. Anyone else find the same order? -
You need to use an external photo hosting site like flickr. Then post the url here and it'll add the picture to your post.

Yes, post both builds during the week. The tricky part is movement. We'll play it by ear a little, but for now plan on having only the first entry specify movement. Both entries will earn movement, but it'll be added together each week into 1 lump sum.

Here's my version of the Master Code Breaker:
-
Update! Both Teams collected a bonus that now allows 2 entries per week instead of just 1. The rule that any 1 person cannot post 2 weeks in a row is still in effect. The Empire is on a Plains square, the Rebels are on a Forest square with a little bit of shore.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Guys, please keep the conversation about the sets, not about Lego's store policies. -
Update! The Rebels have collected the bonus on R3. I'm also adding some clarification to the rules so go check it out! The Rebels are still on a Forest Square and the Empire is on a Square with Forest, Shoreline, and a body of Water.

Previously: Chapter 1 Chapter 2: Sinbad the Pirate Hang The Rules Rescued Shipwright Shipwright's Office The Komodo Dragon "Because They're Pirates!" Fish Market The Trial of Sinbad The Trial of Sinbad part 2 The Trial of Sinbad part 3 You claim my client is "not nice." You're twisting my words! I'm saying your client is guilty of acting evilly. Gentlemen of the court, you may not realize this, but one of the causalities when the HMS Mardier's Misfit sank had a widow who lives in this very city. A Corrington officer brought her the bad news. She was greatly distraught and now had no way to provide for herself and her household. The Corrington officer could do nothing more than offer his condolences. But when Sinbad heard about her plight. He brought her enough money to live on for at least the next year. Now you tell me, does this sound like the actions of a man bent on evil? To be continued...

Whoops Too much copy-and-paste. Fixed now!

Movement: We'd like to move up 1, to R3. "Hey boys, look what we have here!" shouted one of the Rebel troopers. "Looks like this Scout Trooper needs to go back to the academy!" "Should we cut him down?" "Nah! Let's leave him to whatever creature set up this trap."

[SR - MCRA Dec] The Trial of Sinbad part 3
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, to be able to claim each build that's part of the story, I have to submit them all as separate topics. -
Part 3 is up!

Previously: Chapter 1 Chapter 2: Sinbad the Pirate Hang The Rules Rescued Shipwright Shipwright's Office The Komodo Dragon "Because They're Pirates!" Fish Market The Trial of Sinbad The Trial of Sinbad part 2 You say it is wrong for my client to attack your ships. Let me give you another scenario. Imagine with me, a scene down by the docks. One man, a good business man, owns a warehouse. But a better business man buys him out. Now, is this better business man wrong for being better? Of course not! He's just proven himself superior in his trade. Can we please got on with this? Of course, but just as if nothing would happen if the less shrewd warehouse owner had put up a fuss about being bought out, so to should nothing happen to my client. As already proven, his actions were sanctioned by Corrington's Vice Admiral himself. Just because you don't like that my client practiced his superior skills against Corrington's ships is inconsequential. Um, hmm, that makes sense but it still doesn't seem right. Or course it's not right! No matter what he says, it's not nice to sink other people's ships! So it comes down to moral character does it? Let me give you another example... To be continued...

We'll have plenty of weeks for everyone to build. If one or both teams can't build because of Christmas, that's not the end of the world.
-
Anarchy, chaos, and pandemonium come to mind But seriously, I'm trying to depict just one courtroom, not the whole Corrington legal system. You're telling me that there isn't 1 crocked judge in all of Corrington? And that there is only 1 courtroom in all of King's Harbor?

No. It's a spoof. dvogon just wanted to hijack my review of a real set.

Previously: Chapter 1 Chapter 2: Sinbad the Pirate Hang The Rules Rescued Shipwright Shipwright's Office The Komodo Dragon "Because They're Pirates!" Fish Market The Trial of Sinbad "And I say he's guilty!" responded the lawyer defending Corrington. Judge, I object. My client has done nothing wrong as his actions have been sanctioned by Corrington's Commander-in-Chief. You see, I have here a notarized statement saying as such: And where did you get such a document? From your notary of course. Ah, I see. Objection sustained. But... but... attacking our ships is just wrong! Um, well, that's true too. Defendant, how do you respond? To be continued...

First, let me say that this entire response is out-of-character. Let me also add that my comments are not directed specifically at you Ayrlego, though I hope they answer your concerns. I joined BoBS because I like to write stories and build Lego to go with it. My main purpose of this build was to write a story set in the BoBS universe. I never intended to say that there was an actual court session going on in King's Harbor. And if we have mechanics dictating what days of the year there are actual court sessions in BoBS, then this game is even more complex than I thought (and it's already complex). And Sinbad is a wanted man in Corrington if @Bregir speaks for you, and if we are keeping things of an in-character perspective: Two are my ships, two are faction ships (and as faction leader I am held responsible for their actions) and 1 is from another Sea Rat. So 4/5 ships were denounced by Bregir as being enemies of Corrington. You can believe that my intent is not to put words into Corrington's mouth. Through my builds I'm trying to have a fun interaction with the events that are happening and I will end them in such a way that everyone's "honor" is still intact. It has never been the Sea Rats' intention to single out Corrington. We aren't trying to start a war with you. But neither will we stop pursing one of our only sources of income just because Bregir demands it. Seriously, if Corrington wants to single us out we don't mind. That's just part of the game. I've just been trying to add some story background into how a Sea Rat character would react. We don't want to go all "Flint-at-the-beginning-of-season-3" on you so I've come up with a Sea Rat based story to show a different kind of reaction. Please take my builds regarding this "trial" as such. Oh, and Part 2 is up.

During week 2 the Rebels earned 2 movement points. They used those this past week (week 3). The build they used them with only earned 1 movement point which means the Rebels only get to move 1 space this week (week 4). The Empire earned 2 movements this last time (week 3) which means they get to move 2 during the build submitted this week (week 4). I hope that helps!

Sorry for the delay everyone, I had a chance to go watch Episode 8 today so that trumped getting scores and the updated map out on time Here's the map. Both teams are on a Forest square. The Empire has some water on the edge of theirs. And you'll notice a new color bonus star. Let's just say you'll really want the ones that match your team
-
You can talk about set accuracy in Spoiler Tags, yes. But as Stash pointed out, it might be better to talk about them in the 2018 thread since half the sets are 2018 sets. You can read the first post if you have questions about our policy here. Or you can look back at previous comments. But the short story is if you don't want the movie spoiled, don't read this or the 2018 thread.

Week 3 ended 4 hours ago. Scores will be up tomorrow. I'll try to update the map later today or early tomorrow.

MKJoshA replied to LegoRacer1's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I know the time is different than the usual midnight, but technically the deadline was 1 hour before you posted this. The deadline is noon, Central Standard Time (Chicago time) on Sundays. You're close enough to it that we'll let it pass this time, just everyone please be aware of the official deadline.
