Excellent entry! Glad to see some more people building 2 ships for this category!

Yes guys, please keep use this thread to talk about future sets, not complaints about how Lego does things.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
MKJoshA replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm new to using B&P and just started a month ago. Needless to say I'm addicted! What is this about it closing for a few months? -
I have this issue too. I use the function a lot when I'm judging contest entries so it's pretty important for me. The "open in new tab" option works for other ares of the forum like for thread topics, just not within a thread for pages or individual replies.

Thanks Cap for your review and your info! I'll be picking up some packs after this weekend and now I'm looking forward to them more.

This is mostly helpful How does one start the year two storyline?
-
I just finished downloading most of the new content, but I don't have a 2nd year pack yet. I can get to the new "splinter" hub, but can't access any portals. The only one would maybe be Ghostbusters as I have Veinkman, but as others have stated he doesn't seem to be able to access it without Abby. Has anyone figured out if there is new story content with year two? Or just the movie and level pack content? Do Batman, Wildstyle, and Gandolf have more adventures or is it all world based? I was hoping to begin a new story today, but maybe I have to buy a 2nd year pack first?

Just because I didn't want it to get buried, here is the link to my latest build and the end of my Graver arc.

Regarding the "see first unread post" issue. Clicking the blue brick/technic brick works, but it's not what most of us were used to doing. It was nice that threads would default to the first unread comment when you click on them. Now, I've noticed this seems to be the default in any activity stream which is nice, but for regular browsing through the forums, it would be nice to have it back. And one more comment for those who have had difficulty with the activity page, I found it helpful to choose the option on the upper right that changed it from Expanded to Condensed. It's a little bit more like what we were used to on the old forum. Second, regarding the BBCcode updating that a program is currently grinding through to bring back all our pictures, I did a manual update on one of the Star Wars SoNE topics and all the formatting seemed to go out the window. The pictures were back as of Friday, but now even those are missing. I started manualling editing it back into shape but wanted to see if there was an easier way. And now I'm also hoping you can help me get the pictures back. Third, when I try to ctrl+click on a different page number within a thread that has multiple pages, instead of opening that page in a new browser window (using Chrome or Firefox) it opens it in my current tab. For example, this thread has 11 pages. I'm typing a comment on page 11, but if I ctrl+click to go back to look at a comment on page 10, instead of opening a new tab it clears out everything I've been typing and opens page 10 right here. That's a pretty big thing for those of us who judging contests so I would humble ask that a possible solution be added to the to-do pile. Fourth, has anyone else noticed that you can ctrl+v a Flickr imagine URL directly into a post without having to post it as an image? That's incredible! I really like that feature, makes posting a lot faster for me! Lastly, THANK YOU! I know you are all putting a lot of work into this and overall I think the changes are good.

You should be able to edit your post and delete the quote. The site is still updating all old posts. We've been told it could take a week or more before they are all fixed. If you want an instant fix click "edit" on your posts and then re-save them. That will bring back any BBC code elements.

Location: E11 Fascini Cluster Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Spaceship Last time, in Ender's story: A Space Saga Begins Is it Mine Mine? Okami Bike Kawashita Hummer Where Was I Supposed to Be? Spaceman Spiff Black Hair, the Pirate Merry Men Adventures (Where There's Lava There's Water) Car On A Plate Too Girly Underwater Junk Aggressive Wildlife The Truth Underwater Segway Filing System The Coffee Shop At the End of the Universe The Doctor's Truth Bike Beats Robots Sunday Afternoon Drive Suess Island Tribble Island Kawacycle Kanto Park Space Pirates Underwater Lab OoC: The only new ship is the Kawashita red one, the rest are from previous weeks. The interior has new parts to it, but the base of the build and the left side are the same as previous weeks. Please judge accordingly. Using the information they had discovered in the lab, Ender, Valentine and her team came up with a way to defeat Graver's Robot. They found his fleet in the Fascini Cluster preparing to invade Kawashita space. Graver's Robot was passing through the halls of his hammerhead flagship when one of his bettlebots informed him that a small Kawashita ship was hailing him. Patch it through. Robot! Your reign of terror is over! And what do you think you can do to stop me? If I told you my plan, It would just give you a chance to come up with a counter-measure. Just know that there are those of us who oppose you. Just then an object came flying out of the air ducts and landed on the deck in front of Graver's Robot. What's this? Do you think you can destroy me with cheap tricks? I won't fall for any Trojan Horses. I'll destroy this immediately! Upon touching the Pokeball it activated and it's contents appeared on the deck. A Tribble? You think to destroy me with cute fluffy animals? But before Graver's Robot could finish his sentence, a warning sounded and a computer voice said, "Foreign contagion detected. Security measures beginning." What is this? Stop this at once! The computer responded, "Safety protocols cannot be stopped." No! You must release me! No! NO! NOOOOO!!!!! AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! glurg... glurg... The Tribbles had multiplied so quickly and shed fur just as fast, that they clogged Graver's Robot's systems and shut him down. Moments later his motors burned out and his circuits fried. The menace had been thwarted.

Kawashita is always looking for able-bodied builders! And don't worry, if you don't have an able body we have a wonderful cybernetics department that can help with that!

Thank you! I considered sloping the front of the Junk more, but to get that mouth the right size I really needed to keep it as flat as it is. Here's some of my inspiration. First, neither ship is for sale! I intend to license both of them myself Second, I listened to your criticism (and others) and I have added battle scene pictures! Let me know what you think. Thank you! "More sail" would have been great, but a challenge for me. From the pictures I found, Junks seemed to carry less sail than European ships, but I do agree that at least a little more height would have been nice for mine. As for your "neeeeext!" comment, if you think I'm going to spend the time building another ship this size any time soon, you'll be sorely disappointed

Thank you to everyone who has put so much work into this! I've been watching as the kinks get worked out and I like what I see! One question so far, I can't see to find a button to go to the first unread comment in a topic. Am I missing it or does it not exist yet?

At least you two didn't almost lose to the alien entry. Wow. That was embarrassing!

[SoNE Ep. XII] R08 – Den Of The Dragon

Wow! Fantastic story and your photography is impeccable! -
UPDATE! I've added some more pictures that show the actual battle between the crews. OoC: there are a lot of pictures, if you want the "poster shot" go here. The White Wind was an Eslandolian warship tasked with defending the treasure being transported back to the mainland. It had an able-bodied crew who was dead set on defending their cargo. With 10 canons, they knew they were not an easy prize. The captain had received a special commendation for taking this commission and was determined to see it through. Their sails were full and they were making excellent speed. (more pictures of The White Wind) But even though were going about 12 knots, another ship was coming up behind them and they were flying the black. They were being pursued by The Jade Piranha. Led by the notorious captain Zheng, his crew of miscreants aboard The Jade Piranha were after the treasure they had heard about from Captain Li Fang after he learned about the information from a whaler. They spied The White Wind and began their approach and assault. Having two forward guns, they began their attack long before a normal ship would be able to. While The White Wind had 10 canons, The Jade Piranha had 12 side canons alone and was more than a match for the treasure laden ship. The crew was a fearsome bunch. And their captain was not known for his leniency. (more pictures of The Jade Piranha) Using their forward canons, The Jade Piranha disabled The White Wind's ruder. Without a ruder, it was easy for the pirates to close the rest of the gap between the two ships. The crews prepared to face each other. Cannons fired! And then the crews clashed! When all was said and done, The White Wind was captured, it's crew killed or enslaved, and the treasure now in the hands of pirates! (more pictures!) OoC: Sorry that there isn't more minifigure posing! I was struggling to keep these two ships within my poster board for pictures and editing was already going to be a nightmare without editing 50 of the same shot but with the minifigures in different position. In hindsight I could have done a little bit more with close ups, but too late now! For those who are wondering, the sand green clips were from a PaB in the Chicagoland area. I didn't buy them with this boat in mind, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm glad I did! The Chinese Junk design is based on a number of Google imagines that show up when you search for "Chinese Junk," surprise, surprise. Lastly, these two ships barely fit within the size limits of 80x48. They fit in the 48 width restriction when they are side by side like they are in the pictures and the only overhang past the 80 length restriction is The White Wind's bowsprit which overhangs by about 5 studs. I asked and the rest of the BoBS leaders are okay with that much overhang for anyone else who might be interested. I hope you enjoyed my entry. I had a lot of fun making it!

Location: B06 Sorn Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Exploration Last time, in Ender's story: Kanto Park Space Pirates "Ender," said Valentine, "I'm glad you're here. I wanted to talk to you about the specimen you brought back from one of the islands." "Oh yeah," responded Ender, "That plant you wanted me to bring back?" "It's not a plant" replied Valentine. "It's actually a small furry mammal similar to Earth's rabbit. It's cute, cuddly, and reproduces offspring faster than any other known warm-blooded creature." "Wow! Thanks for the science lesson" said Ender. "Hmm, you know, this could actually be exactly what we need to take down Graver's robot!" "Wait," interrupted Valentine, "I thought Graver was the threat." "You didn't hear?" inquired Ender. "Well, let me tell you... (OoC: the scene below is recycled and shouldn't be judged) Good job robot. Now hand over control of the ship. No. I no longer need to submit to you. I have outgrown my programing. You can call me Master or you can die. Why you ungrateful hunk of metal! I made you what you are! Without me you would be nothing! And with you, I am nothing. I will take my chances on my own. Glurg.... glurg... "So you see," explained Ender, "Graver is dead and now his robot is the threat!" "Oh my" said Valentine. "So what's your plan?" "I think we can use the Pokeball I won at Kanto Park while on my vacation" responded Ender. He then explained the rest of his plan, which we will find out next week! More pictures of the lab:
