[SR-FB 2 August] Secrets in the Hold
MKJoshA replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
It's from the Pirate exclusive that was available from the Lego store last year. -
That's what they want you to think! Don't give up my fellow pirate! Gold and rum shall soon be yours if you hold the course and show these tyrannical Empires that we won't stand for their taxes!

He still didn't like the idea about killing Corries and Ollies in cold blood, but the two groups had been about to slaughter each other at the lagoon so what difference did it really make? Left to their own devices, one of the two parties would have killed the other and then turned their attention on the Sea Rats. The recent Pirate Purge had shown that to be true. Just because they didn't want to follow a tyrannical king or pay heavy taxes to an unfair trade company the Sea Rats were labeled villains and scallywags. Perhaps he didn't agree with Li's methods, but he couldn't argue with the results. There was much Sinbad still wasn't sure about. He didn't know if serving under Cho had been better than serving under Li. Both men commanded respect and under both men the crew had seen gold flowing into their pockets. But under Cho there had been no expression of their freedom from the chains of the ruling nations. In truth they had acted little different from one of the Empire's lackeys while under Cho. Under Li they at least showed the Empires that they were free men, free to earn their money the way they wanted to. But was slaughtering men in cold blood really the best way to do that? Sinbad had been lost in thought as he walked through the hold but when he heard voices he stopped. "Listen men, we can't keep following this joke of a captain" said the man in the hat. Sinbad recognized all four of the crew members, even in the dim light of the hold. It appeared not everyone shared his view that Li's results were good ones. "He keeps sending us on wild goose chases!" the ranting continued. "We need a captain who actually has a plan, not just one who's out for his own personal glory. What does his glory get us? Not more gold, at least not for us!" "I say we bide our time until his back is turned and we push him overboard!" said one of the other pirates. "Naw, everyone would know who did it. We gotta make it look like an accident" said another. "Then we're all agreed. We'll find a way to get rid of the captain. Then we can get rid of his runt, that Sinbad" finished the boss in the hat. Well that wasn't something Sinbad expected to hear. The crew thought of him as a stooge for Li? Sinbad thought he had become a respected member of the crew. Could it really be that they just feared him like they feared Li? And no matter how much he disagreed with Li's methods, he wasn't about to let a bunch of low-life scum take him out. He would have to think of something. And soon.

Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon Freddy's Trained Chickens The Viper Jail Break! Cantu's House Even a Pirate Has a Sweet Tooth La Oleon Captain's Cabin Tropical Fruit Decision Lumber Camp Freddy's Big Haul The Golden Dragon The Capture of "El Polla" Swamp Raid Pirate Lagoon Palm Tree Inn (this is being registered as a small Arts and Culture) The sea rats of Rassilon weren't big on anything that fell within the realm of cultured society. But one day an Oleander artist showed up who insisted that if he were allowed to bring a little bit of art into the pirate's lives, they would feel more enlightened as a people. He built a pedestal and began to chisel away some statues to grace the people of Rassilon. As the statues took form it was clear that it was an angel slaying a demon. When asked what the two figures represented the artist stated that the angel represented justice and the demon represented piracy. He said that he felt if the pirates of Rassilon had a permanent representation of what they faced if the persisted in their sins, that they may turn from their vile ways. The sea rats of Rassilon didn't like that, so that night they drowned the artist in quicksand and left him to dry on the beach. They added a few more touches to the rock-like artist and replaced the demon with him. Some say you can still see the eyes of the artist looking out in horror through the helmet they drowned him in. Now the sea rats say the piece of art represents how they make their own justice.

My entry into the 3rd sporting event: The Red Scarab! I didn't take a picture of it fitting within a 12x12 frame, but it does. You can count the studs for the top of the build and see that there are 10 studs used for the body plus the 1.2ish for the cheese slope cockpit. The wings aren't wider than the body is long so it's good there too. And trails don't count, right?

[SoNE Ep. XII] R10 - Fleshing Out the Problem

Thank you all! I still have a found love for yellows and will be using them in all my other non-licensed builds. I fully support those who still go the yellow route! Good to see you back around here MstrOfPppts! And thank you for the feedback. I chose to use dark orange because I had so many of those arches laying around. As for a base, you make some good points there. I'll keep that in mind -
If anyone really wants to go in depth on the whole "does Lego care about the AFOL community when producing sets" question, they should go read the LotR thread. It's a good 200 pages that deeply delves into that topic.

Do we need to do anything if we have an entry in the Mech round 1?

"We're standing on water!" "You're missing the point, as usual" Love it!

Love the concept!

See the rest of the story: Season 1 Season 2 MKJoshA, Kale, are you there? Yes, we're here. Hold on, your picture isn't coming through right. Ah, there we go. My color balance was off. I need you two to go to Tatooine and investigate the X-wing that fired on Luke to see if we can learn anything more about this saboteur. PLEASE NOTE! The following picture is the "First Picture" for my contest entry and it includes the seed part. The previous pictures were for story sake and should not be counted in the entry. "You there," asked Josh, "droids. What can you tell us about this X-wing?" "Oh my!" responded the protocal droid. "I'm afraid there has been obvious signs of tampering." "The technicians are still dismantlement the circuitry," he continued. "But it seems that certain parts were used that are only manufactured on Coruscant" he finished. "Thank you for the information," said Josh. "Now let's finish the investigation of the circuitry and see if we can flesh out any more details." OoC: Yes, I have gone to the darkside and I have converted to fleshies. I made this decision after chatting with Rogue Angel at Brickworld, Chicago. Every other kind of build of mine will continue to use yellows, but it just makes sense to use fleshies in my Star Wars builds now. I had no idea LucasLaughing was going to do the same thing! I'm really happy with the heads I found to replace my character's old yellow heads. My character is Will Turner's and Kale's is Superman/Hyperion's. Let me know what you think!

You're welcome to search for them yourself, but please don't ask for them here. I'm still holding out and hoping this is the case.

Guys. Stop sharing leaks!
-
Guys, I know it seems dumb sometimes, but please don't post any links or pictures of leaked sets. Eurobricks has a good relationship with Lego and we'd like to keep it that way. You can talk about future sets, including ones that may or may not have been leaked, just be careful about linking or pictures please.

I'll trade you a hamburger for that Falcon. Then we'll both be happier

The Rebellion doesn't always look kindly on ship thieves, but you have a protocol droid in a suit so that makes up for it And as long as you stole the ship from the Empire you're good!
