We strongly suggest you refrain from criticizing sets on the basis of what you imagine they're going to look like. Wait till we have pictures before you start complaining. And even then, think twice about it If you post news in this thread, it will not be transferred over to the 2023 News thread. Be smart, think about what you are posting and in what thread you are posting. This IS your warning! If you have substantiated news, you can post it in the 2023 News thread. If your news is not able to be substantiated your post will be removed. If you choose to post fabricated information; you can expect to be banned. It's not worth the fifteen minutes of internet fame. Do not post watermarked or confidential images; they will be removed and the poster will be dealt with appropriately. With regards to movies or shows: We feel that two weeks from the release date is an ample amount of time for most people to view a movie. If you do not see the movie or episode within two weeks, then you read here at your own risk. This is the policy in the Star Wars forum, going forward. If you did not agree with us in the past, so be it. From this point on, we will not police the threads unless something becomes an issue. We ask that members not mini-mod (directly telling other members how to behave ) in the thread and tell others to use spoiler tags. If something is a problem, please inform the mods by reporting it. There are lots of instances where we've allowed discussion about other brands and their compatibility with Lego. The key to that is the word "compatibility." Those kinds of discussions happen in the relevant forums and we don't need 1 topic about it. We're not here to talk about out right replacing Lego with other brands. That discussion has a home, just not on a forum dedicated to talking about Lego

To each his own on using other brands. I'm 99% purist myself. Which means even I have a couple things that aren't Lego official. You can certainly talk about the use of other brands as long as you're not promoting something illegal like a stolen MOC being sold by other brands. Some of them comments in this thread have just started to shift from that kind of discussion to being more off topic. If you think you may be at fault and would like a specific example send me a PM. No one is in trouble here so I'm not going to call out any one comment, but we do need to keep things on topic. Which is parts that Lego produces that are available to buy on their website.

You have a lot of comments that contribute greatly to the conversation, so don't misunderstand what I'm saying. But we've heard a number of time about how you're happy with other brands. As this is a forum to talk about LEGO let's keep the conversation on topic.

Story-wise they can start anywhere. But your MOCs will only score points if they're posted in areas your team controls or has access to.

I lived near the Equator for 5 years. We still celebrated Christmas with a small Christmas tree and listened to "White Christmas." There was never going to be a White Christmas. But we sang it anyway. I opened presents in shorts and sandals. Did I resent other parts of the world for getting the cozy, idyllic Christmas when I didn't? No. Now you may be more resentful than me. You may want warm climate representation with your Christmas stuff. Or you may want only cold climate representation. Either way Lego has reasons for making both. Either enjoy it or don't buy it. But it's silly to attack your fellow human being over it. So let's get back on target.

Wow. I placed an order this morning and got one. Had no idea they would sell out so fast! I assumed I'd be able to get another one when I buy the castle later this week.

There are one or two exceptions I think. But for the most part all new 2022 parts and recolors have not shown up on the site yet. They took down all the 2022 pieces that had existed during the Jan and Feb interim.

I wouldn't give up. We had a wide range of winners from long-term builders to new ones. I'd say just keep building and learning! For storytelling it's not about writing a description, it's about whether your build tells a story through the Lego and draws you into it. One thing you can do to add story is include battle damage or a variant paint job. Those kinds of details draw the viewer into your MOC and make them want to know more.

Your K-Wing did well finishing 6th place in the Fighter category. It was just up against a lot of stiff competition! It scored the lowest in Storytelling. That was a tough metric for most builders this competition. Your K-Wing was beautiful, but it didn't tell much of a story.

Placed my first B&P order since the "improvements." Got my bestseller parts in 2 days shipped in the same box as a small set I ordered. The other parts haven't the warehouse of course, but that seemed insanely fast for bestseller parts to get to me.
