  1. Nice idea. Considering the build, my two main comments would be (1) as suggested before: make the well round and add a small roof, (2) the area under the ground is a pretty big hollow space. I was expecting more of a narrow 'shaft' under the well before the pirates' 'treasure room'.
  2. Irrespective of the size of the container that hold the water, I guess you would need a pretty accurate measuring device to measure the increase in volume due to the Lego element and especially differences in volume between the contestants for smallest Lego element.
  3. I like all the glass on the bottom floor. However, I think it should be higher, considering its width. Also the black and white could use some breaking up by means of other colors here and there. Do you plan on making an interior for it?
  4. I guess it depends on how you define big and small: dimensions or volume. Anyway: a coin (used for example in Pirates) is smaller than a 1 x 1 tile or round brick, but then again it comes on a sprue of four. As to the biggest: The ship hull in the latest City Harbor (7994) is pretty big.
  5. This is a good example of one of the great things about the classic castle theme. I never knew TLG was so 'neutral' back then. I don't remember ever seeing this info in a Dutch catalog.
  6. That indeed was an interesting piece of info. Too bad there likely aren't any pictures of this alternative/preliminary design. I'd really like to see more pictures of preliminary set designs. I know there's a thread with those pictures here on EB, but ... I want more
  7. Looks like a nice city (as opposed to a highway) truck. The cab could even be lowered further, like on the new firetruck and the city bus.
  8. <nit-picking>... and one of the 'NG' quotes is blue instead of red </nit-picking>. Other than that: nice interview, not as 'revealing' about the insides of TLG as the Jamie Berard interview, but still a nice read.
  9. Funny entry... the true nature of redcoat wives shows again Oh, and nice lighting effects on the photos by the way.
  10. Looks great. I really like that the tavern has a basement and a full nicely detailed interior. And then the landscaping: that's no surprise from you, but still excellent! I like the canon defense up on the rock.

6382 also has a woman, but it is suggested in both these sets that they have some sort of administrative job. But then again, back in the days there was no way to indicate whether a minifig was male or female, besides through the haircut. And since hair pieces and helmets are still incompatible, we never know how many female fire- and policemen there were in 1980s Town.

There's been this Shell promo set.
  13. Judging from the style of this message, this is the official press release by TLG.
  14. Did you use more Imperial Soldiers, Guards, or Armada to protect the classic-pirates.com server?
  15. Thanks for the informative tutorial. I'm afraid I might be needing this in the near future.
  16. Ah, didn't check the site itself. My signature pics are hosted on BS though, so deeplinks are working again...
  17. Nice island. I really like the 'curves' on the fort.
  18. Nice update indeed. You had a highly original idea, and now you have the quality of the build to go along with it.
  19. Nice series you've created! So this is the value pack? Glad I didn't buy any of the individual sets yet...
  20. Happy B-day Jamie
  21. It appears to be back up again...
  22. Nice idea, really clever build.
  23. I'm afraid this was (one of) the last outage(s) Brickshelf can handle. I should really start to look into flickr.
  24. Nice, simple (in a good way) wagon. I just don't like the sticker-across-multiple-pieces.
  25. I said it before: you're on a roll. I really like your official set-like designs. The textured red stripe on the wagon is a nice detail.
