Yeah, didn't you see from the outside of the box there was a piece missing?
As a kid, I once had a mismolded piece and we went back to the store. They took care of sending it back to TLG and I remember getting send a new piece to my house. The store should have been informed about Lego Customer Service and at least refer you to it.
I agree on the comment about the nice interior. The exterior could do with some detailing though. Perhaps a door on the side of the ambulance? Also a few little color accents here and there could break up the white and blue.
Nice! It looks really accurate. Can a minifig (in the top half) fully sit in the bus or doesn't the arm on the outside of the bus fit then? I.e., is the side of the bus (behind the sticker) built with bricks and plates or maybe SNOT panels?
Yes
I really like the design of that vehicle that comes with the Fire Station. I also like the police rendition of it with a 1 stud longer front.
I don't really like the clips with equipment on the official Lego vehicles, so I'd suggest removing them and replacing them with regular white (instead of black) bricks, but that's a matter of taste.
Really nice color scheme change, I especially like the ground floor. I personally think the white above the first floor windows is a bit too bright within this color scheme.
It was known that this - along with the service station - basic set would come out, but I can't ever recall a set being in stores before even seeing a picture on the internet...
Nice, the fort is turning out pretty big and the light tower is simple but effective. On the Islander side I especially like how you're integrating the printed baseplates with the rest of the layout. Looking forward to more.
Here in the Netherlands they sell them for a limited time, but typically immediately at a 'discount'. For example, discounted from €35 for €25 or even €20. The low price is possible because of the large pieces (typically), while it is a 'large' set. These sets also typically get set numbers outside the regular City range.
I really like the half torn down house design.
One challenge: turn it into a playset and make it "shootable", so that after a heavy canon battle, this is what's left of the house.
I really like the modulars setup with those narrow streets and the park in the center a lot. It has a nice old downtown feel to it. I also like your stadium modules.
I also never buy these 8-wide sets. The only thing the big firetruck might be useful for to me is parts, but that heavily depends on the parts list and the price of course.
