  1. Remember the days when LEGO sets used to have alternative models on the back of the box? Were you one of those kids who spent ages trying to rebuild them with the pieces in the box? A couple of weeks ago, TLG challenged a select group of some of the best builders on Eurobricks and Rebrickable by sending them a random LEGO City set and asking them to create alternative models for them. The deadline for submitting models to TLG was September 30 and most of the creations in the LEGO Alternate Models Challenge have now been posted in the Town forum. Check out all the alternative models that have been posted in the Alternate Models Challenge index.
  2. Alternate Models Challenge Eurobricks and Rebrickable were challenged by LEGO® to make alternate models for current year city sets. The builds had to only use the pieces in available in the official LEGO model, be made in LDD, digitized, tested in real brick and be a model a 7-10 year old could build. Check out multiple alternative models for the following sets: 60003 Fire Emergency by I Scream Clone, plastic_ati and LegoJalex 60004 Fire Station by moctown 60033 Arctic Ice Crawler by BEAVeR and Si-MOCs 60035 Arctic Outpost by ZCerberus, PixelFox and Tomik 60044 Mobile Police Unit by Peteris_Sprogis, msx80 and Ricecracker 60046 Helicopter Surveillance by Cara and Brickterscale 60047 Police Station by Peteris_Sprogis and Commander Red Hat 60054 Light Repair Truck by Legonardo and Yatkuu 60056 Tow Truck by Bob de Quatre and Simon_S 60061 Airport Fire Truck by Cecilie and Nequmodiva
  3. Because we prefer not to pin too many threads, but rather link to them in the main Town index: Main Street.
  4. cimddwc has modularised his copy of the Simpsons House. However, he didn't just shrink the width to 32 studs, but gave it a real twist. Check out Matt's Masks in the Town forum.
  5. Jamie Berard included the dark blue arch from Cafe Corner and Market Street, which was one of the very rare and expensive parts in those sets until then, in last year's Winter Village set, so anything is possible. The same goes for the dark red slopes from Cafe Corner that made an appearance in Pet Shop.
  6. Welcome to Eurobricks. As this forum is only visible to new members, you may want to consider posting an introduction in the "Hello, my name is..." forum.
  7. People have their reasons for not liking it and those reasons are not any more or less valid than your reasons for liking it. But, indeed, as Off the Wall has already said, it's been discussed many times in various threads, so let's not repeat the same arguments again. Off the Wall, if you want, you can always send peter_m a PM with a link to one of your posts where you explain why you don't like it.
  8. I doubt it, as it seems to be the replacement for Castle next year. Even the set numbering is in the same range as this year's Castle line. They skipped set numbers 70405-70408 so far though, so maybe there are Castle and/or Pirates sets we haven't seen yet.
  9. No, I didn't read it anywhere. It was a combination of the roof, the small delivery van and the stored furniture inside that got me thinking. However, I just check the S@H info for this set and they confirm it's supposed to be a factory.
  10. As I said before, I don't see the point of discussing news in one place (we have theme-specific discussion threads for that). I don't see what's gotten out of hand and what there is to discuss regarding people's reaction to the news, so I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.
  11. I think the second build is supposed to be a furniture factory.
  12. We have discussion threads for the individual themes in the various theme forums for exactly that purpose. So, unless this is not what you're suggesting, I'm going to lock this thread and refer everyone to the respective discussion threads.
  13. Almost all of your posts on Eurobricks contain a link to your personal website. We'd love you to contribute your thoughts about Architecture sets to Eurobricks discussions, but please make them more substantive than a teaser picture and a link to your site, as that could easily be interpreted as using EB as an advertising medium for your own site, which we do not allow. Since you've also posted the exact same picture in the Architecture Discussion thread, I'm going to lock this topic.
  14. I've moved this to the Town forum. We decided to move discussion and reviews of the CREATOR Houses line. Since the inclusion of minifigures in these sets, they seem to be replacing residential City buildings more and more.
  15. As these are non-LEGO figures, I have moved this thread to the Community forum.
  16. The rumoured new 2015 sets can be discussed in the respective discussion and news threads. Please do not embed images marked as preliminary/confidential (here or in those threads). Thank you.
  17. Licensed Regulator and Reviewers Academy Teacher Clone O'Patra reviews the latest Shell promotional sets which are currently available at petrol stations in Singapore. Check out the review in the Licensed Themes forum and stay tuned for the review of the other sets in this series.
  18. Speculation about the countdown can go in this thread in General.
  19. It's why they're discussed in the Town forum. They probably also appeal to both boys and girls, so it makes sense to not release sets like these in the City theme (with Friends targeted at girls and City more at boys).
  20. Welcome to EB, Steven. Feel free to write an introduction in the "Hello, my name is..." forum, as this forum is only visible to new members and staff.

  22. There isn't a lot of wiggle. The construction cleverly uses 1 x 2 log bricks and 1 x 1 round bricks to create a snug fit. Why don't you download the building instructions at LEGO.com and build the construction around the door yourself?
  23. The information seems to come from Spielwaren Werst. I see no mention there of the "Top Gear" brand with these sets. I'm merging this with the "Super Champions" thread in the Special Themes forum for now.
