  1. Day Six: 1. The Big Fat Pill Pandoo 2. Red Devils 3. Sponk 4. Peach Cobbler Draxia 5. Downers Shadows 6. Bug Dust 7. DMT
  2. Interesting that you should suspect Manuel for being quiet, and yet trust Rickety, who by my count has spoken fewer times than Manuel (and Ali Perry, for that matter). But in my book, this probably exonerates them. God told me, a long time ago and in a different life, that scum prefer the Middle Way. Hiding in plain sight, speaking enough to seem useful without actually saying anything useful. Sound familiar? This is my favourite: So what you're saying is: Sunny could be Town, or she could be Scum. No wait! Heng could be Scum, or he could be Town. Genius!
  3. This is my point. If you really are town, then help the town! Whom do you trust? Tell them your suspicions! Any piece of information could be useful. Sitting back and saying, 'I've no idea' makes you either scum or a useless townie, and useless townies help the scum. When did you suspect Janie and Imes? After I accused them? If it was before, then why on earth didn't you say anything? I was having doubts about whether we were doing the right thing today, but what you've said today has convinced me we are. Vote: Bethany Bovary (Brickdoctor)
  4. Lovely greenies! According to Flickr, I'm in there ... But I don't know which one's me. I hope I'm not the one 'going with the flow'
  5. That wasn't my point. My point was why the Paint Thinner, and not any of the other meds that people rush to grab? Meds that you've never taken, so how would you know it's the Paint Thinner which is the important one? Janie did exactly the same thing. She unvoted Heng and voted Sunny when the votes were tied at 5 each. You voted Sunny when the votes were tied at 7 each, and you waited till then to vote. It was important for the scum to upset the balance in favour of lynching Sunny, so that the Town bandwagoners would follow the largest vote. There are only nine of us left. You must have given this some thought, unless you know exactly who the scum are.
  6. Ok. Nailing the last (we hope) two scum will be difficult, but we do have the benefit of the process of elimination. To help us here, I'm going to hark back to the early days of this Asylum nightmare ... those heady days when many of us foolishly trusted that malingering Heng. Early on, I was involved in a conversation with Stanley and Heng. During this time (it was Day 2), Heng said this: Knowing what we know now, that last sentence has haunted me through the last few days. It's obvious to anyone who has followed closely that certain people have been choosing useless meds, or meds with actions that don't adversely affect people. What better way to avoid detection, or to avoid people wondering why you've survived when you have an important med? And we've seen the ease with which we've caught two scum because they didn't follow this plan. Analysing this pattern does cast light on certain inmates here. Now consider this: on day one, the townies had no idea which other inmates were also town. One person shouts a lot, and a vote is cast. This lynchee reveals he has the Watcher med. What would the town do at that point? Realising the potential importance of this med, they would wait to see what other information would come up. What would the scum do? Jump in straight away to fuel the bandwagon, knowing that this person wasn't scum. One particular person voted immediately after the watcher information was revealed. I called them out on this; they later replied that they hadn't seen the Watcher revelation. That is possible; four minutes had passed between the revelation and the vote. I told Heng of my suspicion. Shortly after this, Heng decided to use his Powdered Rhino Horn action on this person, and, a lot later, this person defended themselves against my finger-pointing, probably somewhat unnecessarily. On its own, this probably doesn't mean much. Let's move forward to day two. This person jumps on the Blue Bennies - the meds which Kelly had implied had an important action - at the earliest opportunity. Later that day, they incurred a penalty vote for not being flattering enough, and Heng pops up to warn them of this in thread. Ostensibly this is to prevent the Lumpy lynch being derailed, but it also makes Heng look Town, and prevents an accidental scum lynch, whilst distancing Heng from this person. Day 3 is the most important day - the only day where we can get any information from the vote. Heng is up against Sunny. A lot of people aren't sure, and prevaricate. One person sits firmly on the fence ... ... right up to the point that Manuel double-votes for Heng. They know about the double vote, because they had the Bug Dust the day before, and Manuel's vote brings the vote tallies level. When we couple this with a veiled attempt at defending Imes yesterday, and the death last night of the person who pointed the finger at Dr Bethany Bovary, I think there is a case to answer. Some more points: Having rushed to grab the Blue Bennies on day two, Bethany shows no interest in the meds until the Paint Thinner becomes a focus. Moreover, she reveals twice on day three that the Blue Bennies do nothing. What about keeping things secret? And about the Paint Thinner: What is so great about the Paint Thinner? And not about the several other meds that people rush to grab at the start of the day? This is the scum game-plan: once they had identified a few useless meds over the first two days, they hide behind useless meds for the rest of the game, for the simple reason that - as Heng pointed out right at the start - it would be easy to spot them doing the opposite, as it was with Janie and Imes. Bethany, do you have anything to say for yourself?
  7. Let's hope so. The last thing we need is another killer on the loose. We've had a good run with catching scum, but the last (hopefully) two will be harder to catch. And I'm a bit worried that Pelly seems to have picked up Imes's bomb trigger, if the close of yesterday is anything to go by

  9. Not bad! A little stubby perhaps, and that 2x3 plate on the top looks like an illegal attachment, but I like how you've done the cockpit otherwise. This should be in Special Themes though, so I'll move it

  11. Stanley! You worked so hard for the Town. We will avenge you! We were right about Janie. Let's hope we can catch another scum today. Day Six: 1. The Big Fat Pill 2. Black Beauties 3. Red Devils 4. Horse Tranquilizers 5. Saline Infusion 6. Sponk 7. Peach Cobbler 8. Downers Pandoo 9. Bug Dust 10. Uppers 11. DMT 12. Nasal Inhaler Apologies. Day Six: 1. The Big Fat Pill 2. 12. Boo may or may not be scum, but I think we have some harder evidence to go on - thanks to two useful pieces of information, the situation here in the Asylum is at last becoming clearer. When people started to deflect the accusations against Heng on days three and four with talk about voting for Pelly, or there being no scum in the Asylum, one thing stood out to me as evidence of scum activity: the redirection action. We have heard that this was used on night one to push Shalonda's action towards Zed, which in itself is not necessarily a scum move: unfortunately, in these situations Shalonda is frequently a target for such actions on night one, whether Shalonda is scum or town. However, the redirection action on night two is a scum move: thanks to Boo Cameron, we all knew that the white crystals which Pearl had taken were a kill investigator action, and we heard from Pearl herself, now proved Town, that she was redirected onto Boo, who of course had no ability to kill (on that night, at least). The wielder of this redirection action will undoubtedly claim that they were suspicious of Boo, and hence used the redirection to test them. In this case, however, why not redirect the arguably more powerful Tracker action, which was also known publicly at the time? The answer to this is Heng. It was publicly known that Heng had the Magic Beans, and several people already knew that the Beans were an investigation action. Therefore, if Heng were targeted by the tracker action, and found to be targeting Tammo the night he was killed, he could tell what may well be the truth - that he investigated Tammo. If, however, he was targeted by the Kill Investigator that night, it would be a disaster: because Heng did indeed have the ability to kill - with a gun that was invented and given to him on night one by the same person who redirected the kill investigator on night two. This person is Janie Beeswax. My suspicion of Janie was first aroused when she grabbed the Paint Thinner on day 3 at the first opportunity. Later that day, she voted Heng early on in the proceedings, before there was an alternative; then, when votes started to pick up against Sunny she changed her vote to Sunny when the votes were tied at 5 each, swinging the balance back in Heng's favour. Janie, of course, had the Paint Thinner again on night three. I believe she gave another gun to a scum teammate that night, who went on to kill Sassy last night. This is why there was no 'vigilante' action on night one - because there is a day's delay between 'inventing' the gun and it being used to kill. Vote: Janie Beeswax (JimButcher)
  13. Two more townies gone! A mouthful of peach hasn't made me any less angry. Good riddance, Heng. We'll get your evil gang

  23. There was a double vote day two, but not on day one, so it can't be me.
  24. Hmm. Apologies for repeating what's been said; I have been mulling this over for hours. Heng admits investigating Tammo the night he was killed, as seen by Scally. He had the Downers (confirmed thief action) and the Magic Beans (confirmed Investigator action). There is no way therefore that he could have killed Tammo unless (a) he's scum and they have some way to swap actions, or (b) the Magic Beans have an unfortunate side-effect, which surely would have happened also to Heng. Everything Heng says could be true; his conviction hinges around the reported investigation result. We only have Sunny's word for it that Bell found Heng to be 'not Town'. How easy would it be to tamper with this 'evidence'? I'm also surprised that there wasn't more to this statement from Bell; I'd have had a barrelful of questions raised by this finding. Perhaps there was; only Sunny knows for sure. There's an awful lot riding on that word 'not' there. But would anyone dare to lie aabout this? How could Sunny be sure Bell hadn't told anyone else about this? Sunny's accusation has been sloppy and careless. Yet, is this the work of a scum, who has a whole team with whom to strategise, or a townie frantically piecing together fragments of information? Here I'm inclined to agree with Heng - if Sunny is scum, she's the worst scum ever. I'm just not sure she is scum - I find it really hard to believe a scum would come out with these accusations, relatively early in the game, whilst under no pressure herself. Vote: Heng Lewley (Hinckley)
  25. I've been following this, and it certainly looks bad for Heng. There isn't really any other explanation for the two Magic Beans results, unless you believe the possibility of a Framer action. I'm still not sure I trust Sunny, either though... or indeed anyone, except the other half of my brain. So, following a long discussion with myself, and since the Downer action has been revealed, I (and I) have little choice but to do this. Yes, the Downers allow the user to steal other people's medicines. The question is, which should I steal? It strikes me that the choice could be pivotal in deciding who the scum are. Say we were able to steal a pill and find that it is the vigilante action. That would implicate everyone who has used the pill: they must all be scum, or they would have said something. I have a good idea of what many, but not all, of the meds do; between us all we all know what they all do. So I'm asking everyone, which should I steal? Answers on a Postcard Message, please, addressed to Pandufus Randora and Randora Pandufus. You might wonder why I should be trusted. Only the scum, and possibly one other, know for a fact that I am Town, but it's quite likely I'll die tonight anyway, so you'll all find out in the long run that I have no reason to lie; any information I gain from this you can use in any way you wish.
