Hopefully the yellow thingy is as recognisable and universal for everyone as it is in the UK!
-
Congratulations to the winners, and indeed to all the superb entries of this fantastic contest. Some real stunners here!
-
Well, that means we can remove all the blue-armed staff from the list of suspects.
-
Just thinking back over Dr Bloodbrick's photographs of the scene, Martin's briefcase was found open and empty at the scene. I guess we'll never know what was in it.
-
... still waiting ... Martin's briefcase was still around in the morning. Maybe the staff knows something about it?
-
Ok. That pees on the fire a little, but I'll stand by my vote for now.

Jesus, do you know for sure that it didn't work on Shadows because he was not insane, or could it have been because King of Delaware is indeed sinister? Did it just not work, or did you learn why it didn't work? This could be further prrrroof against the King. For now, vote: King of Delaware/KingoftheZempk

Thrree people gone and none of them sinister. I stand by my vote for Shadows: he was not one of us, but to lose an Investigator at this stage is troubling. Why did Martin reveal himself? At least Sparky, too, was up to his own thing, but his death is troubling: was it the work of a vigilante, in which case why? Did he self-destruct? Or could it be that the Sinister have two killers? But the different MO would suggest not. I do not think it is helpful just to go against the quiet ones, as Bear suggests. My lupine intuition suggests that is what the Sinister would do; misdirection is their tool. Just what is the night action Bear was able to do last night, that he couldn't the night before? Is it possibly related to these deaths?

To add to what Eskallon has said: Our football team was very successful in the last years. => I'd use HAS BEEN instead of WAS. (Be careful: Here the writer was just obliged to write a meaningful sentence with "successful", so there is no specific context that would connect the sentence with the past.) This depends on the meaning. As Eskallon said, it needs 'in the last few years', but: 'Our football team was very successful in the last few years' suggests they are not successful now; 'Our football team has been very successful in the last few years' suggests they weren't successful before. Both are correct. When I'm long abroad, I am often homesick. => I'd say: When I'm abroad a long time, ... What you say is more modern; the original is perfectly correct but sounds old-fashioned. He puts his old clothes in front of the window. (That's from the plot of a play. Actually he puts his old clothes on the ground of the garden of his girlfriend. She is in the house on the first floor (UK first floor) and sees what he is doing through the window.) => Is it ok to use IN FRONT OF here? If not, is there a better version without changing the original sentence too much? This depends on the context. From what you say, 'He puts his old clothes in view of the window' might be better. Please excuse my friend and his misplaced apostrophes!

Lovely, comprehensive review, Masked B! I actually think this ship has a great design. It's been on my shortlist for a while, even though it's CW. And who could baulk at the chance to get a wonderful Shaak Ti figure. Not so sure about Saesee. Move over Anakin - he's well on the way to being the ugliest CW fig!

Ah! Finally I get what you mean. You're talking about this: versus this: I think that changed at the beginning of 2010; it appeared in the new ARC-170 amongst other sets. Personally, I never had a problem with the old ones, but I guess they might become fragile in young hands.

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful, ISC. All those dark bley slopes on the volcano must have taken ages, and as many have said, the lava flow is a masterpiece. Shame the islanders have to run away in a panic. You'd have think they might have chosen their island of residence more carefully! Or at least seen this coming ...

VOTING THREAD: The best LEGO sailing ships (minifig illusion scale)
Rufus replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
This was incredibly difficult - so many to choose from, and most requiring a detailed look. All are absolutely wonderful, inspiring MOCs - I love these amazing Lego ships. 1 point each: 3. Le Requin 6. La Mort Royale 8. HMS Prince of Wales 9. Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion 11. Le Sang Royale 15. Vesta 18. Achille -
*sigh* When packaging was interesting. Those were the days! Thanks for a super retro review, Z06! This looks like a fun playset, with lots of exciting little features. The colour scheme is a little dull, though - if it weren't for the huge green baseplate it would look very nondescript.
-
I see no spelling mistake in the picture: armour is quite correct! Nice picture - you've got the depth of field knack - but it's not really as funny as some of your others. Sorry!
-
This set looks to be a classic! I love all the little details - the gold ingots/credit card, the green money cases, that superb safe door, and a new motorbike. There seem to be some nice new pieces (or at least colours) too! It's also nice to see Lego do a good job of an estate car! I think it'll fit quite nicely with the new 'mini-modular' range (City Corner, Family Home, Construction Site). Super, crystal clear images Mifody!

All this new information is making my wolf-brain hurt. Jesus, you talk a lot, and little of what you say makes sense. However, I don't believe you would make up the Switcher rrrrole - you'd have to be a complete nutter. So I'm going to trust you. Martin, your alien antics are bizarre, but an investigator is useful. Shadows - independent or sinister, you are not one of us. So, until more information comes along, I will vote: Kevin 'Shadows' Mitchell. Arrrr-oooo!
-
Woah, I have a little snooze and look what has happened! This place is fast becoming a madhouse. Oh, wait... People seem pretty surrre about Shadows, but I shall wait for more information from Martin Century before deciding on a vote.
-
Well this might break the rule of 'single pane', but I couldn't resist How Obi-Wan got the idea ... Sorry for the large picture.

Cheers for the further replies and feedback! Do let us know if you are satisfied! Cheers, Dr. D! I totally agree that Creator is a gem. The more intricate and realistic the sets become, the more they will appeal to the fans of the original UCS ideal, which is after all what got me back from the dark age. I know what you mean. The jet is definitely a 'keeper'! Glad to hear it! Don't think!! Act!!! Hmmm. Just what I thought??? How nicely you put that! No problem with the camera, just the photographer - I'm no expert. The problem is indoor lighting - even with the correct colour balance, everything comes out yellowish; when the colour cast is adjusted it tends to make the red look orangey in places. I doesn't seem to affect any other colours. I have tried many different lighting setups; the one I have settled on is by no means perfect, but the best compromise. Thanks for the constructive criticism though, always appreciated! Yup, the minifigs fitting in seems to be a big winner! Cheers all

Lupo mourns the loss of poorrr Biggy Cameron. I fearrr he may have died in vain. I wonder: did those who thought the lynching of Cam would be most enlightening, learrn anything? Lupo did not. Grrrr. Rreally? My lupine memory recalls that you and a member of Monkey voted for him.

I always forget I can do that.

My, there has been a title-fest lately! Fabulastic Rufus Rabbit - after I paraded my new namesake figure in this thread. Fangy???

Some great stuff - keep 'em coming! I made a couple more: And this one, not so funny, but ... I don't really have six K3POs. Bit of 'shopping there!
