  1. What I said it that anything can be rationalised using Finn's analysis. I doesn't invalidate all that we're trying to do here. You misunderstand me. I was merely stating that I would be nearby and ready to act if acting was required, as opposed to others who were sleeping, away or otherwise engaged.
  2. No, I only spent the last sentence of the paragraph doing that. The rest of the paragraph is true regardless of my 'inside' knowledge. The point in this case was actually not telling Petr that I would change my mind if he came up with a solid defense (which would still have been true), but rather tell the rest of you that I would be around to change my vote if something came up and the consensus shifted.
  3. Of course that you can group votes in any number of ways that will allow you to make me lead a group if it suits you to. You look at figures on a piece of paper but fail to take into account the randomness of life -- I have switched votes when I did because the day was getting late and that it was a convenient moment around my daily activities when I had the time to do so. I maintain that this sort of mathematical analysis on voting patterns is hit-and-miss, because mafia is not a simple system where every parameter is well defined. You can cook up an analysis to prove mostly anything, true or false. In this case, you come to the conclusion that I'm suspect because I have led a turnaround in votes (which was fortuitous, and meaningless if others I wasn't in contact with before and after me hadn't done the same). I am well aware that your main conclusion (i.e. Gofraid is your top scum) is faulty, therefore I propose that the whole thing is meaningless -- no offence meant. By the way, I read Dagstyrr's quick-fire vote switch in a totally different way. What was the point of casting a minority vote that late in the day, only to change it minutes later for Petr? I know myself and others have asked non-voters to get off their butts and speak their minds, but this looked to me like an attempt to disguise simple bandwagonning. Many things could have changed my mind -- another more scummy target, a better explanation from Petr, a claim... I was still thinking that Kolgrima was the more suspicious one and I would have maintained my vote for her had more supported the idea. But as it was my vote was useless and we were in danger of not lynching. And yes, I only consider Sigrid and Wilhalm as fall-back options and not very appealing lynches. They may be scum, but their behaviour doesn't strike me as such. You're splitting hair. Let's say that my conviction in that instance was not so strong, as opposed to other votes where I would be quite confident that the lynchee is scum.
  4. I'm only trying to warn people about blindly following one theory. On the average lynch is better than no-lynch for scum on Day One, but not if that involves a suspicious last-minute ditch to pile votes on an innocent Einherjar. In that case, playing safe and letting town choose whether they want information from a lynch or not is in my opinion a better option. I'm sorry, but I'm starting to get worried about you guys. Especially Dufa. I'm used to more subtle analysis from you, but for the last two days you're only going for the inactive Vikings without even bothering about some rationale about what makes them scummier than the rest of us. This is not you, and I'm starting to wonder whether you're deliberately trying to shift the day's focus to random low profile targets. Uh, take care about suggesting vig targets, you know it's not really a town tell. You're not doing much better than Dufa, though your explanation is a bit more convincing. So does Sigrid, unless you can convince me otherwise. How is it different in Wilhalm's case? Would his lynch be more informative if he turns town?
  5. Why do you think my placing a vote on Kolgrima was safe? It was early enough in the day to rally other voters if they also thought Kolgrima was acting dodgily, and the case was in my opinion more solid than the evidence against Mist or Sigrid. Also at that time Petr wasn't a thing yet, as he hadn't come up with his plan to trap scum. You are looking at your tables, but I'm not sure you double-checked the chronology of events. Also don't dismiss tangent accusations as a scummy tactic. There was no point for scum to shift the focus unless one of the accused was also scum, and unless Sigrid is scum the Servants of Loki were confortably watching us choosing a lynchee between a number of innocent Einherjar. I still don't think that Sigrid is scum because a scum team wouldn't have allowed such lackadaisical play, but that's again my opinion. A townie's role is also to shift gears and point out other potential targets when they think that we're on the wrong track. And I don't fully agree with the idea that scum must have bandwagoned to push Petr's lynch. It was Day One, and scum didn't need a lynch. Must I remind you that not lynching on day One is rather bad for town as we waste a precious source of information when we need it the most. Had I been scum, I would have advised my teammates to keep their cool and let town decide how the day would end. A last-minute rush to complete the lynch would have been scrutinised the next day (as it is now), and the risks outweigh the benefits. I'm much more wary of the non-voters, the back-benchers, those who didn't look too eager to get things done or didn't care about the day's outcome. Do you want names? So do I, but I will need to review the events before I draw up a list.
  6. A day action is a possibility, but if so why Tumi? By day action, are you thinking Einherjar or Servant of Loki? Given that it looks like Petr himself attacked Tumi, and that he suspected his victim, I'm leaning towards a Vengeful action myself.
  7. Petr might well have decided to test his hypothesis: In which case he was probably town, and as for Tumi it's difficult to say.
  8. Wait... how did that happen? Tumi's dead, was Petr a vengeful spirit? Tumi didn't even vote for Petr. Or have we just witnessed a Loki scum day action?
  9. I'm not buying all of Petr's conclusions, but at least he's present and attempting to explain himself. I'm certainly not sure about my vote, and what is most annoying now is that we don't have a lynch -- unless I'm mistaken. There are still some non-voters among us, which is hardly acceptable in a situation such as this one.
  10. I agree with Mursi here. Between Mist, Sigrid and Petr (if we must choose among those three) Sigrid appears to me like the easiest and most unproductive lynch. But is there anything to learn from the fact that votes pile up much more easily on her than on any other candidate? Come on, Snotra. Nowhere did Mursi suggest that it would be better not to lynch, and the obvious way in which you're twisting his words is not an argument befitting of you. Cheap shot. Even though Sigrid hasn't been very helpful so far, I doubt that her Loki team would let her keep up this sort of behaviour. I'm more interested in Petr's 'scum trap' and how he never got back to us with his conclusions. Unvote: Kolgrima the Deep-Minded (Kristel) Vote: Petr Half-Troll (Piratedave84) I will be around until the end of the day, waiting for Petr to explain himself and ready to change my vote if need be.
  11. Intriguing. Interesting. I never paid much attention to onlookers, isn't Valhalla worth at least a short visit between bigger attractions?
  12. That, or bandwagonphobia?
  13. My initial feelings remain, but considering that vote consolidation is required sooner or later I may need to rethink my vote. Your explanations do seem to hold up. Initially it appeared to me like you had a stronger case in Chlodochar yet you chose to vote Wilhalm. You're right in that sometimes it's not what you do, but how you do it that will draw suspicions. I'm not sure of what you have achieved here. Would you like to draw up a list of Einherjar vs Loki/neutral according to your test so that the findings are shared with the rest of us?
  14. Very true, but that's typical of Wilhalm and it's what Pudding was trying to tell you. Not that anyone here is trying to defend Wilhalm -- just that his behaviour is typical and that in itself isn't a very good clue to his allegiance. On the other hand maybe you didn't care about his allegiance and are trying to get him lynched because he hasn't proved useful so far -- and this is what I call an 'easy target' for Scum. They can comfortably vote for silent or unhelpful Vikings since they know they can hardly be blamed the next day. But I'm not sure that pruning off the 'dead weight' is really a good town move unless nothing remotely suspicious comes up. My opinion of course. Obviously not. But the way I read it you used Helga's warning as an argument to vote for Wilhelm, which is contradictory. As I mentioned above, it's difficult to defend oneself of being absent or unhelpful. Especially if you're absent. They're low-risk targets for Servants of Loki. You also dropped the name of Dagstyrr, which may or may not be a way to draw the attention on another low-flying Viking. Maybe it was just trying to find fault with Helga Pudding's list (if it was one), maybe it was something more. Mostly we only have gut feeling to rely on today, and my gut feeling tells me that focusing on Wilhalm at this point could be an attempt to throw dust in our eyes. Speaking of which... You make it sound like you don't want to bandwagon because that's something Servants of Loki would do, and you would like to avoid looking like one... which doesn't convince me you aren't one in the first place. Do you think Wlihalm's behaviour odder that Chlodochar's and his 'forced' vote? *is* odder
  15. I heard about your prowess in battle, Carvenhall. Good luck now, bring the gloves back to me with plenty of gold! I should go now, I'm on honeymoon after all! With a laugh, Galen turns and disappears into the crowd.
  16. Galen walks behind Benji. "I think these would suit you much better" whispers the Rogue, producing a pair of Overkill Gloves from beneath his cloak. Detecting a spark of interest in the Dragonslayer's eyes, he goes on: "For a tenth of the gold they bring you during your next quest, what do you think?"
  17. Elicend, again please do not bump old topics without good reason. If you need help, try reaching the original poster by PM (personal messenger).
  18. Elicend, please do not bump old topics (in this case, 3 years old) without good reason. If you need help, try reaching the original poster by PM (personal messenger) -- however I see they haven't been active on EB in a long time.
  19. The reasons you quote are that Wilhalm is behaving just like in previous lives according to Tumi, and that Helga thinks there's not much one can read from that. I'm not sure how this adds up to Wilhalm being suspicious -- perhaps is it that you don't trust Helga and she happens to disagree with your suspicions about Wilhalm and Dagstyrr? Anyway, it looks to me like you're going for the easy targets that aren't around to defend themselves or won't defend themselves properly. This is something a Servant of Loki is more likely to do on Day One than getting in trouble trying to drown a fierce warrior. I know it's not much to go on, but such are the small things Day One votes are made of. Vote: Kolgrima the Deep-Minded (Kristel)
  20. Oh, I see... I think. You mean those two? Pudding-Head said that "half of us haven't said very much so far"... That doesn't sound very selective. Do you think that his mentioning Baulf and Sigrid was just to keep us distracted so that we don't look too closely at the rest of the list? As for Jarni's list, who else should have been there in your opinion?
  21. Ok I see, thanks for the explanation. Rurik of Gofraid? I know he's a bastard, but Rurik is not my son. Anyhow, it's true I'm not a talkative Viking. I'm not overly excited by the evidence (I use that term loosely) presented so far, but it's healthy to shake the boat and see who falls over. Or something, I'm not sure how the saying goes anymore. Uh, you're an odd one! Don't try to grab our attention so much if you're not going to say anything of interest. Would a townie not directly under suspicion be so nervous about having to speak up and be noticed? I'm going to ponder this for a minute.
  22. As far as I know, these cars were built by our Admin Hinckley who created our Train Tech banner. I'm not sure if they have been featured elsewhere, and there are likely no instructions available. However it may be worth checking with him whether he has any close-up pictures. EDIT: After double-checking, his particular hopper is an official set and you should have a look at this review for detailed construction pictures.
  23. What makes you think that there might not be any servants of Loki among us, Snotra?
  24. But that would still be a source of warm urine, no? Why, have you had a taste of your own medicine?
  25. Oi. It's cold in here, I'm giving some thought to giving up on all this boar and gravlax and move down south, I heard there's a little atoll where Polynesian fallen heroes retreat and they're quite welcoming to foreigners. Pass that warm urine this way, will you?
