dathil Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I just bought for around twice of what I could afford :P a few hundred transyellow and -red round plates, some greenery, some streamers, 15 new wolfpacks and 35 more bulls (somebody did them away for little, couldnt resist) Quote
Pvt13 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) What do you use the trans yellow and red for? And I know what you mean by overextending your monetary capabilities ;) I would've liked to order lots more as well. Oh the troubles of starting a new collection... P.s. by bulls you mean cows? I think he uses them for stained-glass windows, but correct me if I'm wrong Quote
dathil Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) I use them for stained windows indeed, although I didnt see much chance to use them yet. Also to create blood-stained water (the red ones), and the yellow ones for... well... They weren't THAT clean, in those times. By bulls, I mean the faction from Knights Kingdom, which has become my signature. I have around 50 of them, shields inclusive. 2016-05-19_05-35-54 by David de Rijke, on Flickr Edited May 19, 2016 by dathil Quote

Pvt13 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Just received my bricklink order:) I didn't know those Viking boat pieces would be so big haha, just need the middle sections and I can build the boat I wanted to build since I saw Vikings on TV and found out Lego had a Viking theme in my dark ages Quote
VK-318 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) My second build is up! http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=133103 I have named two common types of plant life in the Orcish Marshes: fenweed (at some point to be represented with dark sand yellow 3x and 4x axles standing on their studded or flat end) and orcfang frond (depicted with the large palm-leaf parts, can be any reasonable color). soccerkid6 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) For my 8000th post, i thought it'd be fitting to look back over my time in Guilds of Historica. I joined Mitgardia on November 12th, 2011, so going on 5 years in the guilds Challenge 1 got me to make my first Mitgardian MOC: Though I didn't know enough to post it as a separate topic, so it likely wasn't counted as an entry. My enthusiasm for the guilds waned some for a time, but late in Challenge 2 I decided to make an entry: Even back then my builds had interiors After challenge 2 I became much more involved in Mitgardia and entered lots of minichallenges and kept busy making freebuilds too. My first castle for the guilds (pictures are improving somewhat anyways ): My challenge 3 entry pictures seem to have been lost, but here is a WIP shot of it: And a build that I think marked quite a turning point in my MOCing career, and was also my first grey castle: Before Challenge 4, I hosted a small mini-challenge and was amazed by the entries, Commerce Challenge. My Ch. 4 entry was my biggest build at that point: My Challenge V entry was even bigger, though probably too big for my collection and skills at the time: Varlyrio Challenge entry: I made 2 full castles for Challenge 6, the second of which was my first build to ever be blogged on The Brothers Brick. I had the pleasure of working with Ecc and Kabel in making "The Blizzard" One of the first builds I ever photographed on a white background: My second minichallenge: Master Architect Challenge One of my favorite builds from Book 1: And my last build from Book 1 The first book in GoH made a huge difference in my photography and building skills And Book 2 saw even more improvement. My main build for Challenge I: Some free build highlights from around that time: Challenge 2, the Avalonian Civil War, led to my creating one of my best landscapes, and receiving an honorable mention : Then Challenge 3, Mitgardian's civil war, pushed me to make quite a lot of builds. Which earned me my first ever win in a GoH challenge Only took me 3 and a half years, and 9 challenges to get there More freebuild favorites, and much better pictures now. Working with other Mitgardians on the Frozen Beyond collab was tons of fun. I only made a few MOCs for the Kali civil war. But kept busy with more freebuilds and the Historica Husbandry contest. Then The Frozen Beyond contest started and I made a few entries. And a few more freebuilds brings it back to the present. Hopefully you enjoyed seeing this brief (but still really long ) overview of my time in GoH, and I'd like to thank all the guild members who have made this such an amazing project, and even those who just spectate. GoH has been my favorite part of the online LEGO community, and I hope it continues for some time Edited June 4, 2016 by soccerkid6 Quote
Gunman Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 GoH ftw... Great profile SK... :) Its amazing how you evolved through ages... Quote
Alfadas Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Wow, nice summary, SK! You really improved a lot during those 5 years, to make you one of the best (to me, the best) MOCers out there. Keep up the great work! So far, my favourite MOC you made, is the Avalonian Civil War landscape. It's so beautiful! Just look at the details. The ruins on top of the hill, the hill itself, just Wow. anyway, I just received a nice amount of bricks, so MOCs are incoming. First the Flickr challenge/contest/thingamacbobber and then some more AoM. Quote
