SkaForHire Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Two battles are brewing on the horizon -- Dugal needs his friends' help, (and so does Petera if you want to be on his side!) Also, there is an LDD contest in this thread. On another note, great to see all these builds coming in! Quote
qiadris Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Just an update (that I haven't vanished into thin air), I'm moving to a new place this weekend because of a new job and I'm busy with the packing, but I'll soon be back with more Sultan's Gate and Ch II Quote
robuko Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Good luck with the move qiadris! The PGTC have mustered some heavy firepower for Dugal! Quote
Gabe Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 It's been a rough few months -- I spent most of the winter on the east coast attending to my parents. My father passed away at the end of February, and then I spent most of March helping my mother get her life reorganized. I'm back in Kaliphornia now. However, my son has totally trashed the LEGO collection (meaning: huge amount of bricks everywhere, not sorted at all), and I'm not feeling motivated to clean up or sort. And the weather has been so beautiful out here, it's hard to justify staying indoors. My condolences NM on that sad news, i hope you and yr Mum are doing ok. That would've been epic, too bad it didn't pan out. Well yeah... about that.. I went back and tried to make it work again, it still sticks a lot and i couldn't slow the gears as much as i would have liked (maybe should have tried to use worm gears..) but it's done at last. Photos tomorrow if i can get this rubbish computer to do what i ask of it. So that'll be one more Kali ship for the GNAR challenge! Quote
Scaevola Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) My new free build is up http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=94922 Edited April 26, 2014 by Scaevola Quote
Gabe Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 My merchant marine GNAR entry is finished, huzzah! Now to get onto my warship. Click the image below to get to the topic. I'm also applying from some UoP credits for this build: Trade/Law - Shipping by water Hydrology - Waves Life in Kaliphlin Thanks peeps! Quote
Gabe Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Good luck with the move qiadris! The PGTC have mustered some heavy firepower for Dugal! Damn robuko, that is some army! I'll have to muster my troops tomorrow. (I won't be supplying as many as that though - PGTC business must be booming!) Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Holy SNOT Gabe! +1 for all the credits! Quote
mechamike Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) Prolouge, Kael's story, part 1, The dead son. My first free build is posted. Finally.. Im not sure if this build would qualify for claming points in The University of Petraea's Doctorate of Historica Program Could I claim Landscape Design -snow and ice (no ice can be seen) or General Building (Other Techniques) -minifig posing ? Edited April 29, 2014 by mechamike Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Yes, you can claim both of those. Go ahead and edit it into your MOC's topic post, and then post on the PU DoH thread so we know you're looking for credit! Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) Finally got some eagle wings, so now I can introduce something I've been working on! (for about two days) :) Does my HSS build count as a free-build? Edited May 1, 2014 by TheUtilityBelt32 Quote
Mike S Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 My entry to the Transporting Cotton/Bandages to Avalonia mini challenge here. Quote
Kai NRG Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Looks like I missed the CFC challenge (might try to put together a unqualifing entry), but I do have a free-build on its way! Edit: And the free-build: A Child's Dream Not quite my usual type of build... Edited May 5, 2014 by Kai NRG Quote
gedren_y Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Bad news. One of my cats knocked over Nestlands Market. The nature of the build makes it difficult to reconstruct, but I will try. One other build was damaged, but it went back together without trouble. Quote
SkaForHire Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Dang those interstellar invaders. Too bad you did not get video of it, or else your cat could be a YouTube sensation. Quote
gedren_y Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I didn't see it happen. I was casually told that our oldest cat, Panda, knocked it over. I don't have a dedicated Lego space at the moment, and an excited cat can hop onto where I have to store my WIPs. I haven't had the time to build for the past week, and apparently it happened a couple days ago. Good thing it was a nearly symmetrical build. That will help when trying to remember how I built the support structure. That was quite complicated. Quote
Kai NRG Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I've found these three Cotton entries: the Utility Belt's, robuko's, and Masa's. Pipe up if I've missed any please! Quote
TheUtilityBelt Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) Thanks for linking mine, Kai! Edited May 6, 2014 by TheUtilityBelt32 Quote

Gideon Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) Sorry for my inactivity in GoH lately, I've been busy with real life (including some travelling) and what little brick time I've had the last month has ended up in the challenges over at Lands of Roawia... As I joined the "desert faction" over there as well, I try however to make builds which can either directly be used as Kaliphlin builds or with lighter modifications. Here are a couple of builds showing how Kaliphlin troops are trying to break a siege of an Avalonian town held by Drow loyalists by sneaking in through the sewers and opening the gate... I finally got to use the Tudor house that did not make the final cut of my Nordana Castle. I'd like to claim some UoP credits for this as well: Military Science: Siege Architecture: Half-timbered Tudor style Architecture: Roof rakes Agriculture and Zoology: Raising livestock Edited May 13, 2014 by Gideon Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Question: I like to build very detail-heavy, intricately-lighted sets, usually focused on getting one excellent shot instead of building a complete building or an even border. I know I'm supposed to have red and dark blue in Kaliphlin builds, but is it OK if it's a red/dk blue flower, for instance, instead of having a random flagpole in the middle of a jungle? Quote
