Great work again 'Peppermint_M' - yes 2 more to go - then another fresh 16 in a few months !

Now, the one who is missing wouldn't be missing if it was for a sponge-bath by all three !

I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

So just who is Dawes, anyway? In one of the threads about these new minifigs I saw someone else asked about this name on the tile, as well as the number on the dummy's license plate, and I was wondering the same thing. Maybe the number has no significance, but I can't help but imagine that "Dawes" has some relevance to some LEGO designer...

this is somewhat sparse in detail or execution. although i would accept that you aim to complete a series of work, which considered as a complete body may well add up to more than the sum of its parts, so maybe this might limit your potential within each scence. but i would also argue that to engage with a work of this nature, then a certain degree of forward planning might be advocated.

Well, the thing is, this was a challenge to myself to create 16 MOCs for 16 days, over themes I have never touched upon and in an area of MOCing I have never tried (beyond the 8x8 vigs). I set the parameters of the MOC to allow myself some limits and to force the project through (if it gets too big, a MOC ends up sitting on the table, awaiting parts I never get around to buying as a new idea comes along).

I have a notebook full of my ideas, the nurses (alongside the Zombies and the Skater Emos) being among the first planned, back when I had just ordered my box.

I am limited by my time scale and by my collection, I had to have a speedy turnover on these scenes to have something done on time and spares for the two days this week when I have no chance to MOC.

I admit I wanted to build a curtain to go around the bed (drawn back, so the empty bed could be seen) but I was faced with a failure of my method and not wanting to resort to my clone brand parts or to put it aside, I skipped it. If I could have had the parts, the floor would be patterned.

I missed out many possible details to allow a cleaner, less confused MOC (I was thinking all kinds of medical instruments, walls at the sides, another bed) and for better realism (if a patient that needed that many machines went wandering, they possibly would meet ol' death). Another problem is thus: I really do not like hospitals. I have vauge memories of what they look like (these come with a smell :cry_sad:) and a few chance sightings from media. I had no idea what to build really and it is not a theme I build at all (unless it is Space Medical). I hoped the comedy of the scene would carry it through.

Sorry you didn't like it, maybe you'd enjoy some of the other scenes I have built (no prizes for guessing which themes I am not familiar with MOCing) and the final two I shall be posting, one later today and one tomorrow.

I like the way you've got the bars of the bed frame like a real hospital bed. Maybe Dawes has inhaled too much of the gas in the large red tank...
