  1. Erhm...this is NOT the "what did I buy today" topic. This is the topic to hunt the precious "Limited" sets and to discuss the availability of Star Wars sets.
  2. Dunno. But that does sound interesting. Two Ties I'll quickly add that to the 1st post for future rumour reference
  3. Opinions are best put in the reviews of each set. One can always state "I bought this set, because of the CW movie or the reviews of it" and so forth. So I can hardly see the need for this thread here as it only works as another place to post opinions, which makes it all a little too confusing. Don't be sorry - ERRARE HUMANUM EST.
  4. What what? Show your army. - Simple question, simple topic, in fact just simple. What don't you understand here? This thread is for posting pics of one's Star Wars army / armies. In the future please refrain from posting one word posts like that. Be a little more explicatory. Thanks in advance. Now let's get back on topic.
  5. Discuss the movie here and find the reviews of clone wars LEGO sets here. Now why should we have this thread dedicated to the same topics? Please go to the proper topics and discuss there or we'll be clogging up the Star Wars forum fast. This has been stated before and I'll do it again and again and again and again
  6. Yes there is. Go here for that peticular topic. Or click it at the bottom of the index page, where it's currently located. EDIT: I've merged the topics for your pleasure
  7. The quality of the set. Feel free to comment on the review and/or set also.
  8. Personally I would go to the Review Index and check the reviews on the "new" Castle theme (Castle/Fantasy Era/Undead). There you'll find loads of opinions and prices. Or else you could go to lego shop at home and check the available sets and how they look. Welcome to Eurobricks. I hope You enjoy your time with us.
  9. And another set enters the scene: Set# 7009 Set title: The Final Joust Price: 8.29 Euro / 7.99 USD Pieces: 62 Release: 2007 The Box: And yet again TLG has put the bricks in a box, that somehow corresponds with the amount of bricks in it. The Castle theme has got well designed boxes :) The whole set (build): 2 knights, jousting fence and weapon rack. The Weapons Rack: Another great addition of weapons. Flail, halberd and skeleton scimitar. Super weapons for those close encounter melee battles fought when tipped off the horse : :grin:P The Jousting Fence: Not much to say. It's a fence. Simple, yet it serves it's purpose very well. The Crown Knight: Gotta love that guy. He looks like nothing can hurt him. He even got a selfsufficient smile on his face. I'm sure he's convinced that no skeleton can defeat him. Also the horse, it's barding and the headcover looks awesome. A great old school sword and the ever cool normannic shield. What could possibly go wrong for this knight? The helmet I really love. IMO it's a lot better than the old knight helmets (see review of 5615 The Knight for a pic of one of those). The Skeleton Knight: The black skeleton horse ROCKS! I love that design and in black it's even badder than than the white version. The shield reeks of dread and the knight is one bad skeleton on the rampage. I do find that the helmet is a little off! I'd rather have a black knights helmet instead. The KK helmet doesn't really do it for me. The All in All verdict: This is another great army builder set. It holds a lot of great weapons, some cool minifigs and great pieces. The only thing that puzzles me is; why would a Crown Knight joust a Skeleton? Doesn't really make sense. KimT
  10. Time for another of the great Castle sets. And yes this one is a great army builder set as well :D Set# 7090 Set title: Crossbow Attack Price: 5.29 Euro / 5.99 USD Pieces: 54 Release: 2007 The Box: And as the other two sets reviewd so far (7009 and 5615), this one has a fitting box that is too easily snatched from the shelf and put into your shopping cart. - Not sure it's a great thing...too expensive in the end :D The Crossbow Attack Cart: The cart is a neat little build that actually works. And for once we're not given that awful technic launcher, but a "build-it" launcher! It actually works just fine for it's purpose. The addition of two crossbows makes it worth buying. Never can get enought weapons for the evergrowing Crownie army. The Figs: Oddly I've not taken any pics of the figs and therefore I'll illustrate using the S@H pic. The figs are great. I love the silver helmets and in this set you get 2 crownies and a skeleton plus a white skeleton horse. That's a lot of figs for a set this size. A true army builder. Thumbs up for that. The All in All verdict: Another small, yet super set in the Castle theme. I bought several of these to make a fine little army. It's cheap and often found on sale! I can hardly resist buying it when I see it KimT
  11. Having plenty of time on my hands this summer I did some reviews. Yes, I'm aware this has already been done, but I'll just do it once more. No harm there Set# 5615 Set title: The Knight Price: 2.99 Euro / 3.49 USD Pieces: 21 (yes a whole 21 bricks) Release: 2007 The Box: A neat little box that has a great size for dropping into your shopping cart. For once TLG didn't shove the bricks into an oversized cardboard box ;) The Knight: This is a great minifig. Though he looks a little unsatisfied...might be because his head isn't put on "all the way". A great army builder fig. The only thing that I find a little annoying is that the "collar" isn't completely rounded. It looks too much like an animation and left-hand work. The Weapon Rack: YES! Thumbs up for this. Plate mail, sword, shield and jousting helmet. Plus the spear and open helmet on the fig. So many great additions to put into use. Bring it on pesky skeleton army. The all in all verdict: A great set. A little too expensive compared to the Crossbow Attack in which one gets 2 knights and a skeleton plus bricks for 5.49 EURO / 5.99 USD. But still a great army builder set. And the 7090 set, does not have the same Knight fig. KimT
  12. It's been taken care of. No need to talk more about this.
  13. You can't. And nobody knows who does it. It just happens
  14. I found these 2 versions: Bricklink stores here and here Hmm...looks like this is getting quite a bit off topic. I'll consider moving this to a more proper forum. In the meantime, do keep posting about rare parts here
  15. Awesome work Would you allow the rest of us to copy your designs? I am thinking about the minotaur and the knight/statue thingy. And I agree the horse legs and satyr legs are magnificent
  16. Happy Birthday Snefroe I hope you enjoy it and that it brings you quite a few presents and cake
  17. The PaBs are sometimes used to clear the storage of old obsolete bricks. If a piece isn't used anymore, they'll throw it into the PaBs. Easy money and it allows newer bricks in the storage. I once bought 30+ different cavalry torsos and 20+ octan torsos in the PaB in Billund. So just once in a while you might get lucky there.
  18. Yes they can and they've done it. But it wont go into production. Why? Simple answer: The trans clear plastic is much harder than the regular colours. So if they made a trans clear minifig, it would be difficult to: 1. Move arms and legs, the harder plastic makes it difficult to move without damaging the attachment areas. 2. Attaching the arms or legs is hard and could cause the holes for the arms in the torso to crack or become milky white. The legs might break the attachment pin or the legs would crack and turn milky white. 3. Positioning the minifigs arms would be very difficult as mentioned above. How do I know this? I wish I had a trans clear minifig and talked to a set designer about it. He's got one at his desk and he told me about these issues. They'd love to give us one, but until they figure out how to make trans clear minifig parts with the same plastic mix as regular colours, then we wont get one Sad, but true (hey isn't that a song by Metallica?)
  19. It was a mixed theme. The only distinction is the minifigs: this is a lion knight: and this is a crusader They're not enemies, so it can be difficult to see, why they have been divided. That's the only answer I can come up with. That and the fact that Bricklink has the same distinction. (which is obvious, since I typed their list in to make the index)
  20. Thanks for that nice pictorial review of a this fine old set. I'll just move it to the proper forum. Welcome to EB - what a way to start, with a well pictured review
  21. I've taken the liberty of merging this fine thread by "the enigma that is badger" with some of the other set-searching threads, that I closed when becoming a regulator. There's a need here to discuss these matters and therefore it'll be allowed within this topic. Please note that the rant upon price difference isn't welcome here. Take it to the LEGO News and General discussion instead. This is for Star Wars sets only. Happy hunting and good luck to us all in finding what we look for
  22. Thanks for your replies. I've updated the index. Feel free to notify here of any missing reviews according to the rules in the first post Oh yeah. And if you make a review, please help us keep this index up to date, by posting a link here
  23. Laugh on! I bought it because it's a cool set.
  24. I agree. Where do they get them? I've heard that odd-coloured pieces are sometimes made by request of modelbuilders in the LEGOland parks. They've got access to non-set colours. I know this for a fact as I've noticed those bricks in different modelbuilder areas in the parks. That is one way the bricks appear. The rest (mold test and startup) + Ambassador bricks (mentioned above) seem to find their way into the hands of sellers on different sites. Maybe a box showed up in the PaB by mistake? The possibilities are plenty, I'm just glad I've managed to find/buy me a few of those. Here's my latest buy from one of those sellers. Not exactly a red Vader helmet, but it it a fine helmet and a pair of handy weapons, isn't it?
  25. Yes I was kidding and we're working on it. A week should be enough voting time for this.
