  1. Well this was a surprise entry! It's good to see you branching out; I'll have to try make a pirate MOC now... That was fast!
  2. I'm glad you found the time to enter this BSG Star Wars contest! You've captured the classic viper look very well made new unique Star Wars ship too.
  3. Oh my; she's got a big rear end! I want to see this one take on ImperialShadows!
  4. Oh my; this looks almost as overpowered as a Gee Bee! Poor Captain Harrison must have no friends though... Very nice and swooshable!
  5. Very cool! Does this mean you buy technic sets? Great use of Galidor parts too. Where was this photo taken? Is this inside-info-ambassador stuff? Is Fabuland returning?
  6. As a Clone-Wars fanboy I've actually been considering giving this one a go.. and I might just steal your design! I think this works quite well and legs like that can be quite hard to do; I tried somehting similar when I was trying to make a Tripod but I was never happy with my results... Thanks for giving me a job and some new clothes! Your background is quite stunning!
  7. Very nice; it does look chopper-ish! I wasn't aware that the clone visor was even vagually compatable with other helmets; I just tested it out myself and I might give it a go in the future. I do question the ability of a bike like this to power so much weaponry though...
  8. Must've been a local deal; it was just 15% for us too. So I went to Target and bought the farm....
  9. According to Wookiepedia... Vague I know...
  10. I used to work on a Radar that used plastic fiber optics to transmit the trigger pulse to the transmitter. (For those wanting more details it was for electrical isolation reasons, and the Radar was SPS-49.) What's my point? For short distances plastic is good enough! Can you expand on your planned usage?
  11. ....and a Happy Birthday from me!
  12. I don't understand. If you were someone like me who bought both sets I'd see your point, but seriously, the new system is better and far more flexible. The combo reciever-battery-base idea was limited. If I was you I'd inwardly cheer and look forward to the new sets!
  13. It's mostly because of the reduced power of the RC trains.

Ironically that one is a myth.

I don't get my facts from Mythbusters, besides you're over simplifying and exaggerating their results. Also, it's a lot more complicated than they make out; for one, they ignore that fluorescent lights have power factor issues and due to that you can't accurately measure power consumption with just a current loop. They are only measuring real power which for fluorescent lights can be 1/3 of the apparent power and thus the results could be way off. (Someone who's studied AC power more recently than 7 years ago please feel free to correct me... ) I bet they were using a modern Fluorescent to get those results... but I'll concede that it may not be as bad as it was in my youth. When I was a boy a fluoro took 10 seconds just to start.
  16. Hmm. That's three people in recent time. I didn't make a complaint at the time, maybe I should have. (I'll move it this evening.)
  17. I don't have either set (I do want the VW though) but I've had no issues with dark blue lately. I've got a bit from the recent Star Wars sets and it's all seemed good to me. I have more problem with the light grey these days; it looks sorta transparent, not as solid a colour it use to seem.
  18. Yes, Jinzo is busy at the moment. We all get that way at times. But it's no excuse to turn this forum into a barely literate spam-fest. Keep the conversation on the topic at hand or I will close it.
  19. I declare my love for LEGO loud and proud every day! Yes. Captain Zuloo is right so I'm going to do so...
  20. None that I know of. To me they all seem to be missing something. ...and if we're lucky there will be one LEGO set on sale. I've given up on Toyworld sales. The last time I got a good deal there was the UCS Batmobile.
  21. Indeed. It seems too good to be true. Perhaps it's an early April Fools Day prank?
  22. How did you hear about this? I ask as I want to know if it's local or Australia wide.
  23. I was in a hurry; I had only an hour or two to make this. I love Rotta too! I want to make more Rotta MOCs! As for the highlights, they are brown. It's clearer in some photos. BTW, the ships name is Hungry One.
  24. Gee, and you waited so long for an answer... I've seen the Cargo Train in Myer and the Passenger train in Toyworld, but that was a while back and in Hobart. Have you tried Moore Educational?
